A case of study with the installation of as set of proposed devices is presented, to demonstrate its viability.Knowledge of microbial composition and antimicrobials' susceptibility to periodontal abscesses is vital for their successful treatment. The current study aims to provide a thorough overview of the clinical and microbial features of periodontal abscesses of the local community. The study was carried out at Rehman College of Dentistry, Peshawar, Pakistan between December 2019 to March 2020. Clinical measurements and microbial samples were collected from 45 subjects. Microbial samples were anaerobically cultured for the growth of selected bacterial species. E-test was used to assess the susceptibility of bacterial species grown from the patient samples to amoxicillin, azithromycin, metronidazole, and tetracycline. The majority of affected patients had preexisting chronic periodontitis. All abscesses clinically demonstrated bleeding on probing and suppuration. The periodontal abscess was most commonly associated with lower incisors and canines, followed by lower molars and then upper incisor and canine teeth. Fusobacterium spp. (73%) was the most frequently detected species followed by Prevotella intermedia/nigrescens (65%), Porphyromonas gingivalis (46%) and Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (24%). The detected clinical isolates of certain bacteria demonstrated resistance to all tested antibiotics except azithromycin. We conclude that Fusobacterium spp., P. ULK-101 chemical structure intermedia/nigrescens, P. gingivalis, C. rectus, T. forsythia and A. actinomycetemcomitans are closely associated with periodontal abscess. Bacterial species associated with periodontal abscess demonstrated some level of antimicrobial resistance to amoxicillin, metronidazole and tetracycline while antibiotic resistance to azithromycin could not be demonstrated.Meat adulteration has become a global social problem. In order to protect consumers from meat adulteration, several methods have been developed to identify meat species. However, the conventional methods are labor-intensive, time-consuming and require instruments. In the present study, a rapid and visual method based on recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) and multiplex lateral flow dipstick (MLFD) was developed to detect duck ingredient in adulterated beef. Using recombinase and strand displacement polymerase enable RPA to amplify different double-labeled DNA amplicons at room temperature, which can be further detected by MLFD. The whole reaction process can be finished within 35 min, and the results can be determined by naked eyes. As low as 5% of duck ingredient in adulterated beef can be easily measured. Moreover, we confirmed that our new method held good potential in the detection of commercially processed meat samples. In conclusion, this study reported a useful animal derived meat adulteration detection method, which have potential application in future.A light pen coordinate measuring system (LPCMS) is a kind of vision-based portable coordinate measuring technique. It implements coordinate measurement by analyzing the image of a light pen, which has several control points and a probe. The relative positions of control points need to be determined before measurement and serve as the measuring basis in LPCMS. How to accurately calibrate the relative positions of control points is the most important issue in system calibration. In this paper, a new method of control point position calibration based on a traditional coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is proposed. A light pen is fastened to the measuring arm of a CMM and performs accurate translational movement driven by the CMM. A camera is used to capture the images of control points at different positions, and the corresponding readings of the CMM are recorded at the same time. By establishing a separate coordinate system for each control point, the relative positions of the control points can be transformed to the differences of a series of translation vectors. Experiments show that the calibration repeatability of control point positions can reach 10 μm and the standard deviation of measurement of the whole LPCMS can reach 30 μm. A CMM is used to generate accurate translation, which provides a high accuracy basis of calibration. Through certain mathematical treatment, tremendous data acquired by moving the light pen to tens of thousands of different positions can be processed in a simple way, which can reduce the influence of random error. Therefore, the proposed method provides a high-accuracy solution of control point position calibration for LPCMS.The accuracy of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensors may be significantly impacted by exercise. We evaluated the impact of three different types of exercise on the accuracy of the Dexcom G6 sensor. Twenty-four adults with type 1 diabetes on multiple daily injections wore a G6 sensor. Participants were randomized to aerobic, resistance, or high intensity interval training (HIIT) exercise. Each participant completed two in-clinic 30-min exercise sessions. The sensors were applied on average 5.3 days prior to the in-clinic visits (range 0.6-9.9). Capillary blood glucose (CBG) measurements with a Contour Next meter were performed before and after exercise as well as every 10 min during exercise. No CGM calibrations were performed. The median absolute relative difference (MARD) and median relative difference (MRD) of the CGM as compared with the reference CBG did not differ significantly from the start of exercise to the end exercise across all exercise types (ranges for aerobic MARD 8.9 to 13.9% and MRD -6.4 to 0.5%, resistance MARD 7.7 to 14.5% and MRD -8.3 to -2.9%, HIIT MARD 12.1 to 16.8% and MRD -14.3 to -9.1%). The accuracy of the no-calibration Dexcom G6 CGM was not significantly impacted by aerobic, resistance, or HIIT exercise.
right ventricle-pulmonary artery (RV-PA) coupling assessed by measuring the tricuspid anular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE)/pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) ratio has been recently proposed as an early marker of right ventricular dysfunction in patients with heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).
As the effects of sacubitril/valsartan therapy on RV-PA coupling remain unknown, this study aimed to analyse the effect of this drug on TAPSE/PASP in patients with HFrEF. We retrospectively analysed all outpatients with HFrEF referred to our unit between October 2016 and July 2018.
At the 1-year follow-up, sacubitril/valsartan therapy was associated with a significant improvement in TAPSE (18.26 ± 3.7 vs. 19.6 ± 4.2 mm,
< 0.01), PASP (38.3 ± 15.7 vs. 33.7 ± 13.6,
< 0.05), and RV-PA coupling (0.57 ± 0.25 vs. 0.68 ± 0.30
< 0.01). These improvements persisted at the 2-year follow-up. In the multivariable analysis, the improvement in the RV-PA coupling was independent of the left ventricular remodelling.

To investigate general TF patterns, we de novo identified 156,906 TFs from 96 mammalian species. We identified more than 500 human isolated TFs that are rarely reported in human TF-to-TF networks. Mutations in the genes of these TFs were less lethal than those of connected TFs. Consequently, these isolated TFs are more tolerant of changes and have become unique during speciation. They may also serve as a source of variation for TF evolution. Reconciliation of TF-family phylogenetic trees with a mammalian species tree revealed an average of 37.8% TF gains and 15.0% TF losses over 177 million years, which implies that isolated TFs are pervasive in mammals. Compared with non-TF interacting genes, TF-interacting genes have unique TF profiles and have higher expression levels in mice than in humans. Different expression levels of the same TF-interacting gene contribute to species-specific phenotypes. Formation and loss of isolated TFs enabling unique TF profiles may provide variable switches that adjust divergent expression profiles of target genes to generate species-specific phenotypes, thereby making species unique.This study aimed to investigate the effect of social network services (SNS) on hotel chef job satisfaction, and to provide an effective strategy to reduce chef turnover and maintain sustainable economic development in hospitality. The intention was to empirically test and analyze the effect of SNS on hotel chef job satisfaction by applying the social capital theory. The social capital theory was explored and the effect of chefs' social capital on their social presence and job satisfaction was demonstrated. Furthermore, this study aimed to determine the moderation effect of customer orientation. A total of 130 surveys were collected from chefs working at Michelin-starred restaurants in Seoul, Korea. SPSS and AMOS were used to conduct statistical analyses. The outputs included exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, convergent analysis, discriminant analysis, path analysis, mediation effect analysis, and moderation effect analysis. The results illustrated that bridging social capital significantly impacts chef social presence, while bonding social capital does not significantly influence their presence. In addition, both bonding and bridging social capital positively relate to chef job satisfaction. Significant mediation and moderation effects were demonstrated on the path taken by chefs. The results of this study offer theoretical and managerial implications for hotel human resources managers to enhance chef job satisfaction.Liver fibrosis, a reversible pathological process of inflammation and fiber deposition caused by chronic liver injury and can cause severe health complications, including liver failure, liver cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Traditional diagnostic methods and drug-based therapy have several limitations, such as lack of precision and inadequate therapeutic efficiency. As a medical application of nanotechnology, nanomedicine exhibits great potential for liver fibrosis diagnosis and therapy. Nanomedicine enhances imaging contrast and improves tissue penetration and cellular internalization; it simultaneously achieves targeted drug delivery, combined therapy, as well as diagnosis and therapy (i.e., theranostics). In this review, recent designs and development efforts of nanomedicine systems for the diagnosis, therapy, and theranostics of liver fibrosis are introduced. Relative to traditional methods, these nanomedicine systems generally demonstrate significant improvement in liver fibrosis treatment. Perspectives and challenges related to these nanomedicine systems translated from laboratory to clinical use are also discussed.
