The peak value of convection heat corresponded to the foot value of the radiation heat, and the relative error of them was 1.9%-2.2%. The dynamic characteristics of radiation heat and convection heat had important reference for the study of dynamic heat transfer of building surfaces under cyclic heat flow.
Recently, two multicenter randomized controlled trials (RCT) failed to show a significantly beneficial effect of endovascular treatment (EVT) in patients with acute basilar artery occlusion (BAO). However, both trials suffered from equipoise issues which may have hindered the validity of the trial results. Therefore, additional RCT studies are needed to explore the potential benefit of EVT in patients presenting with BAO.

ATTENTION is an investigator-initiated, multicenter, prospective, randomized, controlled clinical trial with open-label treatment and blinded outcome assessment (PROBE) of EVT versus best medical management (BMM). The primary effect parameter is a modified Rankin Score of 0-3 at day 90.

ATTENTION will provide evidence for the efficacy and safety of EVT in stroke patients within 12 h after BAO.

ClinicalTrials.gov NCT04751708.
ClinicalTrials.gov NCT04751708.Cancer incidence is rising rapidly in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Dietary intake is an established risk factor for certain cancers but only a few epidemiological studies have been conducted in SSA. This study systematically reviewed and summarized the published literature on this issue and identified gaps that can be addressed in future research. We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) and literature searched was conducted until 11/2/2021. Out of the 5,457 potential references, we reviewed 19 eligible studies 17 case-controls, two cross-sectionals and no cohort study. South Africa and Kenya conducted the majorities of the studies. The commonest studied cancers were esophageal (9/19), colorectal (4/19) and breast (4/19). Only four studies utilized a validated Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Although most studies (16/19) reported associations between dietary intake and cancer risks, they were lacking important confounders including total energy intake, multivitamin intake, body fat measures, physical-activity, smoking, and alcohol. Despite rapidly expanding cases of cancer associated with diet, the existent evidence on diet-cancer relationship is too scarce to deduce solid conclusions. There is a need for large cohorts with comprehensive datasets, validated dietary instruments while using advanced statistical analyses that can provide further insights into the imperative links between African diet and cancer risk.Supplemental data for this article is available online at https//doi.org/10.1080/01635581.2022.2032217 .At present, in order to solve noise pollution, many experts are studying methods to improve the noise reduction performance of sound barriers and acoustic devices. However, the development of sound-absorbing structures under external noise environments with multiple frequencies has not made significant progress. To improve the sound absorption performance (SAP) and sound insulation performance (SIP) of structures, a novel cavity-imitating sound-absorbing structure model was established based on the multi-cavity resonance structure of conches. By performing experiments with an impedance tube and finite element simulation, the internal design of, and experimental results from a conch-imitating cavity structure (CICS) were analysed. In addition, a variety of structural parameters were investigated and the application of the sound absorber was analyzed. The analytical results showed that the CICS exhibits excellent SAP at low and intermediate frequencies. The peak frequency and sound absorption bandwidth can be changed and optimised by adjusting the structural parameters. The results show that the structure can effectively improve the sound absorption and insulation performance of the sound barrier to achieve the purpose of improving the acoustic performance, and proposes a new solution for the realisation of sound absorption and noise reduction in a multi-noise environment.
The COVID19 pandemic has caused a redistribution of hospital resources. Prioritization strategies are needed in order to organize elective surgeries. We compared the new Medically Necessary Time-Sensitive score (MeNTS) and its factors (disease, procedure, and patient factors) between operated and deferred cases, and also to a subjective priority scale in the Urology department.

The MeNTS score and a subjective prioritization scale were prospective applied to all patients included on the surgical waiting list from March 10 to September 9, 2020. Mann-Whitney
test was used to compare MeNTS scores between operated and non-operated groups. Kruskal-Wallis test was used to compare MeNTS scores between three subjective priority groups.

A total of 150 cases were operated while 100 were deferred. Median total MeNTS score in the operated group was 39.5 whereas in the non-operated group it was 38 (
= 0.135). Median disease factors score was 9.5 in the operated group and 11 in the non-operated group(
= 0.033). Median procedure factors score was 10 in both groups (
0.02). Median patient factors score was 17 in the operated group and 18 in the non-operated group (
0.210). Disease factors displayed a significant difference between the three subjective priority groups.

Total MeNTS score does not show significant differences between operated and non-operated patients. However, we demonstrate a relationship between MeNTS disease factors and the operated group as well as with the subjective priority scale.

Many factors might affect SARS-CoV-2 transmission, but their relevance is not well established. The objectives were to assess the secondary attack rate (SAR) and the risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 transmission from confirmed index cases to their close contacts in household and non-household settings.

This cohort study included the close contacts of SARS-CoV-2 infected cases confirmed between May and December 2020 in Navarre, Spain. Epidemiological and clinical variables of the index case and close contacts were collected. The SAR was calculated, and the independent effect of each variable on the transmission risk was evaluated by logistic regression.

A total of 59,900 close contacts of 20,048 index cases were studied, and 53.6% were household contacts. SAR was 34.9% overall, 46.8% in household contacts and 21.1% in non-household contacts. The risk of transmission was higher in household setting (adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 2.96, 95% CI 2.84-3.07), from symptomatic index cases (aOR 1.50, 95% CI 1.43-1.58), imex cases, close contacts with lower income level and comorbidities should be considered to address preventive interventions.
D3 lymphadenectomy for right colon cancer improves oncological outcomes. This meta-analysis aimed to compare operation data, histopathological characteristics, perioperative conditions, and long-term survival after D3 and D2 lymphadenectomy in right hemicolectomy.

We searched PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library for relevant articles (up to March 31, 2020). Random-effects and fixed-effects meta-analysis models were used. Review Manager (RevMan) version 5.3 and Stata version 15.1 were used for pooled estimates.

After screening 714 articles, 7 articles with a total of 1368 patients were eligible for inclusion. Compared with D2, D3 lymphadenectomy improves results in terms of blood loss (weighted mean difference [WMD] = -20.63, 95% confidence interval [CI] -28.19 to -13.16,
< .01), harvested lymph nodes (WMD = 8.86, 95% CI 7.74 to 9.98,
< .01), 3-year overall survival (OS) (hazard ratio [HR] = 2.03, 95% CI 1.20 to 3.43,
< .01), 5-year OS (HR = 2.22, 95% CI 1.15 to 4.30,
= .02), and 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) (HR = 2.16, 95% CI 1.19 to 3.90,
= .01). There was no significant difference regarding operation time, anastomosis leakage, wound infection, overall morbidity, postoperative hospital stay, mortality, length of dissected colon, and 3-year DFS (
>= .05).

It is suggested in this review that D3 lymphadenectomy is superior to D2 lymphadenectomy in terms of blood loss, harvested lymph nodes, 3-year OS, 5-year OS, and 5-year DFS. The conclusion must be drawn with caution due to the limited number of included studies. Further RCTs are needed for stronger evidence.

A proposed mediator is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase 2 (Nox2), a major source of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the brain. To assess the role of Nox2 in VCI, we studied a tractable model with white matter pathology and cognitive impairment induced by bilateral carotid artery stenosis (BCAS). Mice with genetic deletion of Nox2 (Nox2 KO) were compared to wild-type (WT) following BCAS. Sustained BCAS over 12 weeks in WT mice induced Nox2 expression, indices of microvascular inflammation and oxidative damage, along with white matter pathology culminating in a marked cognitive impairment, which were all protected by Nox2 genetic deletion. Neurovascular coupling was impaired in WT mice post-BCAS and restored in Nox2 KO mice. Increased vascular expression of chemoattractant mediators, cell-adhesion molecules and endothelial activation factors in WT mice post-BCAS were ameliorated by Nox2 deficiency. The clinical relevance was confirmed by increased vascular Nox2 and indices of microvascular inflammation in human post-mortem subjects with cerebral vascular disease. Our results support Nox2 activity as a critical determinant of VCI, whose targeting may be of therapeutic benefit in cerebral vascular disease.
Cytarabine is one of the main chemotherapy drugs used to treat hematological malignancies. Neurotoxicity is an increasingly recognized adverse effect of high-dose cytarabine therapy and occurs in 10% to 25% of patients. There is very little experience with cytarabine retreatment following neurotoxicity.

We report a case of a man who was diagnosed with chemotherapy-induced cerebellar syndrome. CRT-0105446 He was treated with high doses of cytarabine.

The patient was successfully retreated at full dose after experiencing cytarabine-induced cerebellar toxicity during the first cycle of a chemotherapy regimen. He did not develop any neurological complications and successfully underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. He is currently in complete remission and free of disease.

This original case report assesses the possibility of retreatment without the need for dose reduction.
