The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is roughly on what you would expect from a French door refrigerator that costs this much. It also has an adequate-sized icemaker packed into the left-hand door, although it isn't the largest I've seen.

You can adjust the shelving in each compartment to create a customized storage arrangement for whatever you have to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is good-looking, too. The LED lighting is a nice feature. The storage bins in the door come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall objects. The drawers are equipped with temperature controls so you can set them to Beverage, Meat, or Deli settings. The drawers are simple to open and shut however I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the full suite of features you'd expect from a refrigerator at this price, including Wi-Fi and app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and lets you manage your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also offers a lot of customization options. It also gives you notifications when doors are left open, when the fridge or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice it GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill, an option that is available in a few GE refrigerators that allows users to select the number of cups they would like to dispense. It also has an indicator on the fridge display to show how much water you have remaining, but that's not as effective as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Designed to look as a seamless element of your kitchen Bosch's French door refrigerator is a standout. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer periods, and two compressors to preserve food. The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and produces the shape of a pyramid using only water. This refrigerator is ideal for a small household or a kitchenette that wants an elegant design and top of the best food preservation.

This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for a few reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and never moving more than a fraction of one degree. This is crucial to avoiding freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also did well. It reached the initial temperature set within a matter of hours, and remained at the temperature throughout our testing.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the fridge has the standard French-door layout, with gallon-sized door bins on each door as well as two rows of spill-capture shelves and a set more spacious drawers. The top right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more space. You'll also find a full-width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker, making it easy to transfer the frozen ice as needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that help better organize the placement of items. It also has a huge bin that holds plenty of frozen food items and an additional container for storing ice.

Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. It lets you control the fridge's temperature and lighting via your smartphone. It's an easy way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, especially when not at home.

Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. The fridge took a bit longer to defrost food and chill it than other models we test. This could be due to the larger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this fridge. They have handles that are sunken on the front, which allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, but they're still difficult for taller people to steer closed without slamming the doors. french door fridge freezers would have been much better if they had a front-mounted handles.

It's also less expensive than the best counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't break the bank this Frigidaire is a solid option. It has a simple design that isn't as visually striking as some of the competition but it does have enough features to make it a solid pick. Its most important feature is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser.

Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer allows you to redirect some of the fridge's cooling power to this area so that you can keep food items that require extra attention. This feature is adjustable using an outside slider that is located inside the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.

In my tests, I discovered that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the fridge didn't differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a solid performance but does not quite make it to the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from gray-bodied stainless with a "smudge resistant" finish. It does a great job of removing streaks and fingerprints even when compared to the shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
