This study was conducted with the objectives to (1) estimate M. bovis prevalence in samples from clinical mastitis and bulk tank milk; (2) assess genetic diversity and population structure of isolates; and (3) determine antibiotic susceptibility of isolates to nine antimicrobials. Milk samples (n = 476), including 450 clinical mastitis and 26 bulk tank milk samples from 23 farms (each with >1000 lactating cows) in 10 provinces of China were collected between May 2018 and September 2019. M. bovis cultured from milk samples were analyzed by multi-locus sequence typing. Minimum inhibitory concentrations of all isolates to nine antimicrobials were determined. Differences in minimum inhibitory concentration values were assessed by Kruskal-Wallis test with Bonferroni correction. The positive proportions of M. bovis in clinical mastitis samples and bulk tank milk samples were 39/450 (8.7%) and 11/26 (4ions levels for the sequence type 173 group (H = -19.795, P = 0.003, for clindamycin; H = -19.574, P = 0.003, for erythromycin; and H = -18.881, P = 0.003, for tylosin) by post-hoc comparisons using pairwise comparisons of mean ranks following Kruskal-Wallis test with Bonferroni correction. Hence, increasing antimicrobial resistance may have contributed to emergence of novel sequence types. #link# These data provided a baseline for elucidating genetic diversity and antibiotic susceptibility profiles of M. bovis in the main dairy-farming provinces in China.
To evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic performance of CT in patients referred for COVID19 suspicion to a French university hospital, depending on symptoms and date of onset.
From March 1st to March 28th, 214 patients having both chest CT scan and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT- PCT) within 24 h were retrospectively evaluated. Sensitivity, specificity, negative and positive predictive values of first and expert readings were calculated together with inter reader agreement, with results of RT-PCR as standard of reference and according to symptoms and onset date. link2 Patient characteristics and disease extent on CT were correlated to short-term outcome (death or intubation at 3 weeks follow-up).
Of the 214 patients (119 men, mean age 59 ± 19 years), 129 had at least one positive RT-PCR result. Sensitivity, specificity, negative and positive predictive values were 79 % (95 % CI 71-86 %), 84 %(74-91 %), 72 %(63-81 %) and 88 % (81-93 %) for initial CT reading and 81 %(74-88 %), 91 % (82-96 %), 76 % (67-84 %) and 93 % (87-97 %), for expert reading, with strong inter-reader agreement (kappa index 0.89). Considering Selleckchem Enpp-1-IN-1 with symptoms for more than 5 days, the corresponding figures were 90 %, 78 %, 80 % and 89 % for initial reading and 93 %, 88 %, 86 % and 94 % for the expert. Disease extent exceeded 25 % for 68 % and 26 % of severe and non-severe patients, respectively (p < 0.001).

The functional outcome of total knee replacement (TKR) is usually satisfying. However, patients may show functional limitations for years after surgery, which have been ascribed to impairments in balance and proprioception, mainly during standing tasks. link3 A number of instrumentations and parameters have been used, rising confusion for clinical decisions on the assessment of patients.
Which are the most widespread and consistent procedures to assess balance and proprioception following TKR?
A literature review was conducted in Pubmed, PEDro, and Cochrane database. From a total sample of 112 articles, 23 original studies published between 2008 and 2019 met inclusion criteria. The primary outcomes selected were variables related to balance and proprioception assessment in static and dynamic tasks performed with instrumented platforms. Data from papers using the same instrumentation, on patients with unilateral TKA and at least 12 months postoperatively were synthesized quantitatively in a random effect meta-nd a large variability in the instrumentation used to assess balance and proprioception in patients operated on TKR. The meta-analysis demonstrated that the Neurocom Balance Master System™ for static assessment of balance showed an acceptable consistency and can be considered as a reference for further studies. However, balance and proprioception impairments following TKR have not been widely quantified by means of instrumented platforms. Further research is needed to address this issue, and improve clinical practice.
Profound hearing loss is a public health problem with serious consequences for patient's quality of life. Some of them, submitted to cochlear implantation, revealed various postural disorders such as balance and spatial perception disorders without detail on their vestibular status.
The purpose of this preliminary study was to analyze the evolution of the balance control and geocentric perception after cochlear implantation procedure in normo-reflexic patients before the implant activation.
We assessed balance control of five patients with profound hearing loss and five healthy participants by means of computerized dynamic posturography and their geocentric perception by the subjective visual vertical test before surgery, three days and forty-five days after surgery (prior to implant activation).
Before surgery, the patients showed some difficulties to control their balance in challenged postural context without geocentric perception disorder. Patients presented an improvement in their postural accuraimplantation. This preliminary study allows for the first time the distinction between the both components of posture balance control and geocentric perception. Therefore, a specific therapeutic care targeting the rehabilitation of spatial cognition could be proposed to these patients in order to reduce their transient postural disorders.
Clinicians and footwear manufacturers often advise young children to wear soft-soled footwear when they are first learning to walk. There is limited evidence as to why this advice is given, and if soft-soled shoes are as close to barefoot as thought.
What are the differences in spatiotemporal measures of gait during walking and running in three common types of children's footwear with a soft-soled compared to barefoot in young children?
The study used a quasi-experimental design, with the condition order randomised using a Latin square sequence. Forty-seven children were recruited (2 - 4 years). Participants walked or ran the length of a GAITrite mat in a randomized order for barefoot and soft-soled sneaker, boot and sandal conditions. Linear regression analyses were used to investigate the main effect of each soft-soled footwear compared to bare feet in the different gait parameters.
For walking and running trials, cadence decreased whereas step time and stride length increased in all footwear types ootwear facilitate a similar gait to barefoot walking and running, although the clinical significance of these differences is unknown.

The study protocol was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42018088671). Two search engines (Google and Bing) were used to search for websites offering information about PFP. Two reviewers assessed the websites for credibility-related and PFP-specific content. PFP-specific content was evaluated according to agreement with current international PFP consensus statements. Based on this, content was rated as (i) Accurate/Clearly described; (ii) Partially accurate/Description lacks clarity; (iii) Inaccurate/Misleading description; or (iv) Not mentioned.
After exclusion of duplicates, forty online websites were included in our analyses. 43% of websites did not mention their source of information, and 48% did not mention if the source material was peer-reviewed. Misleading/inaccurate information was most commonly found in the definition of PFP (20% websites) and clinical examination (15%). Twenty-two percent of websites recommended surgery as treatment. The item most frequently rated as accurate/clearly described was PFP terminology (87.5%).
This study highlights missing, inaccurate or poorly described web-based PFP information. Due to the commonality of PFP and potential for improving self-management, there is an urgent need to develop more accurate and comprehensive web-based patient education resources for PFP.

Previous research demonstrated substantial associations between frailty and depression in late life, but it remains unclear whether this relationship is best explained by reciprocal influences of these variables or by common causes. This study investigated the interdependencies between frailty and depression across time by examining cross-lagged effects within individuals, while accounting for variability in baseline levels and long-term development between individuals.
We modeled longitudinal data from six panel waves gathered in the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe, covering a time period of up to 14 years. The total sample size was N=58,152 individuals aged 50 years or older. Frailty was based on a deficit accumulation frailty index and depressive symptoms were measured with the EURO-D scale. We used a latent curve model with structured residuals for statistical analysis.
The results did not demonstrate relevant cross-lagged effects of frailty and depression at the within-person level. However, within-person increases in frailty were accompanied by within-person increases in depression at the same point in time. At the between-person level, it showed that individuals with higher levels and steeper trajectories in frailty also tend to show higher levels and steeper trajectories in depression.
These findings question the notion that frailty and depression reciprocally influence each other over the course of time, but rather indicate that frailty and depression might be both affected by common causes, in both the short and the long term.

There is substantial evidence for the predictive value of single-item selfrated health measures for a range of health outcomes. Past research has found an association between personality traits and self-rated health. However, there has not been a multi-cohort large-scale study that has examined this link, and few studies have examined the association between personality and change in self-rated health.
To examine the concurrent and longitudinal association between personality and self-rated health.
Participants were individuals aged from 16 to 107 years (N>46,000) drawn from eight large longitudinal samples from the US, Europe, and Japan. Brief measures of the five-factor model of personality, a single item measure of self-rated health, and covariates (age, sex, and education, and race) were assessed at baseline and self-rated health was measured again 3-20 years later.
In cross-sectional analyses, higher neuroticism was related to lower self-rated health whereas higher extraversion, openness, agreeableness and conscientiousness were associated with better self-rated health across most samples.
