Consistent with objectification theory, women may have made smaller physical movements in an attempt to hide or cover up the body. Findings could have implications for promoting positive experiences during physical activity for women, such as in sport, exercise or rehabilitation settings.A simple, yet highly versatile setup is presented for benchtop NMR analyses of gases at high-pressure. It consists mostly of commercial parts and includes multiple safety features while maintaining a small size to fit into a 1.20 m wide fume hood. Pressures up to 200 bar can be adjusted independently of the sample gas-bottle pressure in a matter of seconds. Mixtures of multiple gases can be produced in situ in a mixing chamber, which also serves to adjust the pressure. The high-pressure hardware and benchtop NMR spectrometer have been tested for long-term stability and repeatability of the measurements. The versatility of the setup is demonstrated by analyzing hydrocarbon-gas with attention to linewidths as well as their 1H relaxation times, by improving the resolution of 1H NMR spectra from solid polymers with pressurized CO2, and by visualizing the ingress of gaseous and supercritical methane into liquid benzene. Two main types of endurance runners have been identified aerial runners (AER), who have a larger flight time, and terrestrial runners (TER), who have a longer ground contact time. The purpose of this study was to assess the neuromuscular characteristics of plantar flexors between AER and TER runners. Twenty-four well-trained runners participated in the experiment. They were classified either in a TER or AER group according to the Volodalen® scale. Plantar flexors' maximal rate of force development (RFD) and maximal voluntary contraction force (MVC) were assessed. Percutaneous electrical stimulation was delivered to the posterior tibial nerve to evoke maximal M-waves and H-reflexes of the triceps surae muscles. These responses, as well as voluntary activation, muscle potentiation, and V-waves, were recorded by superimposing stimulations to MVCs. RFD was significantly higher in AER than in TER, while MVC remained unchanged. This was accompanied by higher myoelectrical activity recorded in the soleus muscle. While M-waves and other parameters remained unchanged, maximal H-reflex was significantly higher in AER than in TER, still in soleus only. The present study raised the possibility of different plantar flexors' neuromuscular characteristics according to running profile. These differences seemed to be focused on the soleus rather than on the gastrocnemii.Breast cancer (BC) is the most commonly diagnosed malignancy and the leading cause of cancer-related mortality among females. Over 90 % of the cases of death in BC patients are attributed to tumor cell metastasis. Therefore, it is urgently needed to investigate the molecular mechanisms of BC metastasis. The expression of miRNA in BC was evaluated by qRT-PCR and bioinformatics analysis. Clone formation, EdU assays, and subcutaneous xenograft model were used to test the growth of BC cells. Wound healing, transwell assays, and lung-metastasis model were used to explore the effect of miR-934 knockdown on cell metastasis. The miR-934 targets in BC were identified through bioinformatics analysis and luciferase reporter assays. The expression of protein was tested by western blot. The binding of mRNA and RNA-binding-protein was verified using RIP assays. miR-934 expression was significantly elevated in BC tissues, especially in those with lymph node metastasis and associated with poor patient prognosis. Experiments in vitro and in vivo showed that that upregulated miR-934 was not necessarily required for the growth of BC cells. However, miR-934 knockdown significantly inhibited the migration and invasion abilities of BC cells. Moreover, PTEN as identified as the direct target of miR-934 in BC, and miR-934 could promote BC cell metastasis by regulation of PTEN and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Our results suggested that targeting miR-934 may be a practical treatment for BC cell metastasis. The near point of convergence test is widely used to evaluate binocular vision. It assesses the ability of the eyes to converge at short distances. Although the test consists of a pure symmetrical vergence task, small involuntary saccades occur concurrently. The main goal of this study was to analyze saccadic characteristics as a function of vergence demand when testing the near point of convergence. To this purpose, the eye movements of 11 participants were registered with an eye-tracker while they performed the near point of convergence test by following a target that traveled forward and backward on a motorized bench. Saccade amplitude increased and, on average, saccade rate decreased with vergence demand. In general, the direction of the concurrent vergence movement had no significant effect on saccade characteristics. However, each individual subject showed idiosyncratic behavior. Most saccades tended to be corrective in terms of both binocular disparity and individual fixation position errors. In particular, most participants tended to correct the fixation position error of the dominant eye.Voltage sensor domain (VSD) in channel and non-channel membrane proteins shares a common function in the detection of changes in the transmembrane electric potential. The VSD is made of four helical transmembrane segments (S1-S4) that form a structurally conserved scaffold through inter-transmembrane residue-residue interactions. Details about these interactions are yet to be fully understood in the context of the unique structural and physical characteristics of the voltage sensor unit. selleck kinase inhibitor In this study, molecular dynamics simulations were carried out to investigate transmembrane helix-helix interactions via residue-based nonbonding energies using the activated and resting state conformations of VSD from Hv1, CiVSP, KvAP and NavAb. Inter-transmembrane interaction energies within the VSD were determined. Analysis of electrostatic and van der Waals components revealed the strengths and weaknesses of the interactions between each pair of transmembrane segments. In all cases the S4 helix had the highest electrostatic contribution to favor the key role as the voltage sensitive segment. Electrostatic interactions for the S1-S2 pair as well as the S1-S3 pair were relatively weak. link2 Van der Waal interaction energies between adjacent segments were on average greater than that between diagonally opposite segments. Salt bridge interactions between S4-arginines and the negatively charged residues in other segments appear to contribute more to stabilizing the energy than the van der Waals interactions between nonpolar residues. The overall behavior of residue-residue contacts is similar among the transmembrane domains, reflecting the common inter- transmembrane interaction pattern in the VSD. In addition, analysis of the residue positions suggested that subtle differences in the orientation of the salt-bridges can be attributed to the difference in the inter-transmembrane interaction strengths inside the VSDs.Excitation functions of alpha-particle induced reactions on natNd up to 50 MeV were measured at the RIKEN AVF cyclotron. To derive cross sections activation method, stacked target technique and gamma-ray spectrometry were adopted. Formations of 153,145Sm, 151,150,149,148m,148g,144,143Pm, and 149,147Nd were investigated. The results were compared with the previous experimental data and the TENDL-2019 data. Discrepancies among most of them were found. This study determines the optimum temperature for the alkali fusion process used to effectively separate iodine from solidified radwaste attaining low-level 129I by neutron activation. The alkali fusion temperature was adjusted to 120, 200, and 400 °C to approach the optimum conditions associated with a good statistical distribution of the measured 129I data and high chemical recovery yield. Statistical analysis revealed that the optimum temperature of the alkali fusion process was 200 °C, displaying good central tendency and low variance of the measured 129I data, and the respective chemical recovery yields were higher than other temperatures. The optimum fusion condition provides more reliable scaling factors (129I/137Cs) of radwaste.
Secondary CNS involvement by systemic lymphomas (SCNSL) is uncommon, but when it occurs, is usually due to diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Three recent unusual cases serve to highlight diagnostic challenges.
To report SCNSL from DLBCL and two unusual lymphoma types follicular lymphoma with high-grade transformation to DLBCL and NK/T cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKL), nasal type.
SCNSL in the DLBCL case occurred at 7-year interval from primary in a 54-year-old woman who presented with stroke-like symptoms and a right postcentral gyrus 2.6×2.9×2.6cm. mass. The follicular lymphoma occurred at 6-month interval in a 69-year-old woman with 1month of diplopia and 2weeks of cognitive decline; multifocal lesions involved temporal lobe, subependymal periventricular areas, brainstem, cerebellum, hypothalamus, corpus callosum and gyrus rectus. The ENKL occurred at 25-month interval from nasal biopsy in a 45-year-old man with 1week of altered mental status; multifocal cerebral and brainstem lesions were identified. Histological features in cases 1 and 3 were identical to the primary lymphoma, with high-grade transformation to DLBCL in the follicular lymphoma.
Unusual features in our series include longer interval from primary to relapse in case 1 with DLBCL (usually <2years of diagnosis), and SCNSL occurring from either follicular lymphoma or EKNL, nasal type (<6% of cases). Pathologists play an important role in excluding infectious, especially in cases with parenchymal lesions and characterizing the lymphoma type in SCNSL.

The diagnosis of combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-CCA) requires histomorphological detection of both hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA). However, these primary liver cancers (PLCs) have a wide variety of microscopic appearances resulting in difficulties and uncertainties in cHCC-CCA's diagnosis. This study aims to perform a clinicopathologic analysis on the diagnosis of PLCs at a tertiary referral hospital in Thailand using traditional morphologic studies.
A 5-year retrospective analysis of pathologically diagnosed PLCs was conducted. Pathological features and clinical characteristics of cHCC-CCA and other PLCs with the histopathologic resemblance to cHCC-CCA were studied. link3 The pathological diagnosis was rendered based on histomorphological context rather than immunoreactivity. A literature review containing diagnostic pitfalls of cHCC-CCA was carried out.
PLCs from a total of 295 patients were retrieved, and cHCC-CCA accounted for 1.4% (n=4) of the malignancies.
