Non-conventional feed ingredients are receiving more interest in their ability to increase farming efficiency, sustainability and animal performance. The objective of this study was to determine the optimal rate of inclusion level of the full-fat black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) in broiler diets and to evaluate their impact on performance, nutrient digestibility, and the immune system (blood cells and intraepithelial lymphocytes). A total of 400 male day-old Ross 308 broilers were randomly assigned to 5 treatment groups with 8 replicates each. Five inclusion levels of full-fat BSFL were investigated across starter (0, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10%), grower and finisher diets (0, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%). All diets were formulated based on digestible amino acid values according to the Aviagen (2016) recommendations. A polynomial regression at different degrees was performed to analyse broiler performance parameters (body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio), nutrient digestibility, and blood cell count. Intraepithelial lymphocyte population data was analysed performing univariate linear regression. During the entire experimental period (from 2 to 42 d), BSFL inclusion levels decreased the feed conversion ratio by 10% in broilers that received 20% BSFL in their diets (P less then 0.05). Lymphocytes and white blood cell count decreased linearly by 47.7% and 35.9%, respectively, with up to 20% BSFL inclusion (P less then 0.001). A 4-fold decrease in CD3+ T lymphocytes and a 9.7-fold decrease of CD3+CD8+ intestinal cytotoxic T lymphocytes occurred in broilers fed 20% BSFL compared to the control group. In rectal cancer patients, radiotherapy in prone position using a belly board can reduce the dose to organs at risk. For this patient group we investigated inter-fraction shape variation of the mesorectal part of the clinical target volume (CTV) and determined planning target volume (PTV) margins.

Patients with rectal cancer receiving neoadjuvant (chemo)radiotherapy were eligible. For each patient a planning computed tomography (pCT) and five cone-beam CT (CBCT) scans were acquired in prone position using a belly board. The mesorectal CTV was delineated on all scans. Mesorectal shape variation was quantified relative to the pCT. PTV margins were derived locally and averaged for separate subregions of the mesorectal CTV. For each patient a total PTV was constructed using our clinical margins for mesorectal and lymph node CTVs. An artificial dose distribution conforming to this PTV was used to calculate the coverage for the mesorectal CTV using the CBCT delineations.

In 19 rectal cancer patients the derived PTV margins were smallest in the upper-lateral region (6mm) and largest in the upper-anterior region (16mm). PTV margins for the upper-anterior region were larger for female patients (19mm) compared to male patients (14mm). Clinical margins for the total PTV were sufficient for a coverage of at least 97% of the mesorectal CTV for all patients.

TMT comprises of transurethral resection of the bladder tumour (TURBT) followed by radiotherapy with concurrent radiosensitisation. TMT studies have shown neo-adjuvant chemotherapy with cisplatin-based regimens is often given to further improve survival outcomes. A hypofractionated radiotherapy regimen is preferable due to its non-inferiority in local control and late toxicities. Radiosensitisation can comprise concurrent chemotherapy (with gemcitabine, cisplatin or combination fluorouracil and mitomycin), CON (carbogen and nicotinomide) or hyperthermic treatment. Radiotherapy techniques are continuously improving and becoming more personalised. As the bladder is a mobile structure subject to volumetric changes from filling, an adaptive approach can optimise bladder coverage and reduce dose to normal tissue. Adaptive radiotherapy (ART) is an evolving field that aims to overcome this. Improved knowledge of tumour biology and advances in imaging techniques aims to further optimise and personalise treatment.The majority of cervical cancer (CC) patients are caused by the high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection Although they are preventable and controllable, the mortality rate is still high. It is essential to identify the biomarkers for early screening and diagnosis of CC to improve the prognosis of patients with CC. The conjugating enzyme 2 (E2) family members are the key components of ubiquitin protease system. However, the role of E2 family in CC remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the role of UBE2V1, a ubiquitin binding E2 enzyme variant protein (ube2v) without conserved cysteine residues required for E2s catalytic activity in CC. In this study, we first studied the expression of UBE2V1 in CC by real time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR), and then, the clinical information of 191 CC patients in TCGA database was retrieved to explore the relationship between the expression of UBE2V1 and the occurrence and development of CC by examining the translational profile and methylation, the high expression of UBE2V1 was well correlated to the poor prognosis of patients, indicating that UBE2V1 is an independent risk factor for the prognosis of CC patients. The expression of UBE2V1 was also correlated with clinical stages, tumor grades and TNM stages of CC. In addition, the expression of UBE2V1 was slightly negatively correlated with the methylation at the multiple methylation sites. our study revealed the relationship between UBE2V1 and the occurrence and development of CC from the level of transcriptional profile and DNA methylation. check details UBE2V1 is a novel candidate biomarker for the diagnosis, screening and prognosis of CC.
Coeliac disease (CD) occurs in 1% of the population, develops early in life and is severely underdiagnosed. Undiagnosed and untreated disease is associated with short-term and long-term complications. The current healthcare approach is unable to solve the underdiagnosis of CD and timely diagnosis and treatment is only achieved by active case finding. Aim to perform a case finding project to detect CD children who visit the Youth Health Care Centres (YHCCs) in a well-described region in the Netherlands to evaluate whether it is feasible, cost-effective and well accepted by the population.

Prospective intervention cohort study. Parents of all children aged 12 months and 4 years attending the YHCCs for a regular visit are asked whether their child has one or more CD-related symptoms from a standardised list. If so, they will be invited to participate in the case finding study. After informed consent, a point of care test (POCT) to assess CD-specific antibodies against tissue transglutaminase (TG2A) is perforhis study. If we prove that case finding at the YHCC is feasible, cost-effective and well accepted by the population, implementation is recommended.

Which outcomes and outcome measures are reported in interventional trials evaluating the treatment of adenomyosis?

We identified 38 studies, reporting on 203 outcomes using 133 outcome measures.

Heterogeneity in outcome evaluation and reporting has been demonstrated for several gynaecological conditions and in fertility studies. In adenomyosis, previous systematic reviews have failed to perform a quantitative analysis for central outcomes, due to variations in outcome reporting and measuring.

A systematic search of Embase, Medline and Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) was performed with a timeframe from 1950 until February 2021, following the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis (PRISMA).

Studies reporting on any uterus-sparing intervention to treat adenomyosis, both prospective and retrospective, were eligible for inclusion. Inclusion criteria were a clear definition of diagnostic criteria for adenomyosis and the modality used to make the diagnosis, a cl measures limit the value of the conducted research. The development and implementation of a core outcome set (COS) for interventional studies in adenomyosis could improve research quality. This review suggests a lack of patient-centred research in adenomyosis and people with adenomyosis should be involved in the development and implementation of the COS.

This study aimed to examine the quality of life (QoL) and health satisfaction of undergraduate university students in Sarawak during MCO and its association with socio-demographic profiles.

In this cross-sectional study, QoL and satisfaction of health of 503 undergraduate university students (63.4% females) from a public university was assessed online using the World Health Organization QoL (WHOQOL)-BREF instrument.

The overall QoL and satisfaction with health were 3.7± 0.87 and 3.9± 0.82, respectively. Male students showed significantly lower mean scores for the environmental domains than female students (63.37 ± 16.21 vs 68.10± 14.00,
