10 Life Lessons We Can Take From Three Wheeled Buggies
Three Wheeled Buggies

Whether you're seeking a buggy to jog with or just a nifty stroller to tackle strolls around the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies provide great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces.

For a smooth ride, go for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres. Look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. However, they are prone to punctures, so be prepared with a repair kit.

Sturdy frame

New data show that three-wheeled buggies that were the emblem of the noughties, which had more money than common sense, are in a steep decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easy to drive while still looking fashionable.

The bigger the wheels are, the more your buggy will be able to deal with bumpy and uneven pavements. The larger wheels on both the front and back also makes it easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on rough terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn as well as a 3 year old and found it was able to withstand grass, cobbles, rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. She said "it is sturdy to push and very solid when going over difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require occasional pumping) come with suspension built-in, which was very comfortable for my kids.

Another thing to consider is the size of the seat and shape. It is important for the seat to be large enough to allow your child to be comfortable and allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies offer an option to lie flat completely while others only allow for a parent facing one.

A great option for those who want to tackle off-road and muddy trails is the Roma Atlas. This buggy is ideal for a single child starting from birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth until age 4, and comes with a bumper and raincover, a new 5-point harness, and a big padded seat. The storage options are excellent as well, with a large basket, zip pockets inside the hood, and an easy-to-access pouch on the back of the seat unit.

Larger wheels

Larger wheels mean your buggy will be more stable on rough terrain - ideal for off-road buggies. They also allow you to maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies feature rotating front wheels that help you navigate around tight corners, while others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability with which they can be driven. This is especially useful when you bump against a tree or a kerb. The front wheel will lift slightly to prevent hitting it.

A majority of 3 wheel pushchairs come with air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle a variety of terrains and are far more flexible than 4-wheeler. They also tend to be lighter. However, they're prone to punctures, so you'll need an repair kit, spare tube and pump in your bag.

Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. Both buggies feature larger wheels that, as per MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly climb and descend kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that according to her "smoothes out bumps extremely effectively".

Buggies with bigger wheels can be quite wide, and can be difficult to fit in tight spaces. This is an issue especially if you're using it to an exercise bike or to maneuver through doorways that are narrow when you're out and out and about. The majority of models come with compact folding options that permit you to take off the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.

Easy to Manoeuvre

One of the main benefits of a three-wheel buggy is that it can be much more maneuverable particularly with a child in the back. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels turn on a dime, and are easy to move, making them ideal for difficult terrain like parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her toddler, and she said: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive on rough terrain. The front swivel wheel was particularly helpful." I was also impressed with how well it dealt with kerbs, especially when using the hand-operated brake. It was very stable in the downhills or on uneven terrain."

The only downside to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy might make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you should keep in mind when your home is a city. If this is the case then a 4-wheeled buggy could be a better option for you.

Bumper bar

Bumper bars will protect your child from bumps and scrapes when out and out and about. They are easy to put in place and will help your child feel safe and secure out and out and about.

Created to match the sleek lines of the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar features a soft and padded surface that provides a comfortable spot for your child to hang onto during walks. The sturdy construction and durable design will ensure that your child will take a stroll around town without worrying about falling out of the buggy or leaning too far in the direction of.

The fabric sling sits snugly inside the frame, not on top like the seat that is modular. This creates a lower centre of gravity for your newborn at the perfect height and also delivers excellent weight distribution to make it easier to push over curbs (it is much easier to push a stroller up and over than you think). MFM reviewer Kath discovered that it was able to cope well with cobbles and grass and is a great choice for jogging thanks to its lockable swivel front wheel that can be locked and air-filled tyres.

With a stylish and sophisticated appearance This bumper bar is sure to turn heads wherever you go. It's available in a variety of colours and finishes to suit your personal style. The bumper bar is easily installed and removed by a quick-release mechanism. Moreover the bumper bar is easy to clean, and is made of durable materials that are easy to wipe down. This makes it an excellent option for families looking for an attractive and secure accessory for their stroller.

Comfort

A 3-wheel buggy is a great off-road vehicle for handling and performance. This style of buggy is easy to steer and turn in a flash thanks to its perfect geometry engineering, weight, and distribution.

The Sport's clever design places the fabric sling seat inside the frame, instead of sitting on top as modular seats. This allows it to have lower center of gravity, which means it is easier to push, has a lighter curb-pop (you don't have to put in much effort to push the buggy's hood over a curb), and offers more stability and balance. With its massive 16'' rear wheels and lockable swivel front wheels and air filled tyres that require only occasional pumping, you get a bump free ride over rough terrain and a smoother and more comfortable jog too.

As the only pushchair that is all-terrain in our collection with a parent facing seat that can also be used as the form of a car seat or carrycot and a car seat, you can ensure the future of your family and enjoy every adventure from day dot and into the future and all within the footprint of one buggy!

But that's not the only reason to adore this buggy - our MFM reviewer Kath loved how spacious it is as well. There's a nimble, large basket that is surprising spacious for a vehicle that's this big. There's also an excellent pouch on the back of the unit, as well as two smaller mesh pockets under the hood to keep your phone and keys.
