to secondary progressive MS, and DMT effectiveness uncertainty. Patient centred decision aids should include information about first and consecutive treatment decisions.Dermatographism is a disorder of unknown etiology that results in inducible hives from environmental stimuli. Here we report the first known case of dermatographism associated with ocrelizumab in a patient with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. The patient presented with pruritic linear raised rash approximately two weeks after her first infusion with ocrelizumab and was later diagnosed with dermatographism. This case highlights a potential rare adverse reaction to ocrelizumab and may provide insight into the biological underpinnings of dermatographism.
Assess soluble FMS-like tyrosine kinase-1/placental growth factor ratio (sFlt-1/PlGF) diagnostic accuracy for predicting adverse maternal outcome in patients with early severe preeclampsia, and whether its predictive performance is superior to full preeclampsia integrated estimate of risk score (PIERS).
Prospective study enrolled patients with early severe preeclampsia (defined by American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists 2013 guidelines) admitted to the Clinic for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Clinical Center of Serbia intensive care unit. Patients underwent delivery to terminate preeclampsia within 48h of admission. PIERS was generated and blood samples taken at admission. Multiple pregnancies and gestational ages outside 24-34weeks were excluded. sFlt-1 and PlGF serum concentrations were measured using Elecsys® assays and cobas e 601 analyser. Maternal complications were recorded for seven days post-delivery.
Diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity and specificity), and predictive performance (receiver operating characteristic area under curve [AUC]) vs. PIERS, of sFlt-1/PlGF for predicting adverse maternal outcome.
Of 89 patients enrolled, 61 were evaluable. Median frequency of adverse maternal outcomes within seven days of delivery was two. Median sFlt-1/PlGF and PIERS were 521·0 and 5·0%, respectively. sFlt-1/PlGF showed greater correlation with complication number than PIERS (Spearman's rho 0·728 [p<0·001] and 0·134 [p=0·304], respectively). AUC for sFlt-1/PlGF and PIERS were 0·853 and 0·628, respectively. A 377·0 sFlt-1/PlGF cut-off was optimal for predicting complications (75·0% sensitivity; 92·3% specificity).
sFlt-1/PlGF correlated more closely with number of adverse maternal outcomes than PIERS, and was a superior predictor of maternal complications.

Determine the eclampsia prevalence and factors associated with eclampsia and recurrent seizures in Suriname and evaluate quality-of-care indicator 'magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) coverage'.
A two-year prospective nationwide cohort study was conducted in Suriname and included women with eclampsia at home or in a healthcare facility.
We calculated the prevalence by the number of live births obtained from vital registration. Risk factor denominator data concerned hospital births. Descriptive statistics and multivariate regression analysis were performed.
Seventy-two women with eclampsia (37/10.000 live births) were identified, including two maternal deaths (case-fatality 2.8%). Nulliparity, African-descent and adolescence were associated with eclampsia. Adolescents with eclampsia had significantly lower BPs (150/100mmHg) than adult women (168/105mmHg). The first seizure occurred antepartum in 54% (n=39/72), intrapartum in 19% (n=14/72) and postpartum in 26% (n=19/72). EI1 were observed in 60% (uce the prevalence of eclampsia.Hypoxia is a major impediment to many foremost cancer treatments that require O2 for generation of tumoricidal reactive oxygen species. #link# Liquid perfluorocarbons (PFCs) are inert gas solvents that help alleviate this oxygen deficit situation. link2 PFC nanoemulsions have demonstrated oxygen delivery to tissues. The lifetime of 1O2 in PFCs is considerably expanded. PFC nanodroplets extravasate and accumulate in tumors. Alternatively, PFCs stabilize injectable O2 microbubbles. On-demand local O2 delivery is facilitated by ultrasound. Liquid PFC nanodroplets that convert into microbubbles upon activation provide another shuttle for O2-delivery. PFC nanocarriers can also be enriched with fluorescent dyes, radiopaque materials, photo(sono)sensitizers, loaded with chemotherapeutics, and fitted with targeting devices, or stimuli-responsive functions for image-guided theranostics. We review recent literature on PFC-based O2 carriers to enhance the efficacy of radiotherapy, photo(sono)dynamic therapy and chemotherapy. Of particular relevance to this series of reviews, PFC-based carriers may provide novel strategies to promote T-cell trafficking into tumors to improve immune responses.
Prion diseases are fatal neurodegenerative disorders caused by the deposition of abnormal prion protein aggregates (PrP
) in the central nervous system. link3 This study aimed to evaluate the use of iodinated pyridyl benzofuran (IPBF) derivatives as single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) probes for the detection of cerebral PrP
deposits.
In vitro binding assays of IPBF derivatives were carried out in the recombinant mouse prion protein (rMoPrP) and brain sections of mouse-adapted bovine spongiform encephalopathy (mBSE)-infected mice. SPECT imaging of 5-(5-[
I]iodobenzofuran-2-yl)-N-methylpyridin-2-amine ([
I]IPBF-NHMe) was performed on mBSE-infected and mock-infected mice.
Fluorescence microscopy results showed that fluorescence signals of IPBF derivatives corresponded to the thioflavin-T positive amyloid deposits of PrP
in the brain sections of mouse-adapted bovine spongiform encephalopathy (mBSE)-infected mice. Among the IPBF derivatives, 5-(5-iodobenzofuran-2-yl)-N-methylpyridin-2-amine (IPBF-NHMe) exhibited the highest binding affinity to the recombinant mouse prion protein (rMoPrP) aggregates with a K
of 14.3nM. SPECT/computed tomography (CT) imaging and ex vivo autoradiography demonstrated that the [
I]IPBF-NHMe distribution in brain tissues of mBSE-infected mice co-localized with PrP
deposits.
[
I]IPBF-NHMe appears to be a prospective SPECT tracer for monitoring prion deposits in living brain tissues.

Advances in immunology and cell-based therapies are creating a need to track individual cell types, such as immune cells (neutrophils, eosinophils, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells, etc.) and stem cells. As the fate of administered cells remains largely unknown, nuclear imaging could determine the migration and survival of cells in patients. [
Zr]Zr(oxinate)
, or [
Zr]Zr-oxine, is a radiotracer for positron emission tomography (PET) that has been evaluated in preclinical models of cell tracking and could improve on [
In]In-oxine, the current gold standard radiotracer for cell tracking by scintigraphy and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), because of the better sensitivity, spatial resolution and quantification of PET. However, a clinically usable formulation of [
Zr]Zr-oxine is lacking. This study demonstrates a 1-step procedure for preparing [
Zr]Zr-oxine and evaluates it against [
In]In-oxine in white blood cell (WBC) labelling.
Commercial [
Zr]Zr-oxalate was added to a fCARE Our results demonstrate that [89Zr]Zr-oxine is a suitable PET alternative to [111In]In-oxine for WBC imaging. Our formulation allows rapid, stable, high-yield, single-step preparation of [89Zr]Zr-oxine from commercially available 89Zr. This will facilitate the clinical translation of cell tracking using [89Zr]Zr-oxine.Asthma in children is the most prevalent allergic disease worldwide that has become a major public health priority. The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between baseline serum vitamin D status, spirometry, and fractional exhaled nitric oxide levels (FeNO) in 64 Greek children with 'mild asthma' aged 5 to 12 years (51.6% male) in a dietary intervention study. We hypothesized that baseline serum vitamin D levels modify the beneficial response of fatty fish intake on pulmonary function in asthmatic children following a Mediterranean diet. The intervention group consumed 2 fatty fish meals/week (≥150 g cooked filleted fish/meal) as part of the Mediterranean diet for six months, and the control group consumed their usual diet. Baseline serum 25(OH)D was determined using enzyme-linked immunoassay and defined as sufficient levels of 25(OH)D ≥25 ng/mL. Only 36% of children were graded as sufficient in 25(OH)D levels on entry into the study with a higher proportion of girls insufficient than boys (61% vs 39% respectively). Participants with sufficient levels of serum 25(OH)D at baseline, consuming the intervention diet increased FEV1/FVC by 4.89 units (β = 4.89; 95%CI 1.19-8.61; p = 0.013) and FEF25-75% by 12.83 units (β = 12.83; 95%CI 4.27-21.40; p = 0.006) compared to controls. No significant differences in pulmonary function or FeNO were observed for those with insufficient levels of 25(OH) D in the intervention or control groups. In conclusion, sufficient serum vitamin D levels enhanced ventilatory function in response to a dietary intervention in asthmatic children. In aquatic ecosystems, the temperature of the water is an important ecological factor that modulates aquatic organisms' metabolism, growth, development, and reproduction. In this study, the morphological, transcriptomic, and metabolomic analyses of response of Marsupeneus japonicus to acute cold stress was investigated. The results revealed that low temperature caused profound morphological damage to the hepatopancreas. Transcriptomic responses suggested that energy and primary metabolism, cytoskeleton structure, and apoptosis signaling were altered. The metabolic responses to cold stress included changes of multiple amino acids and unsaturated fatty acids. Combined transcriptomic and metabolomic data indicated that energy metabolism pathways were downregulated in the hepatopancreas under cold stress. However, M. japonicus increased ATP and unsaturated fatty acids production to ameliorate. Moreover, cold stress caused significant attenuation of macrophage apoptosis. This study provides key information to increase our understanding of low-temperature tolerance in shrimp. The aim of the study was to investigate the protective effects of selenium yeast (SeY) against necroptosis triggered by Cd via inhibition of oxidative stress and MAPK pathway in the liver of chicken. Two hundred 120-day-old layers were randomly divided into four groups and raised for 120 days. The histopathological examination showed that necrosis characteristics were observed in Cd-exposed chicken livers. The exposure of Cd significantly reduced the activities of SOD, GSH-Px and CAT while improving MDA level in both serum and liver of chickens (P less then 0.05), and induced oxidative stress. The MLKL, Rip1, RIP3, ERK, JNK and P38 mRNA expression of Cd group were significantly higher than other three groups (P < 0.01), and those in the Se + Cd group were significantly higher than control group and Se group (P < 0.01). However, the mRNA expression level of caspase8 of Cd was significantly lower than other three groups (P < 0.01), and that in the Se + Cd group was significantly higher than control group and Se group (P < 0.
