Ice hockey has significant workload demands. Research of other sports has suggested that decreased rest between games as well as an increased workload may increase the risk of injuries.

To evaluate whether condensed game schedules increase the frequency and severity of injuries in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Descriptive epidemiology study.

Data were obtained from publicly available online sources on game schedules and injuries for all NHL teams for the 2005-2006 through 2018-2019 seasons. Injury rates (per team per game) and the proportion of severe and nonsevere injuries were determined. The game-spacing analysis assessed the risk of injuries in relation to the number of days between games played (range, 0-≥6 days). The game-density analysis assessed the risk of injuries in relation to the number of games played within 7 days (range, 1-5 games). Results were assessed by analysis of variance, the post hoc Tukey test, and the chi-square test of distribution.

The game-spacing analysis included 3ficant differences between all groups except for the comparison between 1 versus 2 games in 7 days.

We found that a condensed schedule and <1 day of rest between games were associated with an increased rate of injuries in the NHL. These findings may help in the design of future game schedules.

The effect of leg dominance on short-term functional outcomes and return to sports after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) has been evaluated. However, postoperative medium- to long-term recovery and revision rates are not well known.

To investigate whether leg dominance affects medium- to long-term clinical and functional scores and revision rates after ACLR.

Included in this study were 235 patients (205 male and 30 female) who underwent isolated arthroscopic ACLR. Patients were divided according to the leg dominance status of their injured limb into 2 groups dominant leg injured (120 patients) and nondominant leg injured (115 patients). Preoperative and postoperative functional outcomes and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) were evaluated using the visual analog scale for pain, Tegner activity scale, Lysholm knee score, International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) subjective knee evaluation form, 36-Item Short Form Health Survnance had a significant effect on postoperative medium- to long-term functional outcomes, HRQoL, and revision rates.

Medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFLR) is widely used to treat patellofemoral instability. However, it is still unclear when a concomitant bony procedure is needed.

To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of isolated MPFLR for recurrent patellar lateral dislocation and to identify the prognostic factors for clinical outcomes.

A total of 237 patients who had undergone unilateral isolated MPFLR between January 2011 and December 2016 were included. Patellar tracking (J sign) and radiologic information including patellar height, trochlear dysplasia, tibial tubercle-trochlear groove distance, and patellar tilt was collected preoperatively, and the Kujala and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) functional scores were used to assess postoperative recovery. Failure was defined as redislocation or patient-reported and clinically confirmed patellar instability. To publish the Spanish translation of Version 12 of the sports injury classification system called Orchard Sports Injury Classification System and propose a modification to include a numerical code that reflects the impact of the injury on sports functionality.

We propose as an improvement the inclusion of functionality criteria in sports injury classifications; more specifically, our proposal could be an improvement to the Orchard Sports Injury Classification System Version 12.We present operative, postoperative, oncologic and functional outcomes of genital tract sparing robot-assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy, bilateral extended pelvic lymph node (LN) dissection and intracorporeal Studer pouch construction on five female patients with bladder cancer. One of the cases had concomitant nephroureterectomy performed due to a non-functioning kidney. Median patient age, mean operation time, median estimated blood loss and mean duration of hospital stay were 59 (39-78), 462 ± 25, 400 (50-970), 8.8 ± 2.5, respectively. Pathologic stages were pTis (n=1), pT1 (n=1), pT3 (n=1), pT4a (n=1) and pT4b (n=1). Mean LN yield was 32.4 ± 8.9. Positive surgical margins were detected in 2 patients with pT4 diseases. Only minor complications developed that were resolved with medical treatment. Two patients had no, 1 patient had mild, and 2 patients had moderate daytime incontinence. One patient had good, 3 patients had fair, and 1 had poor night-time incontinence. This complex robotic surgery can be performed safely with acceptable short-term surgical, oncological and functional outcomes.
Myiasis is a disease caused by infections of tissues and organs of human and vertebrates body by the larvae of real flies of Diptera which feeding on living or dead tissues of host for a period of time. This report aims to present a case of urogenital myiasis caused by the larvae of
(Diptera Psychodidae) for the first time in Iran.

In this case report, we present a case of a 9-year-old girl with urogenital myiasis caused by
. She presented to Sina Hospital with dysuria and claimed that he had observed several black-grayish colored mobile particles in his urine at different times. The patient lived in Miandoab, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran.

In the hospital her urine sample, containing 3 larvae was referred to Entomology lab of the Medical Faculty for identification and characterization. Dulaglutide According to morphological factors, the larvae were identified to approximate size of 8-10mm long, white to gray color, thorns and pale scales and a siphon at the posterior end of the body. By comparing the larvae with the reported ones from Turkey, diagnosis was confirmed.

Flesh flies (Diptera Sarcophagidae) are considered as myiasis agents and important evidences in forensic investigations. However, their use has been restricted because, at all larval stages and female adults, morphological species identification is difficult or very challenging. This study investigated to test utility of mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (mt-COI) sequences for differentiation of six forensically important Iranian flesh flies namely,

Male specimens were morphologically identified to species level and then the genomic DNA of the flies were extracted and subjected to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) against mt-COI gene. link2 The PCR products were sequenced and the obtained sequences were analyzed for the species specific restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLPs).

Rate of genetic variation between species was 6-10% which was enough to find restriction enzymes (RE) that were able to produce species-specific RFLP profiles. Combinations of three REs BsrFI, RsaI and HinfI, provided diagnostic bands for identification of the six
species.

The aims of this study were to evaluate the efficiency of two capture methods for providing live sandflies used for determining the susceptibility level of
, the main vector of zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis in Lorestan Province, west of Iran.

The sand flies were collected from indoor and outdoor by hand-catch and baited traps during the peak of seasonal activity. The susceptibility level of sand flies was assessed using insecticide-impregnated papers against DDT 4%, bendiocarb 0.1%, permethrin 0.75%, deltamethrin 0.05%, and cyfluthrin 0.15%.

A total of 2486 live sandflies were caught from both indoor and outdoor places. Totally 849 sand flies were caught from outdoors with a sex ratio(SR) 0.1 versus 1637 sand flies collected from indoor using the hand-catch method with SR= 0.6. The dominant species of sand flies was
in the study area. Mortality rates of outdoor-collected sand flies were exposed to DDT 4%, deltamethrin 0.05%, permethrin 0.75%, and bendiocarb 0.1%, and mortality rate ranged from 92.
