Voldemort akhirnya membunuh Severus Snape, dengan harapan ia memiliki tongkat Elder sepenuhnya, sejak Snape membunuh Dumbledore. Ketika Harry menyerahkan dirinya kepada Voldemort untuk mati, kekuatan cinta ibunya kembali menyelamatkannya. Dengan darah Harry di tubuh Voldemort, Harry tidak bisa dibunuh oleh Voldemort, dan jiwa Voldemort di tubuhnya hancur, meski ia pura-pura mati.
Kembali ke Hogwarts. Harry mengungkapkan bahwa dirinya masih hidup, dan pada saat inilah, Nagini, horcrux terakhir, dimusnahkan oleh Neville Longbottom menggunakan pedang Godric Gryffindor. Harry pun menyatakan bahwa ialah pemilik tongkat Elder sebenarnya, karena ia memenangkannya dari Draco Malfoy, yang memiliki tongkat itu setelah melucuti Dumbledore. Dengan tongkat Draco, ia mengalahkan Voldemort dengan memantulkan Kutukan kematian kepada Voldemort dengan mantra Expelliarmus.
Voldemort tewas, dan mayatnya dibaringkan jauh dari para pejuang Hogwarts yang mati melawannya. Sudah selesai ceritanya, silahkan yang mau bertanya segera bertanya. Dunia sihir pun kembali aman dan penuh kedamaian seperti sediakala. The end.
