Resonance frequency analysis (RFA) provides an evaluation of implant stability over time. This analysis is a non-invasive, precise, and objective method. Several studies compare the RFA system with other devices. However, few investigations analyze repeatability and reproducibility between different operators. The aim of this study was to evaluate the intra- and inter-operator concordance of the Osstell® ISQ.
RFA measurements were performed with Osstell® ISQ in a total of 37 implants placed in 21 patients. At the time of implant placement, 6 measurements per implant were taken by three different experienced operators. Three measurements were carried out consecutively and three by removing and placing the SmartPeg-Osstell® to assess intra-operator and inter-operator agreement.
Intra-operator concordance according to the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) showed high concordance. The ICC values were higher than 0.9 (p < 0.0001) for consecutive measures and alternative measures, being almost perfect of Landis & Koch classification. For inter-operator concordance The ICC was 0.709 (p < 0.0001) and 0.670 (p < 0.0001) for consecutive and alternative measures, respectively, both estimates being in the substantial category. In torque and ISQ values, no statistically significant differences were observed when operators and measurements were compared.
Osstell® ISQ system was stable both in intra-operator and inter-operator measurements. This device has excellent repeatability and reproducibility, demonstrating reliability to measure the stability of dental implants.

Although informative, the functional role and signaling mechanism of the resting state FC are not intuitive as those in stimulus/task-evoked activity. In order to bridge the gap, we investigated anesthetic modulation of both resting-state and sensory-evoked activities. We used two well-studied GABAergic anesthetics of varying dose (isoflurane 0.5-2.0% and α-chloralose 30 and 60 mg/kg∙h) and recorded changes in electrophysiology using a pair of laminar electrode arrays that encompass the entire depth of the bilateral somatosensory cortices (S1fl) in rats. Specifically, the study focused to describe how varying anesthesia conditions affect the resting state activities and resultant FC between bilateral hemispheres in comparison to those obtained by evoked responses. As results, isoflurane decreased the amplitude of evoked responses in a dose-dependent manner mostly due to the habituation ed activities for accurate understanding of neural signal processing and circuitry.Agricultural intensification and expanding protected areas are proposed sustainable development approaches. But, their consequences for mental health are poorly understood. This study aims to predict how forest conservation and contract farming may alter resource access and depression risk in rural Uganda. Residents (N = 695) in 11 communities in Masindi District were asked about their expectations under land management scenarios using scenario-based interviews, household characteristics and depression symptoms. Over 80% of respondents presented with a 'business-as-usual forest access' scenario expected reduced access to forest income and food over the next decade; this number climbed above 90% among 'restricted forest access' scenario respondents. Over 99% of those presented with two land access scenarios ('business-as-usual land access' and 'sugarcane expansion land access') expected wealthy households to gain land but poorer families to lose it, threatening to increase poverty and food insecurity among small-scale farmers. Bayesian structural equation modelling suggested that depression severity was positively associated with food insecurity (0.20, 95% CI = 0.12-0.28) and economic poverty (0.11, 95% CI 0.02-0.19). Decision-makers should evaluate the mental health impacts of conservation and agricultural approaches that restrict access to livelihood resources. Potato vine and skin maturity, which refer to foliar senescence and adherence of the tuber periderm, respectively, are both important to production and therefore breeding. Our objective was to investigate the genetic architectures of these traits in a genome-wide association panel of 586 genotypes, and through joint linkage mapping in a half-diallel subset (N = 397). Skin maturity was measured by image analysis after mechanized harvest 120 days after planting. To correct for the influence of vine maturity on skin maturity under these conditions, the former was used as a covariate in the analysis. The genomic heritability based on a 10 K SNP array was 0.33 for skin maturity vs. 0.46 for vine maturity. Only minor QTLs were detected for skin maturity, the largest being on chromosome 9 and explaining 8% of the variation. As in many previous studies, S. tuberosum Cycling DOF Factor 1 (CDF1) had a large influence on vine maturity, explaining 33% of the variation in the panel as a bi-allelic SNP and 44% in the half-diallel as a multi-allelic QTL. From the estimated effects of the parental haplotypes in the half-diallel and prior knowledge of the allelic series for CDF1, the CDF1 allele for each haplotype was predicted and ultimately confirmed through whole-genome sequencing. Its effect was validated in a panel of 218 wheat accessions. Kernel length (KL) and thousand-kernel weight (TKW) of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) contribute significantly to kernel yield. In the present study, a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population derived from the cross between the wheat line S849-8 with larger kernels and more spikelets per spike and the line SY95-71 was developed. Further, of both the bulked segregant analysis (BSA) and the wheat 660 K single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array were used to rapidly identify genomic regions for kernel-related traits from this RIL population. Kompetitive Allele Specific PCR markers were further developed in the SNP-enriched region on the 2D chromosome to construct a genetic map. Both QKL.sicau-SSY-2D for KL and QTKW.sicau-SSY-2D for TKW were identified at multiple environments on chromosome arm 2DL. These two QTLs explained 9.68-23.02% and 6.73-18.32% of the phenotypic variation, respectively. The effects of this co-located QTL were successfully verified in a natural population consisting of 218 Sichuan wheat accessions. Interestingly, the major QTL was significantly and positively correlated with spike length, but did not negatively affect spikelet number per spike (SNS), plant height, or anthesis date. These results indicated that it is possible to synchronously improve kernel weight and SNS by using this QTL. Additionally, several genes associated with kernel development and filling rate were predicted and sequenced in the QTL-containing physical intervals of reference genomes of 'Chinese spring' and Aegilops tauschii. Collectively, these results provide a QTL with great breeding potential and its linked markers which should be helpful for fine mapping and molecular breeding.
While the incidence of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) is increasing constantly, newer implants with designs other than the classic Grammont geometry are gaining importance. More anatomic inclination angles and lateralization are supposed to have a positive impact on clinical results and complication rates. Presentation of midterm results therefore is important to support these assumptions. selleck compound The aim of this study was to report the midterm clinical outcome of primary rTSA with an uncemented humeral short-stem prosthesis (USSP) with a humeral inclination angle of 145° and the analysis of different variables on the outcome.
This is a retrospective study of all patients with primary rTSA using an USSP and a combined humeral inclination angle of 145° (Ascend™ flex, Stryker) with a minimum clinical follow-up of 2years. The implant combines a 132.5° inclination for the humeral stem with an additional 12.5° for the polyethylene inlay. Primary outcomes were patient-reported outcome measures ASES score, stients (3.6%) had a complication one incomplete lower plexus lesion, one dislocation and one major hematoma. Surgical revision was needed in two cases (2.4%).
The midterm clinical outcome of primary reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) with an uncemented humeral short stem and a humeral inclination angle of 145° showed good-to-excellent results with a low complication and revision rate independent from a wide range of pre- and postoperative variables. PROMs are comparable to those reported for anatomic TSA with a low complication rate, different to historical studies especially with the Grammont design.

Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is a treatment modality that has been used to accelerate the rehabilitation of patients with neurological damage. However, it is unclear whether NMES of the deltoid can lead to the early restoration of shoulder function after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RSA).
In this prospective and randomized study, 88 patients who underwent RSA with the same prosthesis design for cuff tear arthropathy or irreparable rotator cuff tear were assessed. The patients were divided into two groups (NMES group and non-NMES group, 44 patients each). For the NMES group, two pads of the NMES device were placed over the middle and posterior deltoid area, and NMES was maintained for 1 month after surgery. Shoulder functional outcomes and deltoid thickness were compared at 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively. Shoulder functional outcomes were assessed based on the visual analog scale (VAS) for pain, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), and Constant scores and the range of motion (ROM) and power of the affected shoulder.
