The Best Automatic Vacuum For Pet Hair
It isn't easy to keep your home free from pet hair and dander when you have pets. Robot vacuums are able to handle everything, including pet hair that's often hidden in carpets and rugs.
These four models are great at getting rid of pet hair on different types of floors. They also provide reactive obstacle avoidance and app-enabled personalization.
1. Dyson V15 Detect
The Dyson V15 Detect vacuum cleaner is the most recent model in the popular cordless stick line. While it looks a lot like its predecessors on the outside, this model has several significant improvements. It is most notable for having a much stronger motor generating the equivalent of 230 air watts, which is 24 percent more suction power than the predecessors. It can also determine the size of dust particles it collects and display this information on its LCD display.
This feature is especially beneficial for pet owners as it ensures that your floors are clean. The V15 Detect is also the first Dyson model to come with an innovative feature that is being rolled out across all models that includes a laser beam fluffy roller attachment. This attachment uses lasers of class 1 (so it's safe for both pets and humans) mounted on its motorised hard floor head to highlight the smallest dust particles that have accumulated on the floor which makes it easier to see if you have missed anything during a cleaning routine.
In our tests, the V15 did well in cleaning pet hair off both low-pile and bare carpet. It also cleared some debris from high-pile carpet, although we recommend ensuring the suction gate on its multi-surface floorhead remains partially open. It has a larger dustbin than the Miele Classic C1, feels more durable and lighter, has fewer components that require maintenance, and charges more quickly.
However, the trigger operation can be taxing for certain users when they are cleaning for long periods of time. Some users may be dissuaded due to the smaller bin (less than a Liter). It's also not as easy to move on carpeted floors.
2. Tineco PURE ONE S11
The Tineco PURE ONE S11 is a budget-friendly cordless vacuum with a unique feature: an inbuilt dirt sensor that automatically adjusts suction power as you move the vacuum across your floor. This allows you to move the stick vacuum and guarantees consistent debris-clearing results. During testing the S11 was able to remove pet hair on floors and low- to high-pile carpet. It also easily removed sand that was embedded in medium-pile carpet and a range of other small pieces of debris from our test surfaces. The S11 is also easy to store. It has a stand to keep the cordless vacuum upright as well as a clip-on storage rack for two of its attachments and an rechargeable battery that can transform the machine into a hand-vac.
The PURE ONE S11 unlike other stick vacuums that we tested features an info display that shows the battery life in real-time and the status of attachment. The S11's iLoop dirt sensors also provide information on the status of cleaning and whether the vacuum is removing dirt or has come across an obstruction or brushroll tangle.
The S11 companion app lets you monitor the battery's life, alter suction settings, and also check the intervals for maintenance and replacement for the HEPA filter, dustbin and pre-filter. The interface of the app is simple and responsive, without lag. The S11 has a similar design to the Samsung Jet 90 Complete. However, it comes with an adjustable rod that allows the vacuum to be adjusted to suit different users. It also has a turbobrush attachment that is better at cleaning pet hair off of upholstery. It is less expensive to run and a longer runtime by a single battery charge.
3. Eureka Mighty Mite
The Eureka Mighty Mite canister vacuum is a slim, sleek vacuum that delivers power and versatility at a fair price. It works well on all floor types and features a powerful 12 amp motor. It comes with large, easily removed dust bags that help reduce the time required for maintenance and cleaning. It is the best vacuum that can be used for pet hair since it is designed to remove pet hair, fur and dust.
The Mighty Mite also makes a great choice for stair cleaning due to its long hose that can reach up to 9 steps without removing the main canister at the bottom of the unit. Its compact design and light construction allow it to be carried up and down the stairs, while navigating furniture and other obstacles. The hose and wand can also be used above ground, which can be ideal for when you want to clean larger furniture or drapes.
robotvacuummops.com is louder than the other units on this list. It emits a high-pitched whine that is similar to the sound of a drill used by dentists and can be a bit annoying for certain users. It also draws around 1160 Watts, which is quite a bit for canister vacuums.
The Eureka Mighty Mite is an excellent option for anyone looking for a flexible, portable, and effective automatic vacuum for pet hair. It works well on all kinds of floors and is easy to maintain and offers an excellent value. If you want a more sophisticated canister we recommend the Hoover Whirlwind Bagless. It's a little more constructed, comes with lower recurring costs, and offers better performance on both low and high-pile carpet.
4. Wyze Cordless Vacuum
If you're looking for a lightweight and compact cordless vacuum that is able to quickly tackle daily debris, the Wyze Cordless Vacuum is an excellent choice. It has a fantastic power-to-battery life ratio, can reach hard-to-reach areas with ease and comes with many useful accessories. The entire unit and its accessories weigh less than 2.8 pounds when assembled. This makes it easy to move up high or around furniture legs. It comes with a long-lasting rechargeable battery and an allergen-trapping HEPA-filter.
PC Mag praised this cordless vacuum for its powerful suction capabilities, impressive 40 minute runtime, and a basic accessory bundle that comes in under $140. The brushless motor's design can reach 110,000 RPM to provide more power and less friction, allowing it to work more efficiently and consume less battery life while doing so. It also comes with an ancillary brush motor for picking up pet hair and other debris stuck deep in cracks or crevices.
The Wyze is smaller heavier, lighter, and longer running time than the Black+Decker AdvancedClean+ Pet dustbuster. The Black+Decker is more effective in cleaning floors with no dirt. It also has an engineered brush for more difficult mess, and a bigger dirt compartment.
5. Neato D9
Neato has been among the most innovative companies in floor care robots for over 20 years. Their D-shaped robotic cleaners, like the D8 are flat on the front, allowing them to hug walls more effectively than circular robots. This makes them a great option for cleaning corners.
LaserSmart powered by LIDAR is the same technology that self-driving cars use to map your home. They then navigate the area accurately, leaving you with those lovely straight lines on your carpet. The app is easy to use and lets you schedule cleaning sessions and set up No-Go Zones that will keep you out of areas like pet bowls and children's toys that require more attention.
The D9 boasts an industry-leading 0.7 milliliter dirt bin. This means that it requires less frequent emptying than smaller robots. It also comes with a turbo-mode with 40% more suction compared to the D8. A high-performance filter captures 99.5 percent allergens as well as tiny particles. The D9 can also recharge itself automatically and restart where it left off when its battery is running low during a thorough cleaning.
Neato's D9 is built well and comes with a premium brushed black finish that will look great with any decor. It comes with a white WiFi button and an information button as well as a large start/stop button on top. It connects to your home Wi-Fi through an integrated router, and also offers Alexa and Google Assistant integration. It is a simple set-up procedure, and I experienced no problems connecting it to my Wi-Fi network and getting the app to recognize it. The D9 worked for 171 minutes in eco mode on my test clean, which is nearly 3 times longer than the other robots that I have tested. However, it still struggled to climb over some low ledges and furniture bases, and it took some time for it to get back to the base after recharging.
