Kernel extreme learning machine (KELM) and Kriging models are proposed to predict biochar adsorption efficiency of heavy metals. Both six popular ions (Pb2+, Cd2+, Zn2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, As3+) and single ion are considered to test the accuracy of KELM and Kriging models. This study demonstrates that P. asiatica C1 is a promising host for production of 3-HP from glycerol.In the present investigation, calcium oxide solid nanocatalyst derived from the egg shell and Nannochloropsis salina were used for the production of biodiesel. The morphological characteristics and functional groups of synthesized nanocatalyst was characterized by SEM and FTIR analysis. Process variables optimization for biodiesel production was studied using RSM and ANN. The R2 values for RSM and ANN was found to be 0.8751 and 0.957 which showed that the model was significantly fit with the experimental data. The maximum FAME conversion for the synthesized nanocatalyst CaO was found to be 86.1% under optimum process conditions (nanocatalyst amount 3% (w/v); oil to methanol ratio 16 (v/v); reaction temperature 60 °C; reaction time 55 min). Concentration of FAME present in biodiesel was identified by GC-MS analysis.
Parental preconception exposure to select phenols and phthalates was previously associated with increased risk of preterm birth in single chemical analyses. However, the joint effect of phenol and phthalate mixtures on preterm birth is unknown.
We included 384 female and 211 male (203 couples) participants seeking infertility treatment in the Environment and Reproductive Health (EARTH) Study who gave birth to 384 singleton infants between 2005 and 2018. Mean preconception urinary concentrations of bisphenol A (BPA), parabens, and eleven phthalate biomarkers, including di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) metabolites, were examined. We used principal component analysis (PCA) with log-Poisson regression and Probit Bayesian Kernel Machine Regression (BKMR) with hierarchical variable selection to examine maternal and paternal phenol and phthalate mixtures in relation to preterm birth. Couple-based BKMR model was fit to assess couples' joint mixtures in relation to preterm birth.
PCA identified the same four fa BPA and DEHP, and paternal DEHP exposure before conception were positively associated with preterm birth. Both parental windows jointly contributed to the outcome. These results suggest that preterm birth may be a couple-based pregnancy outcome.

Adapting the urban environment to heat is a public health priority in the context of climate change. Cities are now considering interventions on specific urban characteristics known to contribute to the urban heat island (UHI) such as vegetation and imperviousness.
To explore how these urban characteristics influence the temperature-mortality relationship in the Paris region.
We modeled the temperature-mortality relationship for the 1300 municipalities of the region from 1990 to 2015, while including an interaction with indicators that summarize the municipalities' main urban characteristics. Four indicators were tested lack of green spaces, lack of trees, proportion of impervious surface, and overexposed population to a potential night UHI.
The shape of the temperature-mortality relationship was similar across all municipalities, but with a higher slope at the highest temperatures in municipalities with less green spaces, less trees, and more impervious soil. For instance, in Paris and its close subu coupled with other initiatives such as protecting the most vulnerable and promoting appropriate behaviors.
This study aimed to evaluate pain levels before and after Su Jok therapy.
This research was a retrospective study from data collected in September-December 2019 in Indonesia. A total of 33 females and 13 males complaining of physical pain when visiting community services' activities and treated by a certified Su Jok therapist were included in this study. Physical pain scale was analyzed before and after therapy. Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used for statistical analysis.
As many as 57 physical complaints were recorded from 46 respondents. The most common area of pain was the extremities (32%). The types of therapy were energy therapy, correspondence therapy and combined therapy (energy and correspondence therapy). Combination therapy had 100% success in reducing the pain scale. There were significant differences in pain level before and after Su Jok therapy (p<0.01).
