Intentional replantation (IR) to treat disease of endodontic origin remains controversial. While IR has been advocated by some clinicians as another valid treatment option, others consider it as a treatment procedure of last resort.
To systematically review and critically evaluate the effectiveness of IR compared with nonsurgical root canal treatment/retreatment or apical surgery in terms of clinical and patient-related outcomes in managing permanent teeth with apical periodontitis (AP).
A literature search of five databases (PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science and Cochrane Central register of Controlled Trials), and the grey literature (Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, Open Access Theses and Dissertations, DART-Europe E-theses Portal, British Library E-Theses Online Service), from inception to November 2021, was conducted. Randomised clinical trials, comparative clinical trials (CCTs), nonrandomised, retrospective, and prospective comparative cohort and case-control two arm stuverall mid- to long-term survival, and low complication rates. The results suggest that IR may represent an alternative treatment procedure to solve problems of endodontic origin. However, in the absence of high-quality evidence from CCTs, clinical decision-making should be on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with the clinician's experience and the patient's preference.

However, the understanding of heredity, evolution, and functional genomics of P. distinctalis are limited by few genome-wide resources. Here, we applied PacBio sequencing and the chromosome capture technique to assemble the first P. distinctalis genome from a single female individual. The genome size is 1.2 Gb with 32 chromosomes and the N50 is 38.91 Mb. Approximately 576.37 Mb, accounting for 48.93% of the genome, was identified as repeats. The genome comprises 39,003 protein-coding genes, 66.56% of which were functionally annotated. Comparative genomics analysis suggested that the common ancestor of P. distinctalis and Chilo suppressalis lived ~83.5 million years ago. This chromosome-level genome assembly work is not only conducive to the understanding of P. distinctalis, but also may promote the study of the genomes of other lepidopteran species.Language experience, particularly from our native language (L1), shapes our perception of other languages around us. The present study examined how L1 experience moulds the initial processing of foreign (L2) tone during acquisition. In particular, we investigated whether learners were able to rapidly forge new neural memory traces for novel tonal words, which was tracked by recording learners' ERP responses during two word acquisition sessions. We manipulated the degree of L1-L2 familiarity by comparing learners with a nontonal L1 (German) and a tonal L1 (Swedish) and by using tones that were similar (fall) or dissimilar (high, low, rise) to those occurring in Swedish. Our results indicate that a rapid, pre-attentive memory trace build-up for tone manifests in an early ERP component at ~50 ms but only at particularly high levels of L1-L2 similarity. Specifically, early processing was facilitated for an L2 tone that had a familiar pitch shape (fall) and word-level function (inflection). This underlines the importance of these L1 properties for the early processing of L2 tone. In comparison, a later anterior negativity related to the processing of the tones' grammatical content was unaffected by native language experience but was instead influenced by lexicality, pitch prominence, entrenchment, and successful learning. Behaviorally, learning effects emerged for all learners and tone types, regardless of L1-L2 familiarity or pitch prominence. Together, the findings suggest that while L1-based facilitation effects occur, they mainly affect early processing stages and do not necessarily result in more successful L2 acquisition at behavioral level.
The association of cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) with all-cause and cause-specific mortality remains unclear in Chinese population. This study aimed to evaluate the risk of all-cause, cardiovascular disease (CVD), cancer and other-cause mortality in Chinese adults using estimated CRF (eCRF).
We analysed data for 15,566 participants aged ≥20years recruited in The Rural Chinese Cohort Study during 2007 to 2008 and followed for mortality during 2013 to 2014. eCRF was calculated with sex-specific longitudinal non-exercise algorithms. Cox proportional-hazards models were used to calculate hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for all-cause and cause-specific mortality risk according to baseline eCRF.
During a median of 6.01years of follow-up, 859 deaths occurred, including 359 from CVD, 221 from cancer, and 279 from other causes. Each 1metabolic equivalent increment in eCRF was associated with decreased risk of all-cause mortality (men HR 0.70, 95% CI [0.66-0.74]; women 0.59, [0.54-0.64]); CVD mortality (men 0.70 [0.64-0.77]; women 0.55, [0.48-0.62]); and other-cause mortality (men 0.68 [0.62-0.75]; women 0.57, [0.49-0.66]). The area under receiver operating characteristic curve was significantly higher for eCRF than its modifiable components (waist circumference, body mass index and resting heart rate) in predicting all-cause and cause-specific mortality incidence (all p<.001).

Considering the essential role of hydrophobic surfactant protein B (SP-B) in lung function, SP-B was targeted to examine its involvement in the development of obesity-induced airway inflammation in asthmatics.
The aim was to examine an alteration in circulating SP-B according to obesity in adult asthmatics, 129 asthmatics were enrolled and classified into 3groups (obese, overweight and normal-weight groups) according to body mass index (BMI). Circulating SP-B levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Four single nucleotide polymorphisms of SFTPB gene were genotyped. Serum ceramide levels were measured by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.
Significantly lower serum SP-B levels were noted in the obese group than in the overweight or normal-weight group (p=.002). What is the central question of this study? Use of the passive leg movement (PLM) test, a non-invasive assessment of microvascular function, is on the rise. However, PLM reliability in men has not been adequately investigated, nor has such reliability data, in men, been compared to the most commonly employed vascular function assessment, flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD). What is the main finding and its importance? PLM is a reliable method to assess vascular function in men, and is comparable to values previously reported for PLM in women, and for FMD. Given the importance of vascular function as a predictor of cardiovascular disease risk, these data support the utility of PLM as a clinically relevant measurement.

Although oral sulfate solution (OSS) has been revealed to be not only safe and efficacious but also noninferior to polyethylene glycol with ascorbic acid (PEG + ASC), it is unclear whether OSS can ultimately increase the polyp detection rate (PDR) and adenoma detection rate (ADR). We performed this meta-analysis to estimate the effect of OSS on PDR and ADR during colonoscopy.
We searched PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library to identify relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the comparative effect of OSS versus PEG + ASC on the PDR and ADR during colonoscopy. Cecal intubation time (CIT), cecal intubation rate (CIR), and bowel preparation score were also evaluated. Review Manager (RevMan) version 5.3.0 was used to perform statistical analysis.
