Genome-Wide Identification and also Expression Profiling of the BZR Transcription Factor Gene Family throughout Nicotiana benthamiana.
The nature of defects and organic ligands can fine-tune the absorption energy (Eabs) of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which is crucial for photocatalytic reactions; however, the relevant studies are in their infancy. Herein, a series of typical MOFs of the UiO family (UiO-6x-NH2, x = 8, 7, and 6) with ligands of varied lengths and amino-group-modified defects were synthesized and employed to explore their performance for photocatalytic CO2 reduction. Sample UiO-66-NH2-2ABA (2ABA = 3,5-diamino-benzoate) with the shortest dicarboxylate ligand and two amino-group-modified defects exhibits superior photocatalytic activity due to the lowest Eabs. The CO yield photocatalyzed by UiO-66-NH2-2ABA is 17.5 μmol g-1 h-1, which is 2.4 times that of UiO-68-NH2-BA (BA = benzoate) with the longest ligand and no amino group involved in the defects. Both the experiments and theoretical calculations show that shorter dicarboxylate ligands and more amino groups result in smaller Eabs, which is favorable for photocatalytic reactions. This study provides new insights into boosting the photocatalytic efficiency by modulating the defects and ligands in MOFs.A series of mesoporous CeZrTiOx catalysts were prepared by a facile hydrothermal method. Compared with CeTiOx catalysts synthesized under the same conditions, the catalytic activity and anti-SO2 performance of the Ce1Zr1TiOx catalyst are greatly improved, and at the gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) of 60 000 h-1, the NOx removal efficiency is maintained at 90% in the temperature range of 290-500 °C. The catalytic effect of ZrO2 on the Ce-Ti catalyst NH3-SCR activity was elucidated through a series of characterizations. The results revealed that the doping of Zr could significantly improve and optimize the structure of Ce-Ti catalysts. At the same time, due to the doping of Zr, the synergistic effect between Ce and Zr in the CeZrTiOx catalyst can effectively increase oxygen mobility, total acid content, and surface adsorbed oxygen species and lead to a larger pore volume. In addition, the introduction of ZrO2 made the transformation of Ce4+ into Ce3+ more obvious, and the 2Ce4+ + Zr2+ ↔ 2Ce3+ + Zr4+ reaction greatly improved the reducibility of Ce1Zr1TiOx. Among them, the improvement of SCR performance and H2O/SO2 tolerance is due to the electronic interaction between Zr and Ce.Growing attention has been attached to hard carbon in sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). However, hard carbon from individual precursors tends to exhibit an inferior rate capability due to its limited interlayer distance. Here, a coupled strategy is designed to prepare hard carbon microspheres (HCMSs) via the pyrolysis of a highly branched polymer network formed instantaneously between two interactive precursors during the atomization of the spray drying process. The combined precursors with a tunable cross-linked structure prefer to generate a large interlayer spacing (0.399 nm) and abundant closed pore structure by suppressing the graphitization of precursors during the carbonization, relative to the individual precursor, which contributes greatly to the ion diffusion kinetics. PF-06424439 mw Benefiting from the unique structure, HCMS exhibits an impressively high reversible specific capacity of 373.4 mA h g-1 in SIBs and high initial Coulombic efficiency of 88%, retaining 90.2% of the initial capacity even after 150 cycles, which presented comparable capacities with commercial graphite in lithium-ion batteries. Besides, excellent rate capability was also demonstrated with HCMSs (250 and 117 mA h g-1 at 300 and 600 mA g-1). Notably, the interlayer distance and closed pore structure are tunable just by adjusting the ratio of the two precursors. The tunable and extendable fabrication process, together with its amazing high carbon yield of 48 wt % (1400 °C) and high tap density close to 0.8 g cm-3, makes this strategy promising in the practical application for SIBs.Non-heme iron dioxygenases catalyze vital processes for human health related to the biosynthesis of essential products and the biodegradation of toxic metabolites. Often the natural product biosyntheses by these non-heme iron dioxygenases is highly regio- and chemoselective, which are commonly assigned to tight substrate-binding and positioning. However, recent high-level computational modeling has shown that substrate-binding and positioning is only part of the story and long-range electrostatic interactions can play a major additional role.In this Account, we review and summarize computational viewpoints on the high regio- and chemoselectivity of α-ketoglutarate-dependent non-heme iron dioxygenases and how external perturbations affect the catalysis. In particular, studies from our groups have shown that often a regioselectivity in enzymes can be accomplished by stabilization of the rate-determining transition state for the reaction through external charges, electric dipole moments, or local electric field ivity and specificity and trigger a fit-for-purpose biocatalyst for unique biotransformations.
Mycoplasma genitalium is an emerging cause of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and has been implicated in non-gonococcal urethritis in men and cervicitis in woman. The aim of this study is determinate the incidence and pathogenicity of M. genitalium within the diagnosis of STIs detected from clinical samples in a third level hospital.

A total of 8,473 samples from endocervix, urethra, vagina, rectum and others were processed applying Allpex STI Essential Assay. More than 190 records were reviewed to determinate M. genitalium pathogenicity.

M. genitalium was detected in a rate 2.8%. Co-infections were detected in 20% of the patients.

M. link2 genitalium is considered a STI emerging pathogen thanks to the renewal of multiplex-PCR tests although with a low incidence in our approach. Emerging from our experience and the institutional recommendations both detection of acid nucleic techniques (NAATs) and gonococcal culture might be implemented accurately and coexist to adequate prescriptions.

Back pain (BP) is one of the most common problems seen by general practitioners. link3 The aim of this pilot registry study was to evaluate the effects of Pycnogenol
(French Maritime Pine Bark extract) on pain, mobility and muscle spasm in patients with recurring episodes of back pain without any other clinical condition.

The registry follow-up lasted 3 weeks. Subjects used either SM (standard management), including mild exercise and 3 days of resting or immobilization - or SM+Pycnogenol
200 mg/day (4 cps/day).

Eighty-two subjects were included in the study, 23 took Pycnogenol
and 59 were in the SM group. No safety problems or tolerability problems were observed with Pycnogenol
or with the SM. The two groups, SM and SM+Pycnogenol
, were comparable at inclusion. A prevalent localization to the lower part of the back/spine was observed in all patients of both groups. The improvement in Karnofsky performance status Scale - expressing the global physical capacity of the individuals - during the 3 weeks opplementary management in healthy subjects with idiopathic BP. Mobility, pain, general physical capacity and oxidative stress improved in only a week with further improvements up to 4 weeks in most patients; results appear to be better and faster with Pycnogenol® supplementation than with SM alone. The magnification of images provided by minimally-invasive surgery (MIS) allows a very sharp and precise dissection of the hepatic hilum, allowing to overcome the technical complexity of surgery of perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (PHC). Recently, the feasibility and reproducibility of MIS for PHC are reported within centers with adequate expertise and respecting the cornerstones of oncological adequacy, it provides short term advantages in a selected population of patients. The video reports the case of a patient with PHC involving the right biliary duct and requiring right hepatectomy with biliary confluence and segment 1 resection, with associated lymphadenectomy. Current evidences, together with feasibility and reproducibility of the technique shown in this video, appear promising and constitute a good prerequisite for the further implementation of this approach to improve patients outcome while following the principles of surgical oncology in hilar cholangiocarcinoma.
Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation (ALPPS) has evolved as a treatment strategy for patients with liver tumors who are not amenable for upfront hepatectomy because of an insufficient future liver remnant (FLR). Aim of this study was to test the applicability of ultrasound guided parenchyma sparing surgery to ALPPS concept, by non-anatomically shifting the plane of transection in favor of FLR, resulting in a new technical variant of ALPPS, entitled parenchyma sparing ALPPS (psALPPS).

Patients who could not safely undergo right trisectionectomy ALPPS because of insufficient FLR were considered eligible for psALPPS, consisting in liver partition through segment 4 using ultrasound guidance.

Between April 2017 and April 2021, five patients with median age of 68 years (range 66-78), four male and one female, underwent psALPPS for colorectal liver metastases (N=2), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (N=2), and hepatocellular carcinoma (N=1). Standardized FLR (sFLR) for segments 2-3 before stage 1 surgery would have been a median of 11.6%. PsALPPS could double the sFLR at stage 1 resulting in an increase of ps-sFLR from a median of 22.7% (at stage 1) to 34.0% (at stage 2) after a median interstage interval of 15 days. All patients tolerated surgery well and no major complications were recorded.

Applying the principles of parenchyma sparing surgery to ALPPS offers the advantage to maximize FLR and simultaneously reduce ischemic injury of segment 4 compared to conventional ALPPS. In this way, psALPPS may markedly increase resectability while reducing morbidity.

IgG4-RD was initially recognized in 2001 in a case of autoimmune pancreatitis. However, the disease was not limited to the pancreas but involved other organs such as the bile ducts, lacrimal glands, lymph nodes and salivary glands. IgG4-RD is rarely seen with an estimated incidence of 0.2 to 1/100.000 as reported in Japan, but with minimal to no incidence data have been published in Western countries. We hereby report a case of an IgG4-related mass arising from the nasolacrimal duct, masquerading as a sinonasal mass.Stressful or traumatic life events can lead to emergence of mood episodes. Events such as migration, relocation, job loss, bankruptcy, economic loss, divorce, natural disasters, accidental injury, or the loss of a loved one can trigger the first episode of bipolar disorder. After such life events, symptoms of depressive episodes often appear. Funeral mania, on the other hand, is defined as the emergence of manic episodes following the death of a close family member. Information on funeral mania, which occurs shortly after the loss of a loved one, is limited with a few case reports. In this study, a 26-year-old female patient who presented with the symptoms of a manic episode for the first time after her father's death and who had no previous psychiatric disease or treatment history was presented in the light of findings in the literature. It is noteworthy that the patient, who was followed up with the diagnosis of bipolar disorder (mania period) according to DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, had a temporal closeness between her mood symptoms and her father's death, and had not developed such a reaction to previous traumatic life events.
