Activities of school health programme:
a) Daily observation:
Daily observation and periodical inspection by the school nurse of teacher. The aims of daily observation of school children are:
➤ To detect children suffering from disease eg: chicken pox, cholera, diptheria etc.
To send the sick child home.
➤To report the sick immediately to health centre staff or hospital. ➤ To observe if the child practices good health habits in daily living
b) Medical examination:
➤ This will be carried out at least twice during school years, at the time of first admission to school.
➤ Parents will be requested to be present at the time of medical examination of their children.
➤ Teachers will assist the staff or primary health centre.
➤ Examination of each child eyes test, teeth, throat, chest, ears, limbs, skin and hair.
➤ Prepare a summary report of each school examined.

No. of cases detected of various alignments.
No. of children referred for specialists care.
c) Immunization:
➤ With the help of the teachers prepare class wise lists of children
who have received the various immunizations under the national immunization schedule and of those who are still on proteted.
➤ Arrange for carrying out the date of the immunization of unprotected children.
➤ Inform the parents of the date of the immunization programme and seek their cooperation in getting their children immunized.
d) Teachers training:
➤ Observe the children under their care for defects deviations from normal health.
Help children to develop clean personal habits.
➤ Educate the children and parents about healthful living and the need for small families.
