A pilot experience of teaching innovation was developed in the masotherapy practice classes of the University of Seville's degree of physiotherapy using an active learning approach.
Significant experiential learning-specific teaching strategies were implemented to address learning style diversity and promote dynamic participation, active listening, and the creation of clinical simulation learning environments.
The strategies implemented included establishing an affective climate in the classroom that would encourage interaction among participants, facilitating the flow of information and the teaching-learning process, considering students' previous ideas, elaborating upon content maps and key questions to guide the teaching-learning process, establishing discussions favoring student brainstorming, using illustrations and videos ("visual thinking"), implementing experimental demonstrations and simulated clinical scenarios, and collaborative activities mediated by information and communication technology.
The evaluation, which was developed using a questionnaire (pretest-posttest) that allowed the development of learning ladders and considered the complexity of the generated knowledge, revealed significant advances in student learning.
The implementation of significant experiential learning-specific teaching strategies is useful for achieving the learning objectives of this subject. Further research is needed to conclude firmly in this regard.

Further research is needed to conclude firmly in this regard.This study was designed to examine cochlear function in surgical postmenopausal women and natural menopause. Three groups, each including 20 patients, were formed surgical menopause (SM), natural menopause (NM), and healthy controls who had not yet gone through menopause. Conventional audiometry (0.125-8 kHz), ultra-high frequency audiometry (10-16 kHz), and otoacoustic emission (OAE) tests were used in the evaluation of the patients. Almost all the hearing thresholds were significantly poorer in the menopause groups than in the control group (p less then .05). However, the amplitudes of the healthy controls were higher in transient evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAEs), especially in many frequencies of distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) (p less then .05). In the SM group, all the frequencies between 0.125 and 10 kHz for the right ear, and 1, 2, 6 and 8 kHz air-conduction hearing thresholds for the left ear were significantly poorer compared to the NM group (p less then .05). There was also a significant decrease in the 4, 6, and 8 kHz DPOAE amplitudes of the SM group compared to the NM group (p less then .05). This study showed that postmenopausal women, in particular those with SM had significantly poorer hearing thresholds and lower OAE amplitudes. Menopause may be a potential risk factor for the development of hearing loss in women.Rifampin (RFP), a first-line anti-tuberculosis drug, often induces cholestatic liver injury and hyperbilirubinemia which limits its clinical use. Multidrug resistance-associated protein 2 (MRP2) localizes to the hepatocyte apical membrane and plays a pivotal role in the biliary excretion of bilirubin glucuronides. RFP is discovered to reduce MRP2 expression in liver cells. 4-Phenylbutyrate (4-PBA), a drug used to treat ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency (DILI), is reported to alleviate RFP-induced liver cell injury. However, the underlying mechanism still remains unclear. In the current study, we discovered that RFP induced HepG2 cell viability reduction, apoptosis and MRP2 ubiquitination degradation. Administration of 4-PBA alleviated the effect of RFP on HepG2 cell viability reduction, apoptosis and MRP2 ubiquitination degradation. In mechanism, 4-PBA suppressed RPF-caused intracellular Ca2+ disorder and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, as well as the increases of Clathrin and adapter protein 2 (AP2). ER stress marker protein C/EBP homologous protein took part in the modulation of AP2 and clathrin. Besides, 4-PBA reduced the serum bilirubin level in RFP-induced cholestasis mouse model, along with raised the MRP2 expression in liver tissues. These findings indicated that 4-PBA could alleviate RFP-induced cholestatic liver injury and thereby decreased serum total bilirubin concentration via inhibiting ER stress and ubiquitination degradation of MRP2, which provides new insights into the mechanism of 4-PBA in the treatment of RFP-induced cholestasis and liver damage.Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a common gastrointestinal disease with substantial morbidity and mortality. Pancreatic acinar intracellular trypsinogen activation (PAITA) is an important event in the early stage of AP. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs) and the microRNA regulatory network on pancreatic acinar intracellular trypsinogen activation (PAITA) and identify novel key targets in AP. Taurolithocholic acid 3-sulfate (TLC-S)-treated AR42J cells were used to establish a PAITA model. Twenty differentially expressed tRFs and 35 DE microRNAs were identified in PAITA through gene sequencing. Based on these genes, we established the tRF-mRNA and microRNA-mRNA regulatory networks by using bioinformatics methods. The networks revealed 29 hub microRNAs (e.g., Let-7 family, miR-21-3p.) and 19 hub tRFs (e.g., tRF3-Thr-AGT, i-tRF-Met-CAT) in PAITA. GO analysis showed that the functions of the two networks were similar and mainly enriched in RNA splicing, mRNA processing, and so on. tRF3-Thr-AGT, targeting Btg2, Cd44, Zbp1, etc., was significantly decreased in PAITA. Moreover, the trypsinogen activation level was increased significantly in the tRF3-Thr-AGT deficiency groups, but rescued by tRF3-Thr-AGT mimics. The results revealed that downregulated tRF3-Thr-AGT was involved in PAITA. This study provides potential novel targets for researching the underlying mechanisms of AP.One of the main benefits of the Nordic Hamstring Exercise (NHE) is that it can be performed without the need of any extra material. However, numerous technical execution variables such as the ankle and pelvis position can influence the performance. The primary aims of this study were to investigate the effects of ankle position (i.e., plantar or dorsal flexion) on Nordic Hamstring Break Point (NHBP), repetition time and heel contact force. A secondary aim was to investigate differences in biceps femoris long head and semitendinosus muscle activation. Male professional field hockey players (n = 12) volunteered for the study. learn more Paired t-tests were used to analyse the effect of ankle position on muscle NHBP, eccentric peak torque and repetition time. Ankle dorsal flexion resulted in a higher NHBP (p = 0.002, effect size [ES] = 1.48 [0.57 to 2.38]), repetition time (p = 0.004, ES = 0.98 [0.24 to 1.72]) and both absolute and relative heel contact force (p = 0.028, ES = 0.67 [0.01 to 1.34], p = 0.017, ES = 0.76 [0.07 to 1.44], respectively) compared to plantar flexion. This study showed a higher NHBP, absolute and relative heel contact force and repetition time with a dorsal flexed ankle vs. a plantar flexed ankle in the NHE, without changes in hamstrings muscle activation.Secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a life-threatening immune dysregulation disorder. Use of chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR-T) is associated with cytokine release syndrome (CRS), Immune Effector Cell Associated Neurotoxicity Syndrome (ICANS) and secondary HLH. However, application of HLH scoring systems (H-score, HLH-2004 criteria) are not validated in this setting. We analyzed the utility of applying the H-score and the HLH-2004 criteria to identify patients with possible HLH post-CAR-T for Relapsed/Refractory Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma. Only two of four patients with post CAR-T HLH met five or more of the diagnostic criteria for HLH by HLH 2004 criteria. In contrast all four post CAR-T HLH patients had a high H-score (>169); however, an additional ten patients that did not have HLH also had a high H-score. Thus, in this patient population, both scoring systems were demonstrated to have low prognostic significance in differentiating between high grade CRS and HLH.Previously, organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) were found to produce intersecting disruptions of energy homeostasis using an adult mouse model of diet-induced obesity. Using the same mixture consisting of 1 mg/kg/day of each triphenyl phosphate, tricresyl phosphate, and tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl)phosphate, the current study aimed to identify the role of estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) in OPFR-induced disruption, utilizing ERα knockout (ERαKO) mice fed either a low-fat diet (LFD) or high-fat diet (HFD). Body weight and composition, food intake patterns, glucose and insulin tolerance, circulating peptide hormones, and expression of hypothalamic genes associated with energy homeostasis were measured. When fed HFD, no marked direct effects of OPFR were observed in mice lacking ERα, suggesting a role for ERα in generating previously reported wildtype (WT) findings. Male ERαKO mice fed LFD experienced decreased feeding efficiency and altered insulin tolerance, whereas their female counterparts displayed less fat mass and circulating ghrelin when exposed to OPFRs. These effects were not noted in the previous WT study, indicating that loss of ERα may sensitize animals fed LFD to alternate pathways of endocrine disruption by OFPRs. In this paper we aim to identify the patterns, the financial and social burden of domestic violence, and ongoing rehabilitative programmes within low- and middle-income countries. A literature search was conducted using "PubMed, Google scholar, and Scopus" databases for the key terms "domestic violence," "partner abuse," "rehabilitation programmes," and/or "partner-perpetrated physical abuse." All relevant articles were included in this narrative review. According to a "Survey of Violence against Women in Turkey," there is high exposure to domestic violence at all ages. Globally, violence against women, chilicymakers should urgently implement sustainable and well-structured preventive and rehabilitation programmes for the sake of both the victims and the abusers/individuals engaging in violence. Corrective programmes pertaining to the domestic violence have the potential to reveal the extent of the problem, shed light on issues underlying the violence and increase awareness of the damage caused to society.
