PCA-ML combination outperformed ML-only by an average of 18.5% up to 45%. The framework generates rice yield predictions 1 to 2 months ahead of the harvest with an average of 5% error, displaying its reliability. This paper presents a solution for building awareness of the electromagnetic situation in cognitive mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) using the cooperative spectrum sensing method. Signal detection is performed using energy detectors with noise level estimation. Based on the evidence theory, the fusion center decides on the particular channel occupancy, which can process incomplete and unambiguous input data. Next, a reinforced machine learning algorithm estimates the usefulness of particular channels for the MANET transmission and creates backup channels list that could be used in case of interferences. Initial simulations were performed using the MATLAB environment, and next an OMNET-based MAENA high fidelity simulator was used. Performed simulations showed a significant increase in sensing efficiency compared to sensing performed using simple data fusion rules. In Chinese sentiment analysis tasks, many existing methods tend to use recurrent neural networks (e.g., long short-term memory networks and gated recurrent units) and standard one-dimensional convolutional neural networks (1D-CNN) to extract features. This is because a recurrent neural network can deal with the order dependence of the data to a certain extent and the one-dimensional convolution can extract local features. Although these methods have good performance in sentiment analysis tasks, recurrent neural networks (RNNs) cannot be parallelized, resulting in time-inefficiency, and the standard 1D-CNN can only extract a single sample feature, with the result that the feature information cannot be fully utilized. To this end, in this paper, we propose a multichannel two-dimensional convolutional neural network based on interactive features and group strategy (MCNN-IFGS) for Chinese sentiment analysis. Firstly, we no longer use word encoding technology but use character-based integer encoding to retain more fine-grained information. Besides, in character-level vectors, the interactive features of different elements are introduced to improve the dimensionality of feature vectors and supplement semantic information so that the input matches the model network. In order to ensure that more sentiment features are learned, group strategies are used to form several feature mapping groups, so the learning object is converted from the traditional single sample to the learning of the feature mapping group, so as to achieve the purpose of learning more features. Finally, multichannel two-dimensional convolutional neural networks with different sizes of convolution kernels are used to extract sentiment features of different scales. The experimental results on the Chinese dataset show that our proposed method outperforms other baseline and state-of-the-art methods.Availability of efficient development tools for data-rich IoT applications is becoming ever more important. Such tools should support cross-platform deployment and seamless and effective applicability in a variety of domains. In this view, we assessed the versatility of an edge-to-cloud system featuring Measurify, a framework for managing smart things. The framework exposes to developers a set of measurement-oriented resources that can be used in different contexts. The tool has been assessed in the development of end-to-end IoT applications in six Electronic and Information Technologies Engineering BSc theses that have highlighted the potential of such a system, both from a didactic and a professional point of view. The main design abstractions of the system (i.e., generic sensor configuration, simple language with chainable operations for processing data on the edge, seamless WiFi/GSM communication) allowed developers to be productive and focus on the application requirements and the high-level design choices needed to define the edge system (microcontroller and its sensors), avoiding the large set-up times necessary to start a solution from scratch. The experience also highlighted some usability issues that will be addressed in an upcoming release of the system.Polarization (POL) navigation is inspired by insects' behavior of precepting celestial polarization patterns to orient themselves. It has the advantages of being autonomous and having no accumulative error, which allows it to be used to correct the errors of the inertial navigation system (INS). LY3473329 The integrated navigation system of the POL-based solar vector with INS is capable of 3D attitude determination. However, the commonly used POL-based integrated navigation system generally implements the attitude update procedure without considering the performance difference with different magnitudes of the angles between the solar-vector and body-axes of the platform (S-B angles). When one of the S-B angles is small enough, the estimated accuracy of the attitude angle by the INS/POL is worse than that of the strapdown inertial navigation system. To minimize the negative impact of POL in this situation, an attitude angular adaptive partial feedback method is proposed. The S-B angles are used to construct a partial feedback factor matrix to adaptively adjust the degree of error correction for INS. The results of simulation and real-world experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can improve the accuracy of 3D attitude estimation compared with the conventional all-feedback method for small S-B angles especially for yaw angle estimation.Decoupled data and control planes in Software Defined Networks (SDN) allow them to handle an increasing number of threats by limiting harmful network links at the switching stage. As storage, high-end servers, and network devices, Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is designed to replace purpose-built network elements with VNFs (Virtualized Network Functions). A Software Defined Network Function Virtualization (SDNFV) network is designed in this paper to boost network performance. Stateful firewall services are deployed as VNFs in the SDN network in this article to offer security and boost network scalability. The SDN controller's role is to develop a set of guidelines and rules to avoid hazardous network connectivity. Intruder assaults that employ numerous socket addresses cannot be adequately protected by these strategies. Machine learning algorithms are trained using traditional network threat intelligence data to identify potentially malicious linkages and probable attack targets. Based on conventional network data (DT), Bayesian Network (BayesNet), Naive-Bayes, C4.5, and Decision Table (DT) algorithms are used to predict the target host that will be attacked. The experimental results shows that the Bayesian Network algorithm achieved an average prediction accuracy of 92.87%, Native-Bayes Algorithm achieved an average prediction accuracy of 87.81%, C4.5 Algorithm achieved an average prediction accuracy of 84.92%, and the Decision Tree algorithm achieved an average prediction accuracy of 83.18%. There were 451 k login attempts from 178 different countries, with over 70 k source IP addresses and 40 k source port addresses recorded in a large dataset from nine honeypot servers. In the limited frequency spectrum shared by various wireless communication technologies, cross-technology interference is an important factor which determines communication performance. A variety of coexistence methods to reduce the impact of this interference have been studied, but most of them cannot explicitly coordinate the shared spectrum and are not practical. This paper presents an explicit coexistence mechanism using cross-technology communication among heterogeneous wireless technologies. This mimics "carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance" (CSMA/CA) via bidirectional cross-technology communication, which is called CTC-CSMA/CA. It allows communication between heterogeneous wireless technologies in order to achieve CSMA/CA. This accurately assigns required channel resources by directly sending and receiving feedback. CTC-CSMA/CA is a highly compatible technology because it does not require any modification to the IEEE 802.11 standard or any extra hardware. In addition, Zigbee can operate with a low duty cycle by synchronizing it to a periodic Wi-Fi beacon. We implemented CTC-CSMA/CA using a commodity Wi-Fi access point and a commercial Zigbee platform. Our experiments showed that the channels are coordinated more accurately by our method, which significantly improves Zigbee throughput, than by conventional schemes. We expect the proposed scheme to be an important application case in designing future cross-technology communication. In this paper we present the development of photonic integrated circuit (PIC) biosensors for the label-free detection of six emerging and endemic swine viruses, namely African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV), Classical Swine Fever Virus (CSFV), Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PPRSV), Porcine Parvovirus (PPV), Porcine Circovirus 2 (PCV2), and Swine Influenza Virus A (SIV). The optical biosensors are based on evanescent wave technology and, in particular, on Resonant Rings (RRs) fabricated in silicon nitride. The novel biosensors were packaged in an integrated sensing cartridge that included a microfluidic channel for buffer/sample delivery and an optical fiber array for the optical operation of the PICs. Antibodies were used as molecular recognition elements (MREs) and were selected based on western blotting and ELISA experiments to ensure the high sensitivity and specificity of the novel sensors. MREs were immobilized on RR surfaces to capture viral antigens. Antibody-antigen interactions were transduced via the RRs to a measurable resonant shift. Cell culture supernatants for all of the targeted viruses were used to validate the biosensors. Resonant shift responses were dose-dependent. The results were obtained within the framework of the SWINOSTICS project, contributing to cover the need of the novel diagnostic tools to tackle swine viral diseases.Hand gesture recognition is one of the most effective modes of interaction between humans and computers due to being highly flexible and user-friendly. A real-time hand gesture recognition system should aim to develop a user-independent interface with high recognition performance. Nowadays, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) show high recognition rates in image classification problems. Due to the unavailability of large labeled image samples in static hand gesture images, it is a challenging task to train deep CNN networks such as AlexNet, VGG-16 and ResNet from scratch. Therefore, inspired by CNN performance, an end-to-end fine-tuning method of a pre-trained CNN model with score-level fusion technique is proposed here to recognize hand gestures in a dataset with a low number of gesture images. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is evaluated using leave-one-subject-out cross-validation (LOO CV) and regular CV tests on two benchmark datasets. A real-time American sign language (ASL) recognition system is developed and tested using the proposed technique.
