How to Get Touch of Styx in Hades
Hades is the Greek god of Hades is the Greek god of Underworld which is where souls go after death. He is never seen leaving his realm and is often depicted in a sombre and melancholy way. He wears a protective helmet and is accompanied Cerberus the three-headed guard dog.
When Cronus's sons Zeus, Poseidon and Hades made a lotto to determine who would reign over the cosmos, Hades received the Underworld. He is the one who rules it together with his wife Persephone.
2. Smell his odor.
Styx is able to take between 1 to 5 (ish) projectile strikes, but he also has some tools to help him avoid detection. He can fake nausea or even whistle to frighten opponents. He can also employ pockets of sand (called Sabretooths in the game) to dampen torches to kill Bee-Like Entities. He can also barf in bile on soldiers of the enemy as well as poison their food and drink and feign vomiting. All of these are unhygienic but serve their purpose and aid in his escape from enemies without appearing to be too obvious.
Other useful tools include the potions that disguise odors, making him smell like fish and rotting mud as well as the clone trick, which creates a sly copy of himself; and, the rewind button which allows the user to go back in time without losing any progress and reappear at an invisible spot. He is also able to interact with a variety of objects around him including opening doors and traps.
In Greek mythology the river Styx was a passageway that separated the mortal world from the eternal realm of Hades. The dead could traverse the Styx using the boat of Charon. The Styx was joined by the other rivers of hell, Phlegethon, Acheron and Lethe however, souls had to cross it to reach their final destination of Helheim.
Izitri Adimov, one of the planar bariaurs from the Bleak Cabal, operates a small store on Styx where he sells bottled Styx water that he claims will make anyone who drinks it forget everything they know. His motto is ignorance is bliss, and it appears to be working for him as he has a lot of customers.
4. Make contact with his eyes
The river Styx separates the world of the living from the dead, connecting Earth to Hades' realm. Styx's unique position in the pantheon meant she was more than an area of boundary. She was also known as the Goddess of Oaths, because any oath taken in her waters could not be broken. Styx took her work very seriously.
Styx was not depicted as often in early art than other deities. This could be due to her role as the border between the worlds has a gloomy tone. She is often depicted wearing dark clothes, holding a jar or an urn that her river flows from, highlighting her power over the water. She is often shown with a frown to reflect her severity and seriousness as the ultimate oath-keeper before gods.
She could be the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. Nyx, personification of darkness and sleep, may also be her mother. Zeus made her the agent to administer all oaths bind the gods after she was a staunch all-weather ally during the Titan Wars. Her children included Nike, Zelos, Kratos and Bia, all of whom resided alongside the Olympians on Mount Olympus.
In Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Styx appears as a polluted river full of souls who have been thrown into it by people who have failed to live up to their promises or fulfill their dreams. Charon, Percy, Annabeth and Grover are ferried across the river by Charon on their way to Hades. They are aware of the dirty river with all the unfulfilled spirits. This is because when someone dies their soul is dropped into the river and carried by the current to the Underworld where they will stay until Hades allows them to rest.
5. Touch his mouth.
The name Styx is arouses fear and awe in the minds of those who are aware of the mythology that goes with it. She's not just a river in the Underworld, but a goddess who is to be revered and feared.
In Greek mythology, Styx was the boundary between life and death. holmestrail.org was one of the five rivers along with Phlegethon, Acheron, Lethe, and Cocytus which formed the realm that is commonly referred to as Hades which also happens to be the name of its ruler. The soul of a dead person had to travel through Styx and the ferryman Charon and Hades in order to reach the Hades.
Only the bravest of spirits could attempt to survive this terrifying and terrifying event. The ferryman would charge an amount or "obol" to ferry them across. If they didn't, they would be condemned to wander the banks of the river as wraiths forever.
While not as prevalent in the arts as other gods, Styx is still a power to be taken seriously. Her presence is felt in oath-based rituals, as her name was invoked for the most binding promises. A promise sworn on the Styx cannot be undone and even Zeus took those oaths very seriously.
Ask Styx for help if you need divine protection. She might not respond right away, but she may be there to shield you from the dangers that fate will bring you if you are fortunate enough. She may not be able to turn you into an unbeatable god, but she will certainly keep you from suffering an extremely slow death.
