The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about what you would expect from the size of a French door fridge that costs this much. It has a decent sized icemaker in the left door. But it's not the biggest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelving in each compartment to create a customized storage layout for the items you need to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is good-looking, too. The LED lighting adds an attractive feature. The storage bins in the door include a third shelf that can be folded down to store large items. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. The drawers are simple to open and shut, but I found the textured plastic coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the full suite of features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and offers many options for customizing. It also alerts you when a door is left open, when the refrigerator or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill which is an option that is available in a few other GE refrigerators that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to disperse simultaneously. It does offer an indicator on the display of the fridge to display how much water you have remaining, but that's not as effective as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It is designed to look like a seamless part of your kitchen Bosch's French door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment to keep vegetables and fruits fresher longer, and two compressors for maximum preservation of food. The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and produces pyramid shaped ice using minimal water. This fridge is the perfect choice for single household or kitchenettes who want an integrated look and top of the line food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for various reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just a few degrees Fahrenheit and never changing more than a fraction of a degree--this is key in preventing freezing burn. The fridge's fridge section also performed well, achieving the temperature that was set for the initial setting within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady over the course of our testing.

Bosch is known for its premium appliances and appliances, so it's not a surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app allows you to control and monitor your refrigerator remotely from your smartphone or tablet. The refrigerator is expensive, but it offers excellent features and functionality for the cost.


While the fridge is an amazing piece of equipment, it's important to know the limitations. It has a small space for shelves, so you'll have to think creatively when storing tall items. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features the standard French door design, and two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set of crisper drawers. The top right shelf can be folded down to give taller items more space. You'll also find a full-width deli drawer and an internal water dispenser.

One of the great things about this refrigerator is that the ice maker is inside the freezer, which makes it simple to move frozen ice to the fridge to be used when it is required. The freezer also has clever design features, like sliding drawers that allow you to sort your things. It also has a large container for storing frozen food and a separate one for ice.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those who want to combine the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with an efficient design. It has a capacity that is superior to counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also less expensive than the best counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good choice when you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a basic fridge that might not be as eye-catching as some of its competitors however, it does have enough features to make a an excellent choice. Its most significant feature, the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food like vegetables and meat fresher longer. It also has a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated above the two crisper bins, is another nice feature. This drawer allows you to direct some of your fridge's cooling power to this area so that you can keep food items that require extra attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.

During my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different parts of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator didn't vary much from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite rank among the best in our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of grey-bodied stainless steel with a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of repelling fingerprints and streaks, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
