LH) in frail patients, compared to 58% longer in the subgroup of non-frail patients.
Frailty is independently associated with inferior post-operative outcomes in patients undergoing hepatectomy. However, the benefits of laparoscopic (compared to open) hepatectomy are similar for frail and non-frail patients. Frailty should not be a contraindication to laparoscopic minor hepatectomy in carefully selected patients.

For the study population (209 men and 262 women; mean age, 32.12 ± 18.71 years), 471 digital panoramic radiographs of Korean individuals were applied. The participants were divided into three groups (with a 20-year age gap) and six groups (with a 10-year age gap), and each age group was estimated using the following five machine learning models a linear discriminant analysis, logistic regression, kernelized support vector machines, multilayer perceptron, and extreme gradient boosting. Finally, a Fisher discriminant analysis was used to visualize the data configuration. In the prediction of the three age-group classification, the areas under the curve (AUCs) obtained for classifying young ages (10-19 years) ranged from 0.85 tels.
This systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluated coblation versus laser (carbon dioxide and diode) tonsillectomy, with regard to various surgical and clinical outcomes.
We searched PubMed, CENTRAL, Scopus, and Web of Science for relevant from inception until March 2021. Pancuronium dibromide research buy We evaluated risk of bias using the Cochrane Collaboration Tool. We summarized the outcomes as risk ratio (RR) or mean difference/standardized mean difference (MD/SMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI). We conducted subgroup analysis based on the day of postoperative pain (day 1, day 7, and day 14) and type of postoperative hemorrhage (reactionary and secondary). In addition, we conducted subgroup analysis according to the type of laser.
Five RCTs were analyzed. Three and two RCTs were evaluated as having "some concerns" and "low risk of bias", respectively. Coblation tonsillectomy correlated with lower intraoperative blood loss (MD = -5.08ml, 95% CI [- 7.33 to - 2.84], P < 0.0001) and lower operative time (MD = - 4.50min, 95% CI [- 6.10 to - 2.90], P < 0.0001) compared with the laser tonsillectomy. However, there was no significant difference between both groups regarding the postoperative pain score (SMD = - 0.27, 95% CI [- 0.72 to 0.17], P = 0.27) and rate of postoperative hemorrhage (RR = 0.95, 95% CI [0.27-3.40], P = 0.23). Subgroup analysis reported similar insignificant difference between both groups according to the day of postoperative pain and type of postoperative hemorrhage.
Coblation tonsillectomy correlated with a significant reduction in intraoperative blood loss and operative time compared with the laser technique. Nevertheless, these effects do not seem clinically meaningful in surgical practice.

Lilac (Syringa oblata), a well-known woody ornamental plant with obvious petal color changes, is an ideal model. Here, we presented chromosome-scale genome assembly for lilac, resolved the flavonoids metabolism, and identified key genes and potential regulatory networks related to petal color change. The genome assembly is 1.05 Gb anchored onto 23 chromosomes, with a BUSCO score of 96.6%. Whole-genome duplication (WGD) event shared within Oleaceae was revealed. Metabolome quantification identified delphinidin-3-O-rutinoside (Dp3Ru) and cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside (Cy3Ru) as the major pigments; gene co-expression networks indicated WRKY an essential regulation factor at the early flowering stage, ERF more important in the color transition period (from violet to light nearly white), while the MBW complex participated in the entire process. Our results provide a foundation for functional study and molecular breeding in lilac.Nailfold capillaroscopy (NFC) is a safe and non-invasive imaging tool for evaluating microvascular abnormalities. This retrospective cross-sectional study aimed to analyze the NFC outcomes and clinical characteristics in patients and an asymptomatic carrier with transthyretin (TTR) gene mutation. The participants consist of eight patients with genetically and clinically confirmed hereditary amyloidogenic transthyretin (ATTRv) amyloidosis and one asymptomatic carrier. The TTR gene mutant forms of six male and three female participants from six families were Asp38Ala (five patients), Lys35Asn (three patients), and Ala36Pro (one patient). All participants showed decreased capillary density, dilatated capillaries, and destructed architecture in NFC. Early progression identification of a carrier to patients with symptoms is a major concern from a therapeutic viewpoint in ATTRv amyloidosis. Therefore, further studies with a larger number of subjects will be needed to determine the use of NFC as an early detection tool. The self-administration (SA) model represents one of the most important and classic methods for drug addiction, and jugular vein catheterization is one of the most critical techniques in this animal model. We aimed to explore an optimized scheme to improve the success rate of rat jugular vein catheterization and SA model. Our experiment provided an optimized scheme which including numerous details, materials, approaches, updated techniques and protocols. Our experimental group consisted of 120 adult male Sprague-Dawley rats, which were divided into the Traditional Operation group (TO group) and the Optimized Operation group (OO group) by the random number table method and then further individually divided into the Saline Training group and the Cocaine Training group for the following SA training. Our results showed that the success rate of the jugular vein catheterization in the OO group was significantly greater than that in the TO group (93.33% vs 46.67%, χ2 = 31.11, P less then 0.001). The optimized jugular vein catheterization could make the SA model more stable, reliable and efficient than the traditional operation. Compared with traditional methods, our optimized scheme made numerous improvements in materials and techniques including uniformity, individualized variability of the S-type positioning nail, the length and connection matching, the shape of the end and low cost. Our optimized scheme could provide a more stable and efficient tool for basic research on drug addiction. Several subtle improvements under our personal experience are usually important for augmenting operational efficiency.Dactylorhiza hatagirea (D. Don) Soo is medicinally important herb, which is widely used in ayurveda, unani, and folk/traditional medicine system to cure diseases. Due to its immense ethno-botanical properties, the trade of D. hatagirea is estimated to be USD 1 billion/year in India. Unfortunately, due to overexploitation of the herb from the wild, has resulted in dwindling of its populations in their natural habitats, which has led to its critically endangered status. Molecular genetic studies are still scarce in D. hatagirea, therefore, in current study, genetic diversity and population structure analysis was carried out of 10 populations (48 individuals) collected from three cold desert regions (2527 m-3533 m amsl) of Himachal Pradesh. Mean observed heterozygosity (Ho) and expected heterozygosity (He) was recorded 0.185 and 0.158. The maximum values for Fst (fixation index) and Nm (gene flow) were recorded 0.945 at locus KSSR14 and 1.547 at locus KSSR 4 respectively. Mean genetic differentiation (Fst) coefficient was estimated to 0.542. Overall, low levels of genetic diversity was recorded in the populations of D. hatagirea, might be due to habitat specificity (alpine meadows ecosystem; humid laden undulating habitat), restricted distribution and high anthropogenic activities. However, two populations viz., Bathad and Rangrik were recorded with high diversity and largest number of private alleles, stipulates that these populations might have high evolutionary significance and response to selection. Dendrogram analysis revealed that the populations of D. hatagirea were clustered into four major clusters, which was supported by Bayesian based STRUCTURE predictions. Clustering pattern of majority individuals of different populations revealed consistency with their geographic origin. Outcomes of current study reveals the status of genetic diversity and population structure of endangered D. hatagirea, which can be futuristically utilised for appropriate planning of conservation strategies. This paper presents the use of the kinetic impact technique to deflect asteroids that may present some risk of collision with Earth. Within the work to be developed here, we intend to evaluate in more detail the possibility to deflect the orbit of the asteroid 101955 Bennu by applying variations in its velocity ([Formula see text]v) at different positions along its orbital period and measuring effects of close encounters with planet Earth. We will see that, in a relatively long period of time, the asteroid has several close encounters with the planet, thus suffering a natural gravitational perturbation. With the application of the impulses, the relative distances change, causing variations in the energy of the asteroid and a large variation in the relative distance between the asteroid and Earth over a long period after the impulse. We present results related to the magnitude of the impulse applied, which is important because its defines the mass and velocity of the impactor to be considered. Then, we mapped the positions of the impulses along a period of the orbit of the asteroid. We finish by explaining what happens to the orbit of the asteroid during the periods of gravitational perturbation, since the close encounters amount to "Swing Bys" that intensify the variations of the relative distances between the bodies after the impulse is applied. This study investigated the effect of attitude toward leisure and satisfaction with leisure policy on satisfaction with leisure activities and level of happiness in Korean caregivers for young children. Data were collected from 864 participants (397 men and 467 women) using the 2018 National Leisure Activity Survey (NLAS). The results showed that there were no significant differences between male and female caregivers in terms of satisfaction with leisure policy, satisfaction with leisure activities, and level of happiness. Women had more positive attitudes toward leisure. Satisfaction with leisure activities mediated the relationship between attitude toward leisure, satisfaction with leisure policy, and level of happiness; there were no significant differences between men and women with regard to the variables. The study suggests that attitude toward leisure and satisfaction with leisure policy promote the happiness of Korean caregivers for young children.
