Further, the composition of symptom clusters tends to change across various stages of cancer treatment. While this review identified some commonalities, the different methodologies used to identify symptom clusters resulted in inconsistencies in symptom cluster identification. It would be useful if future studies could separately examine the symptom clusters that occur in breast cancer patients undergoing a particular treatment type, and use standardised instruments across studies to assess symptoms. The review concludes that further studies could usefully determine the biological pathways associated with various symptom clusters, which would inform the development of effective and efficient symptom management strategies.
The aim of the present study was to compare the forgotten joint score (FJS) in patients with isolated patellofemoral osteoarthritis who underwent patellofemoral arthroplasty (PFA) versus those who underwent total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and to analyze the predictors of the FJS after PFA.

From January 2014 to December 2017, a retrospective cohort study of 56 consecutive patients with isolated patellofemoral osteoarthritis underwent PFA and were included in the PFA group. The patients in the PFA group were matched in a 11 ratio based on age, sex, body mass index (BMI), and follow-up duration; 56 patients with isolated patellofemoral osteoarthritis underwent cruciate-retaining TKA (TKA group). The FJS, range of motion of the knee, and Knee Society Score were assessed at 1 and 3 years postoperatively. In addition, the associations between the potential influencing factors (age, sex, BMI, and preoperative Iwano score of the patellofemoral joint) and the FJS were analyzed using multiple linear regression in thehe FJS after PFA, which might help in chosing the most appropriate operation.
The patients with isolated patellofemoral osteoarthritis who underwent PFA were more likely to forget the artificial joint and, consequently, may experience a higher degree of satisfaction. In addition, we identified two preoperative patient-related factors (age and BMI) that may predict the FJS after PFA, which might help in chosing the most appropriate operation. The prenatal developmental toxicity potential of alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride (ADBAC) and didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (DDAC) was evaluated in regulatory-compliant studies. Pregnant female CD rats (25/group) and New Zealand White rabbits (16/group) were administered ADBAC (0, 10, 30, or 100 mg/kg/day and 0, 1, 3, or 9 mg/kg/day, respectively), or DDAC (0, 1, 10, or 20 mg/kg/day and 0, 1, 3, or 10 mg/kg/day, respectively), by oral gavage on gestation days (GD) 6-15 for rats and GD 6-18 for rabbits. At scheduled termination (GD 21 for rats; GD 29 for rabbits), maternal necropsies were conducted and live fetuses were weighed and examined for external, visceral, and skeletal malformations and variations. Clinical signs of maternal toxicity were observed in rats and rabbits dosed with ADBAC, resulting in no-observed-adverse-effect levels (NOAELs) of 10 and 3 mg/kg/day, respectively. Despite the treatment-related maternal toxicity of ADBAC, the NOAEL for prenatal developmental toxicity was 100 and 9 mg/kg/day for rats and rabbits, respectively, the highest doses evaluated. Repeated oral doses of DDAC resulted in maternal toxicity in both species at the top two doses, with 25% mortality noted in rabbits at 10 mg/kg/day. No teratogenic effects were observed at any dose for either species. However, increased incidence of dead fetuses per litter and decreased fetal body weights were observed in rabbits at the maternally lethal dose of 10 mg/kg/day. The NOAEL for maternal toxicity of DDAC was 1 mg/kg/day for both species and the NOAEL for prenatal developmental toxicity was 20 and 3 mg/kg/day, for rats and rabbits, respectively.
By using machine learning (ML), our study aimed to build a model to predict risk and time to total knee replacement (TKR) of an osteoarthritic knee.

Features were from OAI at baseline. Lasso's Cox identified the ten most important among 1107 features. The prognostic power of the selected features was assessed by Kaplan-Meier and applied to seven ML methods Cox, DeepSurv, Random Forest, linear/kernel Support Vector Machine (SVM), and linear/neural Multi-Task Logistic Regression. As some of the ten features included similar X-ray measurements, we further looked at using the least features without compromising the accuracy of the model. Prediction performance was assessed by the concordance index (C-index), Brier score, and time-dependent area under the curve (AUC).

Identified features included X-rays, the MRI feature bone marrow lesions (BML) in medial condyle, hyaluronic acid injection, performance measure, medical history, and knee symptoms. The methodologies Cox, DeepSurv, and linear SVM demonstrated the highest accuracy (C-index, 0.85, Brier score 0.02, and AUC, 0.87). DeepSurv was chosen to build the prediction model to estimate the time to TKR for a given knee. Moreover, we were able to use only three features (C-index, 0.85, Brier score 0.02, and AUC, 0.86) including BML, KL grade and knee symptoms, to predict risk and time of a TKR event.

For the first time, using the OAI cohort, we developed a model to predict with high accuracy if and when a given osteoarthritic knee would require TKR and who would likely progress fast toward this event.

Flow cytometry sorting is an extremely powerful tool for monitoring, screening and separating single cells based on any property that can be measured by flow cytometry. Different applications of flow cytometry sorting are classified into groups and discussed in separate sections as follows (a) isolation of cell types, (b) high throughput screening, (c) cell surface display, (d) droplet fluorescent-activated cell sorting (FACS). Future opportunities are identified including (a) sorting of particular fractions of the cell population based on a property of interest for generating inoculum that will result in improved outcomes of cell cultures and (b) the use of population balance models in combination with FACS to design and optimize cell cultures.
To describe a surgical technique using suture tape for reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL). This technique restores the stability of the reconstructed ligament and has excellent postoperative outcomes.

This is a retrospective analysis. From January 2016 to June 2018, 17 patients underwent MPFL reconstruction using high-strength suture (FiberTape; Arthrex) augmentation, with at least 12 months of follow up. There were 11 female and 6 male patients. The mean age at the time of MPFL reconstruction was 22.1 years (range 13-34 years). Clinical outcomes included pain level, knee range of motion, passive patellar hypermobility, and maltracking at follow-up. The lateral patellofemoral angles, congruence angles, and patellar tilt angles were measured in a skyline view by CT at 30° of knee flexion at 12 months. Functional outcomes were assessed using the Lysholm knee scoring scale, the SF-12 score, the Tegner score, and the Crosby and Insall grading system at yearly follow-up.

No patients e (26.53 ± 7.23 vs 9.88 ± 4.24, P < 0.01), and congruence angle (29.59 ± 11.95 vs -8.65 ± 4.86, P < 0.01).

The use of FiberTape in MPFL reconstruction can improve the stability of the knee following surgery and has good midterm clinical results and low complication rates.

As biomaterials, their biocompatibility is as important as their magnetic properties. Iron nitride (Fex Ny ) has excellent magnetic properties, and thus Fex Ny nanoparticles could be useful as potential biomaterials. However, the biocompatibility of Fex Ny nanoparticles is yet to be investigated. In this study, we assessed the biocompatibility of Fex Ny nanoparticles by evaluating their direct-contact cytotoxicity compared with that of magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs). Rat fibroblasts were incubated with the nanoparticle samples dispersed in culture medium at concentrations of 10, 50, and 100 μg/ml. The DNA concentration measurement, MTT assay, and trypan blue exclusion test were conducted after days 1 and 3 of incubation. After day 1, the cell viability decreased, and cell death increased with increasing sample concentration when compared with the control. However, after day 3, there were no significant differences when compared with the control, irrespective of the sample concentrations. Further, there were no significant differences between the Fex Ny nanoparticles and MNPs at the same concentrations in all the cytotoxicity evaluation tests. Therefore, it is suggested that Fex Ny nanoparticles might be as cytocompatible as the conventional MNPs.
The new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has laid unprecedented stress on healthcare workers and especially nurses. The main objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of stress, anxiety, depression and sleep disturbance among nurses in Oman during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to explore the contributing factors.

A cross-sectional and descriptive correlational design using Qualtrics® software was performed. Data were collected using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and the Perceived Stress Scale.

Of the 1,130 nurses who participated, 75.6% (n = 854) reported stress, 44.2% (n = 499) reported anxiety, 38.5% (n = 435) reported depression and 73.7% (n = 833) reported poor sleep. Stress, anxiety, depression and sleep disturbance (p < .05) were significantly associated with age, marital status, comorbidity and whether family members or relatives were suspected or confirmed with COVID-19. The stress, anxiety, depression and sleep disturbance were significantly positively corelated with each other. PIK-III ic50 Logistic regression showed nurses in the age group between 18 and 30, who worked at the frontline, were at a higher risk of stress, anxiety, depression and sleep disturbance.

Stress, anxiety, depression and sleep disturbance are significant problems for nurses working in Oman during the COVID-19 pandemic. Appropriate interventions to monitor and reduce psychological problems and sleep disturbance among nurses are needed, which can help to support nurses' work during contagious disease outbreaks.
