The fast measurement of fibrinogen is essential in evaluating life-threatening sepsis and cardiovascular diseases. Here, we aim to utilize biomimetic plasmonic Au nanoparticles using red blood cell membranes (RBCM-AuNPs) and demonstrate nanoscale coagulation-inspired fibrinogen detection via cross-linking between RBCM-AuNPs. The proposed biomimetic RBCM-AuNPs are highly suitable for fibrinogen detection because hemagglutination, occurring in the presence of fibrinogen, induces a shift in the localized surface plasmon resonance of the NPs. Specifically, when the two ends of the fibrinogen protein are bound to receptors on separate RBCM-AuNPs, cross-linking of the RBCM-AuNPs occurs, yielding a corresponding plasmon shift within 10 min. This coagulation-inspired fibrinogen detection method, with a low sample volume, high selectivity, and high speed, could facilitate the diagnosis of sepsis and cardiovascular diseases.Metastable single crystals of nonstoichiometric Pb1-xTe are obtained by rapid cooling from the melt. The composition and crystallographic morphology are studied using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and electron backscatter diffraction. Most single crystals have cubic, pyramidal, or hemispherical shapes with sizes ranging from 50 to 400 μm. All crystals adopt the same face-centered cubic rock salt structure, and the crystal growth direction is ⟨100⟩. The bulk part of the rapidly cooled material solidifies in the form of a Te-rich polycrystalline material in which grains are separated by the PbTe-Te eutectic phase. The stabilization of nonstoichiometric Pb1-xTe provides further scope for the optimization of lead telluride-based thermoelectric materials.Convenient and ultrasensitive detection of pesticides is demanded for healthcare and environmental monitoring, which can be realized with a dual-modal strategy. In this paper, based on a biotin-labeled IgG-modified gold nanoparticle (AuNP@IgG-bio) probe, a dual-modal immunosensor was proposed for detecting chloroacetamide herbicides. This platform is relied on the dephosphorylation of ascorbic acid 2-phosphate (AA2P) by alkaline phosphatase (ALP). In addition to this process, ascorbic acid (AA)-triggered deposition of silver on gold nanostars (AuNSs) and the fluorogenic reaction of dehydrogenated AA and o-phenylenediamine (OPD) occur sequentially. Thus, the dual readout of the color change of red-green-blue (RGB) and fluorescence generation in situ induced by crystal growth can be used. The limits of detection (LODs) were as low as 1.20 ng/mL of acetochlor (ATC), 0.89 ng/mL of metolachlor, 1.22 ng/mL of propisochlor, and 0.99 ng/mL of their mixture by a smartphone and 0.44 ng/mL of ATC, 1.59 ng/mL of metolachlor, 2.80 ng/mL of propisochlor, and 0.72 ng/mL of their mixture by a spectrofluorometer. The recoveries from corn were 91.4-105.1% of the colorimetric mode and 92.4-106.2% of the fluorescent mode. Due to its simple observation mode and good performance, this dual-modal immunosensor possesses considerable application prospects. We demonstrate the formation of a versatile luminescent organo-inorganic layered hybrid material, composed of bovine serum albumin (BSA)-protected Au30 clusters and aminoclay sheets. X-ray diffraction revealed the intercalation of Au30@BSA in the layered superstructure of aminoclay sheets. Coulombic attraction of the clusters and the clay initiates the interaction, and the appropriate size of the clusters allowed them to intercalate within the lamellar aminoclay galleries. Electron microscopy measurements confirmed the hierarchical structure of the material and also showed the cluster-attached clay sheets. Zeta potential measurement and dynamic light scattering probed the gradual formation of the ordered aggregates in solution. The hybrid material could be stretched up to 300% without fracture. The emergence of a new peak in the luminescence spectrum was observed during the course of mechanical stretching. This peak increased in intensity gradually with the degree of elongation or strain of the material. A mechanochromic luminescence response was further demonstrated with a writing experiment on a luminescent mat of the material, made by electrospinning.Based on their extensive experience and literature data, the author outlines difficulties in the morphological diagnosis of sepsis, by taking into account the current clinical classification. Occurring not only in sepsis and lacking clear morphological criteria, a systemic inflammatory response and organ dysfunction cannot be absolute signs of sepsis diagnosis. The author gives the morphological characteristics of the systemic inflammatory response, septic shock, and organ dysfunction. The paper provides a literature review of the differential diagnosis of pathogenetic types of cerebral infarction. It presents a number of features of ischemic strokes characteristic of both cerebrovascular diseases and other nosological entities (tumors, diseases of blood, heart, liver, kidneys, and various other organs). The analysis revealed the leading morphological components characteristic of the main pathogenetic types of cerebral infarctions in the group of cerebrovascular diseases (atherothrombotic, cardioembolic, lacunar, hemodynamic, and hemorheological ones), and of other nosological entities with acute ischemic stroke.Seromucinous tumors belong to a group of ovarian epithelial tumors. They were originally described as tumors characterized by Müllerian endocervical differentiation. Molecular genetic studies have indicated these tumors as endometriosis-associated tumors due to the presence of ARID1 gene mutations. However, the histogenesis of these neoplasms is still unstudied.
Histopathological Evaluation of surgical margins of a resected tumour specimen can give an insight about the extent of tumour spread. Errors in proper identification and orientation of resected tumour margins can lead to treatment failure and poor prognosis. Inking of resected margins is the most reliable and safe method. The aim of this study is to systematically review the studies which compares various materials used for inking of surgically resected specimen.

Articles searched from PubMed, Cochrane, Google search, manual search using key words - inking, tissue marking dyes, surgical margin, tumour margin, surgical pathology, grossing, gross specimens and back references of the articles, yielded three articles. Three articles with a total sample size of 1325 and compares properties of India ink, Acrylic colours and Tissue Marking Dyes were considered in this review.

Both India ink and acrylic colours are good with respect to the Ease of application, visibility on paraffin wax blocks, Visibility on naked eye examination of slides and Visibility on microscope. Acrylic colours have less drying time than India ink. India ink do not result in contamination of tissue processing fluids, Interference with cellular and nuclear details and penetration in to tissues when compared with acrylic colours.

India Ink will continue to dominate as the best surgical ink when comparing all the parameters till newer studies are available for acrylic colours or other dyes. Acrylic colours have the potential to be widely used as a tissue marking dyes except for the few disadvantages.

The diagnosis of CHM was made retrospectively based on immunohistochemical analysis of archival material using p57 and Ki67 antibodies. Observation shows the difficulty of objective diagnosis of hydatidiform mole in early pregnancy due to the lack of typical cystic transformation of the stroma of villi, focal proliferation of villous trophoblast. Application of the p57 marker for the differential diagnosis of CHM and other variants of cystic villi transformation may be especially important in cases of ectopic pregnancy, in which morphological changes in the chorion do not always correspond to the classical picture. The presence of ectopic pregnancy with CHM in a 56-year-old patient requires special attention of clinicians.Autopsy material and medical history were studied and analyzed in a 20-year-old male patient who had died from COVID-19 infection with the development of acute SARS-CoV-2-associated hemorrhagic necrotizing encephalopathy in adults with obvious endothelial dysfunction confirmed by virological examination of the autopsy material. In this case, the brain structures displayed the main found histopathologic signs widespread vasculitis (endotheliitis) with varying degrees of segmental and total endothelial destruction; thrombosis mainly of the vessels of the microcirculatory bed; parenchymal hemorrhagic necrosis and inflammation (encephalitis); severe necrobiotic damage to neurons. Cerebrovascular immune damages and hypercoagulable states, which were observed in some acute viral neuroinfections, are the basis for the neurological complications of COVID-19. In this case of bicausal diagnosis (the presence of a comorbidity), the primary disease contributed to the acute progression of the background disease (secondary infiltrative tuberculosis with the development of specific pleuritis and pneumothorax with the addition of acute bilateral focal confluent bronchopneumonia with a history of undifferentiated immunodeficiency syndrome. Emphasis is laid on the possibility and importance of involving the brain structures in the process in COVID-19 for the timely diagnosis of emerging neurological disorders. A brief literature review is given. The paper describes an autopsy observation of a 71-year-old male with primary generalized AL amyloidosis lasting about 4 months after its manifestation to the onset of death from hepatic and renal failure. H3B-6527 mw Total damage to the liver and spleen, as well as amyloid deposits in the kidneys, adrenal glands, and pancreas were noted.Various uteroplacental blood flow disorders, their diagnosis, and correction, especially if the maternal obstetric history is burdened by endocrinopathy, still remain an urgent obstetric problem.
To study blood flow in the vessel-red blood cell segment and to search for changes in both the vessels of the villous tree of the placenta and uterus and the properties of blood corpuscles, by using modern microscopy methods (scanning probe microscopy, atomic force microscopy).

For macroscopic and microscopic examinations, fragments of the placenta, umbilical cord, and uterus were taken; venous blood samples were collected from patients without endocrinopathy, with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) or type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) prior to delivery. The data were statistically processed using both parametric (Student's t-test) and nonparametric (Fisher's exact test) methods.

The authors found that microangiopathy and other metabolic changes in diabetes mellitus could lead to villous stromal sclerosis, the appearance of intermediate villi, changes in blood vessel shape, relief tortuosity, depth, and area, endothelial cell destruction, stasis, and thrombosis.
