The drawers are simple to open and close, but I found the plastic's textured coatings a bit hard on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the complete set of features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and offers a ton of customization options. It also sends you notifications when the door is unlocked and when the freezer or fridge needs to be defrosted, and when the filter needs to be changed.

The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give tall items more space. There's also a full-width storage drawer for food items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it simple to transfer frozen ice as needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers that can help you better organize the placement of your items. It has a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate bin for ice.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal option for those looking to combine the benefits of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is above average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a little cheaper than the top counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator


This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option for those looking for a French-door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a simple fridge that may not be as appealing as its rivals however it has enough features to make it a suitable choice. Its most notable feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large water dispenser as well as a good ice maker that operates quickly.

Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. During my tests, the refrigerator's temperatures were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ much from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but doesn't quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be paired with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing even when compared to the glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
