Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs
All-terrain stroller that is lightweight and durable. It also offers excellent maneuverability. Its one-hand fold is compact, which means it's lightweight and freestanding when folded. The cushioned seat reclines to a nearly flat position, and there's a huge storage bin and canopy. The suitability for newborns is yes and with a carrycot.
A good suspension and air-filled tires can help you navigate through rough terrain. It's also suitable for jogging, although you must wait until your baby is six or nine months old before doing this.
Ickle Bubba XL Air
This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant option for parents looking for lightweight strollers with added features. This travel system includes a lie flat carrycot for newborns and an adjustable rear and forward facing pushchair seat.
The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to comprehend why it's received such high marks from its customers. It's incredibly light - both the chassis and wheels weigh only 6.5kg - and it's also super-easy to put together. In fact I was able get the whole thing up and running in less than five minutes, which is pretty impressive considering it included attaching the fabric for the carrycot!
It has a comfortable, wide seat that is comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months) and the recline lever is very simple to use. The basket has plenty of space and I find it nice that the handle bar comes with pockets to keep your keys and phone safe.
The only issue is the handlebar is low, which can be a problem for taller parents. It's covered with a soft, comfortable leather-like material that is easy to wipe down.
Hauck Pushchair Runner
The Runner is designed for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the move. Its large pneumatic wheels are designed to be used on field and forest paths and the front wheel can be rotated and locked for extra versatility. It also has a padded 5-point safety harness and front bar to keep your little one secure on all journeys, while the parking brake reliably prevents the stroller from moving even when you rest. The seat can be repositioned to lay down and the canopy can be opened for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30 cm to accommodate dad's or mom's heights.
Whether you're going for an easy jog or a longer hike The Runner is ready to join you on all your adventures with a reclining, fully-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee smooth, safe ride. The front wheel can be locked for more stability on narrow streets and overcrowded sidewalks, and the stroller folds up easily to fit in car boots and storage spaces.
Some parents have found the Runner 2 to be a little more difficult to navigate than its predecessor and the locking system is less user-friendly (requiring two buttons on either side of the push bar). The handlebar is higher than some competitors which means it might not work for smaller parents, but overall this is a sturdy and versatile stroller that's worthy of consideration for families with active kids.
Red Kite Push Me Pace
The Pace is another great offering from Red Kite, an affordable British brand that prides itself on making well-designed and no-fuss essentials for parenting. It's the most recent - and priciest - version of their bargain light stroller collection. It's also, like the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo it's car seat-compatible which means you can use it from the beginning (the carrycot folds away).
The new Pace boasts some fantastic design elements, like the rose gold hue to the hood, chassis and stroller trims to make it stand out from its rivals. The car seat and stroller fabrics are fashionable in tan, grey, and cream. You can also choose to add a leather handle and bumper bar to match.
It's suitable for babies up to a max weight of 22kg. The stroller seat converts easily from the carrycot to the 2-in-1 reversible mode. It can be facing the parent or the world. The stroller seat offers multiple lie-back positions, soft padded leg rest support and comes with an extendable sun canopy featuring concealed zip sections, a viewing through flaps and an retractable sun visor.
What's more, when it's folded in half, the Pace measures up at 56 32 x 43 cm which is enough to qualify as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among other carriers. It's also simple to collapse, with two buttons on either side of the handlebar that just need to be pressed in and out. Then, it will pop up.
Bugaboo Fox 5
Created to be the ultimate all-terrain stroller, Bugaboo's new Fox 5 promises to do it all. Its unique chassis features a shorter wheel distance which makes it easier to maneuver than its predecessor. I tried it out with my two children - one a toddler and another eight-week-old - on the rocky roads, grassy woodland walks and even cobblestones.
The puncture-proof wheels are big - 22cm and 30cm - so they can cope with many different terrains. They also come with a handy flap that opens or closes to let more air in if you need it and is a nice touch. It's slightly larger than other pushchairs, but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when you push it across bumpy surfaces.
The fabric of the seat is machine washable, as are the frame and faux leather grips are simple to clean. It is also quieter than other pushchairs and I was comfortable in the city streets. It comes with accessory points that allow you to attach parasols and footmuffs as well as changing bags as well as snack trays and even snack tray. You can also use the hood to block out wind and rain, although it's not waterproof. The single pram can be outfitted with the Comfort Wheeled Board (not included), which gives your child more legroom. The bassinet took about 20 minutes to put together and the same amount of time to transform it into an actual seat.
UPPAbaby Ridge
No matter if you prefer an early morning run in the cool air or a moonlit stroll under the stars, the UPPAbaby Ridge makes every moment a memorable one. This all-terrain stroller is designed to keep you and the child active.
The large, foam-filled 12" and 16 "tires offer smooth rides regardless of the terrain. The patented suspension allows you to glide across trails with little impact on your child's legs and rear. And 3 wheel buggy with a performance disc allows you to stop quickly, even while running downhill.
The Ridge is at its best in every city scene from bustling farmers' markets to street musicians performing music. The spacious basket can hold everything you need and market purchases, while the massive canopy provides protection from the sun and wind. The front canopy can be unzipped to reveal two mesh peekaboos, which allow you to keep an eye on your baby.
The Ridge's reversible seat lets you to decide if your child is facing you or the world that lies ahead and its simple foot brake system is intuitive for parents who are new. The reversible handlebar is fantastic feature that lets you adjust it to suit your height. And unlike some jogging strollers The Ridge's fold is stable and stays upright when folded.
iCandy Core
The new pushchair from iCandy is truly revolutionary and comes with a host of features that are likely to impress parents. It comes with a multi-mode wheelbase and LED Visibility Hub light that is an industry first. It also comes with an integrated Ride-on Board, which saves on future costs and makes it simple for an exhausted toddler to join your family on outings.
The Core is available as an entire travel system or as a single seat. It works with the most popular car seats, such as the ones from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It also comes with the largest seat unit in the iCandy range, so it can last through your baby's first years and beyond. It's a beautifully designed pushchair that has premium knitted fabrics. The child's adjustable bumper bar and the handlebar that parents can adjust are made of soft leatherette. The calf support folds away are also very comfortable for children.
I was impressed with how easy it was to fold and collapse. It only takes one hand with the seat unit attached. It can easily fit in your boot or hallway, making it ideal for travel. The iCandy Core comes with lots of additional accessories, including a rucksack with a color match and a liner/footmuff.
