Best Robovac For Pet Hair: 11 Things You've Forgotten To Do
Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair

You may want to get a robot vacuum designed specifically for pet hair when you have dogs or cats in your home. These models are likely to have powerful suction power which can remove hair strands and fur as well as food crumbs, kitty litter and even spills.

They also have larger dustbins, which reduce the frequency of emptying. Some have an extra mopping pads.

1. Eufy RoboVac 11S

The Eufy RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum is an excellent choice for those who want to save money. It has some excellent features that help get rid of pet hair. It is quiet, has a big dirt compartment, battery and can auto clean for up to two minutes in spot cleaning mode. It also has BoostIQ which can automatically switch between a 'Standard Power" and Maximum suction" for the best performance based on the type of floor.

It does not map rooms like Roomba does however it does have a reactive obstacle avoidance and drop-sensors that keep it from running into objects (like cats or dogs) or slipping down stairs. It can also stop and resume cleaning when it sifts out debris and then moves it to the charging base. Additionally, it comes with an automatic self-emptying feature and an extremely small dust bin so that you don't need to see or touch what it's sucking up.

The 11S performed well when we tested it on untreated floors as well as a medium-sized carpet and cat hair. It didn't do as well on high-pile carpet and was a bit shaky with thicker debris, like kitty litter and cereal however, it was better than most of the competition. It also climbed over obstacles with low levels like cords effortlessly and did a great job of keeping pet hair from sticking to the brushes and wheels.

The 11S didn't do well with hair from dogs as other models, but the amount of hair was significantly lower than other models in our tests. The 11S has its limitations too, such as not being able to schedule, and only having a limited range of voice commands. However, these are minor concerns.

We suggest that you look into other robot vacuums that come with more advanced features. For instance, the iRobot Roomba 960 is better-built and is easier to maintain. It has a bigger dirt storage compartment and a faster recharge time, and has smart pathing and better performance on all surfaces than the eufy. The iRobot can also remove more pet hair and also has a longer list of functions that can assist you with your home automation.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 Omni offers a hands-free, high-end experience for cleaning floors. It's one of the most robust robot vacuums on the market and has excellent litter collection and pet hair capabilities. It's also compatible with smart home assistants, such as Alexa and Google Assistant, making it easy to tweak your cleaning schedule, and also use voice commands.

Its obstacle avoidance could be improved. The T10 Omni is susceptible to bumping into furniture and loose baseboards for cabinets, and getting stuck in tight corners. It also slams into furniture to get out of rooms, which can damage surfaces and furniture. The T10's pathing is also quite random. It isn't able to see things like socks and cords which is why it runs into them.

Fortunately, the new T10+ has improved its navigation system, and has dropped the camera found on previous models. Ecovacs instead chose to use lasers and structured light to help it navigate. This is a good move, as it helps the T10 avoid obstacles and furniture more efficiently.

The T10+ also comes with an automatic dock that cleans and dry the mopping pads to prevent the buildup of bacteria. It has a suction power of 8,000Pa and is compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice control. It's also the most expensive robot vacuum we have in our lineup, however, it is a great choice for large houses with lots of carpeted spaces.

While all robot vacuums for pets offer a certain degree of smart functionality, some are more advanced than others. Some robot vacuums allow you to modify your cleaning schedule and choose which rooms to clean. Some dust bins are larger and have a lower frequency of emptying them. Some have tangle-free brush rolls that decrease the amount of hair that is sucked up into the dustbin. Some vacuums have a lower noise level, which is ideal for people who have sensitive ears. Many robotic vacuums are compatible with smart assistants that permit voice control, and can be connected to smartphones apps to track the progress of cleaning.

3. Roomba from iRobot 960

The Roomba 960 is among the best robot vacuums designed for pet hair. It did well in most of our tests, although it struggled a bit on carpet and had issues with certain obstacles like rug tassels. It also comes with a higher price than many of its rivals, but it offers more features and superior navigation compared to other models we reviewed.

It comes with a huge dustbin and has an invisible wall, which helps keep it out of areas where you don't want it to go. It is compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant and allows you to control the robot by voice commands. The iRobot application lets you view a map of all the areas it has cleaned, and you can set your cleaning preferences.

When best robot vacuum for pet hair and mop Robot Vacuum Mops tested it on unfinished floors the 960 performed excellent job. It swept up a lot of debris on the surface, including cereal, and did a great job of picking up the embedded debris. It works well on low-pile flooring, but it loses steam when the dirt compartment is full. It has a few parts you'll need to replace regularly.

It scored highly in our Home Coverage Test, which accounts for 20 percent of the robot's overall score. It covered the entire furnished room which is more than any other robot we have evaluated. The 980 also did a fantastic job on the stairs, which is not easy for most robots to tackle. It didn't do as well as the Neato Botvac D80 or the 980 on carpets, however it did a good job.

It's a little more expensive than the D80, but it has an impressive set of smart features and a larger dustbin. The 960 is a good option if you're willing to the loss of navigation and obstacle detection but still want to have a excellent debris removal. It is also less expensive than the 980. This means it has fewer cost-per-use.

4. Roomba iRobot 990 from iRobot

The Roomba is iRobot’s top-of the-line robotic vacuum. It's the best model they have to tackle hair from pets. It's a bit more expensive than the other options on this list, but it has a blend of brains and muscle that makes it one of the most efficient robovacs available. It has the tread to get over uneven flooring, suction to take out cat litter strewn throughout your home, and connectivity to allow you to manage it remotely and even schedule cleanings from far away.

It's the smartest robovac we've tested to date and uses the most sophisticated software available from iRobot to draw out your home's layout and devise a plan of action for each cleaning cycle. To accomplish this, it uses cameras, an on-board sensor, and a special algorithm known as VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping).

Despite being able to navigate its way to your home with ease, the Roomba 980 isn't the perfect machine. Its quick cleaning leaves behind a smattering of sawdust on vinyl, and some pet hair on carpet. Fortunately, it is able to be controlled to avoid these areas with the help of a virtual barrier.

You can set them up using the iRobot app and put them close to your pet's food and water bowls, or any other place you'd like to keep clear from. The 980 has a Power Boost mode to help prevent pet hair from falling on the floor.

In terms of user experience is concerned the 980 is a pleasure to use. Its big central CLEAN button is easy to spot and is pressed down with satisfying clicks to begin the robot's cleaning process. There are three additional buttons on the exterior: a power button and a schedule button and a reset button. The iRobot App allows you to control your robot using the voice of your smartphone or even a voice command.
