Robot Vacuum Mop Pet Hair The Process Isn't As Hard As You Think
The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

A robot vacuum/mop combo is the best solution for pets who shed fur. It can mop, vacuum and clean its own dual mop pad.

It also has the greatest suction power of any robot we've tested, with 8000Pa. It can also set up cleaning schedules and save your house's maps using its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet/dry model comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. It uses dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind you'll find in self-driving vehicles and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping and faster response times and greater cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub tough areas as opposed to traditional mops. During my testing, the X2 Omni took just over one minute to clean its pad before getting to work, and I noticed it was more precise than the previous models, which seemed to follow a grid route around rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms and also create "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water before beginning another cleaning task.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is a breeze to set up and begin using. Snap the dock into position then plug it in and connect it to your home WiFi network. It takes only some minutes. Then, you can launch the app and begin with your first cleaning task. I was able to dig into the settings and personalize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, incorporating specific areas for sweeping and mopping and reworking my furniture placements, and so on. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored highly in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and achieved near-perfect results in crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The ECOVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most advanced of the T-line from the brand and features the new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brush for better cleaning than conventional scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing technology that can respond to a wide range of voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch between mopping and vacuuming in one run. The two modes require that you attach and remove mop heads as needed which is great for most homes but not an ideal choice for those who have a busy schedule.

However, the Deebot Omni is an excellent robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our pet hair tests. It was able to remove more than 96% of debris from our hardwood floors. This is a fantastic performance. It was a success on tiles and carpets, removing 99% of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mop has large docking stations that offers cool water cleaning for the mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L disposable bag that's simple to replace, and hot air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also has a large reservoir of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.

Deebot T10 has a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to wash and dry its mop pads while using them. It doesn't have a removable tray, so dirt, dust and other grime will gradually build up on the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first model of mopping from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It comes with improved smarts, multiple map support, and LIDAR scanning, along with twin-turbine suction technology that automatically adapts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner although it can't quite deliver on its promise of being an all-in-one solution for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a standard robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape with sweeping wheels, as well as a raised space for sensors. However, flip it over, and you'll find a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper brush that pushes dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot's'mouth'. It's a bit smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system is fairly sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones, as well as specific cleaning zones. However, it has a tendency to bump into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't always adept in climbing over carpets. It did a great job of picking up pet hair on floors that were not paved however, and in our tests, it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of litter, which is higher than all but the most powerful robots we've tested.

Although it can be controlled via the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base that allow you to choose a cleaning mode, and switch the robot off or on. These buttons can be used to set up no-go areas and access real-time maps. It's a bit chatty as well, and will tell you what it plans to do next ("start cleaning") or warn you that something's not right (it isn't able to charge, for instance).

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech model sucks up pet hair, kibble, and other debris with top-notch performance and is able to effortlessly maneuver around furniture legs. It comes with a feature set that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes as well as an automatic docking station, and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. The Wi-Fi enabled device is operated via the Neato App which schedules cleanings and maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes that have a mix of hard and carpet floors. However, it will need some planning ahead to avoid getting entangled with electrical cables, toys or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

The robot performed well during our tests on hardwood floors and food particles. It was able to pick up everything from one rice grain to several dog food pieces, with only one swipe. It had some trouble transitioning to rugs, however, this vacuum cleaner is great for large spaces with different flooring types and a variety of pets.

The A4s Pro is a bit expensive but it's an excellent buy for people who want to to leave the house without hands so that they can get out and do other things or take care chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to tackle difficult dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to establish boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly robot from a popular new brand is the most affordable we've ever tested, and provides incredible value for the money. Its basic navigation system uses a super-basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, which makes it less time efficient than other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode was very effective in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ might not be as well-built, but it is better in cleaning pet hair off all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning low-pile carpet and floor surfaces that are bare. It also utilizes smart-pathing navigational software for greater maneuverability. It can be positioned to a particular area and comes with a range of advanced automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It also lets you pause and resume cleaning sessions, so it's perfect for homes with pets.

Its self cleaning brushroll prevents tangles and can carry up to 30 days of dirt. It also comes with an assortment of angled side brushes that go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander, and allergens to ensure a healthier air.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It has a smartphone application that allows you to change the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. Robot Vacuum Mops allows you to view the remaining battery life of the iQ, and send push notifications when it encounters any issues during the cleaning session. You can control it with your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary lines.

The iQ can do a decent job of removing bare flooring and doing a good job on shaggy and low-pile carpet however, it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It's also expensive and the recurring costs can add up over time.
