Although research suggests that social rejection expectations play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of depressive symptoms, it is not clear whether such expectations are a risk factor for depression or rather a consequence thereof. The present study addressed this issue by investigating the time-lagged bi-directional effects of social rejection expectations and depressive symptoms.

In an online survey, participants (N=347) completed measures of social rejection expectations, depressive symptoms, interpersonal competencies, and perceived social support at baseline and 2months later. The relationships between the variables were examined using path models and cross-lagged path analyses.

Cross-lagged path analyses provided evidence for a substantial positive effect of social rejection expectations at baseline on depressive symptoms at follow-up in addition to the reverse effect. A mediator analysis indicated that neither interpersonal competencies nor perceived social support mediated theseifically addressed in cognitive-behavioural treatment of depression.In this work the mechanism of methylenecyclobutane hydrogenation over titania-supported Rh, Pt and Pd catalysts was investigated using parahydrogen-induced polarization (PHIP) technique. It was found that methylenecyclobutane hydrogenation leads to formation of a mixture of reaction products including cyclic (1-methylcyclobutene, methylcyclobutane), linear (1-pentene, cis-2-pentene, trans-2-pentene, pentane) and branched (isoprene, 2-methyl-1-butene, 2-methyl-2-butene, isopentane) compounds. Generally, at lower temperatures (150-350 °C) the major reaction product was methylcyclobutane while higher temperature of 450 °C favors the formation of branched products isoprene, 2-methyl-1-butene and 2-methyl-2-butene. This study evaluates data of youth with obesity seeking care at 35 pediatric weight management (PWM) programs enrolled in the Pediatric Obesity Weight Evaluation Registry (POWER). Data obtained at a first clinical visit for youth aged 3-17 years were evaluated to (1) assess prevalence of BP above the normal range (high BP); and (2) identify characteristics associated with having high BP status. Weight status was evaluated using percentage of the 95th percentile for body mass index (%BMIp95); %BMIp95 was used to group youth by obesity class (class 1, 100% to less then 120% %BMIp95; class 2, 120% to less then 140% %BMIp95; class 3, ≥140% %BMIp95; class 2 and class 3 are considered severe obesity). Logistic regression evaluated associations with high BP. Data of 7943 patients were analyzed. We established a hereditary breast cancer clinic involving a multidisciplinary team, including a medical geneticist and a genetic counselor. Our efforts were based on consensus guidelines and included educating medical providers about the importance of genetic testing in breast cancer care and the mandatory presence of a genetics team member at the weekly Breast Tumor Board meeting. This resulted in an increase in the number of referrals of breast cancer patients for genetic testing. In this report, we describe the challenges we faced in setting up such a system in Pakistan and the measures to overcome them. There is a need to establish such hereditary breast cancer clinics, which can also be replicated at other centers in low-resource settings, to improve standardized assessment and management of the patients with hereditary breast cancer according to consensus guidelines.
Patients with a corticobasal syndrome (CBS) present a rare form of atypical parkinsonism characterized by asymmetric clinical symptoms and progressive motor and nonmotor impairment, such as apraxia, alien limb phenomenon, aphasia, myoclonus, dystonia, and cognitive impairment. At early stages, clinical differentiation between CBS and idiopathic Parkinson's disease (IPD) can be challenging.

Using high-resolution T1-weighted images and voxel-based morphometry (VBM), we sought to identify disease-specific patterns of brain atrophy in a small sample of CBS and IPD patients at early stages of disease. We acquired MR images of 17 patients diagnosed with CBS and compared them with MR images of 17 subjects affected by IPD. Images were preprocessed and analyzed using VBM.

When compared to each other, the CBS and IPD patients of our cohort showed differences in regional gray and white matter volume depending on the diagnosis, specifically in the superior longitudinal fascicle.

An online survey with an open-ended question seeking knowledge and perceptions about Q fever prevention was distributed among participants during March-September 2019. We applied thematic analysis to identify emerging themes.

Two major themes arose in each group. Students and farmers viewed Q fever vaccination as important. However, excessive cost for students was a barrier and for farmers, it was general practitioners' lack of knowledge of Q fever and access to an accredited immunisation provider.
