Once the D4 is running the app lets you create a schedule either automatically or manually at any point. You can also utilize your voice to control it using Google Home or Amazon Alexa. And if you have an Apple Watch, you can even start a cleaning session with a simple tap on the wrist.

In our tests the model performed well on carpeted and hard flooring, picking up 91.3 percent of debris in serpentine paths. However it's not as efficient in corner and edge cleaning as more expensive models--its side sensors keep the D4 approximately 1.5 inches away from walls. And it lacks the side-sweeping brushes on all, if not the cheapest robotic cleaners. Its raised turret also means it isn't able to fit under low clearance furniture. The 980 has the most advanced cleaning system among any of our top picks, including a HEPA filter that can capture microscopic dust and allergens for improved air quality inside your home. It also supports a range of flooring options, including hardwood and tile.

The 980's top-mounted camera, sensor SLAM, and ability to navigate through tight spaces like hallways and corners are among its most prominent features. iRobot calls this technology iAdapt 2.0, and it makes use of snapshots taken by the camera to draw an internal map. 3. iRobot Roomba 985

iRobot Roomba was designed by iRobot to make your floors more beautiful, cleaner and more powerful thanks to its powerful cleaning system, smart navigation and smart integration with other iRobot devices. Its unique dirt detection system warns you of areas that require attention, and also includes smart sensors to keep it away from stairs and other risky obstacles. It also recharges automatically and keep cleaning until the task is completed. Its advanced mapping technology and vSLAM enables it to map the entire floor of your home. It also keeps track of what rooms are left to clean and the exact location of it.

Its low-profile design allows it to go under carpets, furniture, and other objects which is where dust and pet hair are often hidden. It can also clean dirt from corners and edges, unlike many robot vacuums. You can schedule cleaning times through the iRobot App or with your voice, using Alexa and Google Assistant.

iRobot's latest robot has the highest obstacle-avoiding ability of any Roomba we've tested, thanks to its front-facing camera and laser sensor. This makes it able to avoid wires and pet feces more effectively than the Roborock S6 MaxV, Ecovacs N8 Pro, and the other robotic vacuums we've reviewed.

This is also iRobot’s most powerful vacuum. It is able to clean up the dirt that has deeper particles or pet hairs that are larger, unlike other mid-range models, like the Roomba 960. This is due to the fact that the cleaner has larger brushes that rotate counter-clockwise, and an engine with more suction power.

The Roomba 995 is iRobot’s least expensive vacuum that comes with recharge and resume. However, it does not have the auto-empty feature that the I6+ or I7 offer. It also lacks iAdapt 2.0 navigation and the camera that the I7 uses to detect objects and avoid obstacles. This means that it won't be able to save maps or access features in-app that contain information, such as no-go zones.

The iRobot isn't equipped with mopping capabilities. This might not be an issue if you're just looking for a top-quality vacuum, but it's an important disadvantage for anyone considering buying an iRobot that is a hybrid.

Although it doesn't have some of the most advanced features like map-saving and selective room cleaning, the 960's navigation is superior to most other robots. It also has a bigger dirt bin than the 690.

The iRobot Roomba 960 makes a great choice for most homes. It's well-made, incurs fewer recurring costs and has a bigger dirt compartment, and can be charged faster than the more expensive RoboVac 11.
