10 Startups That Will Change The Robot Vacuum Mop Pet Hair Industry For The Better
The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

A robot vacuum/mop combination is the best solution for pets who shed fur. It can mop and vacuum and even clean and dry its own dual mop pads.

It also has 8,000Pa suction, which is the most of any robot we've examined. It can also save your home's maps and schedule cleaning schedules using its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs line of robot vacuum mop hybrids. This model that is dry and wet is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that found in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space up to 32 feet by the 270-degree angle. This translates to more precise mapping, quicker response times, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, which makes it easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than traditional mopping. During my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in just over a second and then got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms and also make "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station frequently to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water before beginning another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is easy to set up and begin using. Place the dock in its place, plug it in and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It only takes a few minutes. Then, you can launch the app and start with your first cleaning task. I was able to dive into the settings and customize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, including creating zones that are restricted for mopping and sweeping and reworking my furniture placements, and so on. The X2 Omni performed admirably in my tests. It scored well in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and also had near-perfect results for crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The T10 Omni from ECOVACS is a powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced model of the T-line of the brand and comes with a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that utilizes dual-spinning brushes to provide more effective cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbers. It also has YIKO integrated, a first-of-its kind natural language processing tech that allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. You can make use of the ECOVACS app to map your home, set up cleaning schedules, and adjust settings.

The T10 Omni's biggest flaw is that it's unable to switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads and take them off according to your needs. This is fine for most households, but not so for those with busy lives.

The Deebot T10 Omni is an excellent robot vacuum that has impressive results in our tests for pet hair. It was able to remove more than 96% of the dust we tossed at it on our hardwood flooring, which is an outstanding performance. It also did an excellent job on carpet and tile cleaning up more than 99percent of dirt and other debris.

This robot vacuum and mops comes with a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning with cool water for the mop pads. It also comes with an auto-emptying 3L bag that's easy to replace and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large water tank that allows more frequent rinses and dry between mopping runs.

Like many other mopping robots such as the Deebot T10, this one comes with a wash tray at its base that rinses and dries its mop pads when it uses them. It does not have a tray that can be removed, which means that dust, dirt and other grime can slowly build up at the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While the Anker-owned Eufy is well known in the robot vacuum space, this model is its first venture into the world of mopping. It is equipped with upgraded intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts to the floor you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robotic cleaner that's stylish even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't be realized.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with the sweeping wheels, as well as a raised sensor area. On the opposite side there's a motorized floorbrush as well as a single side brush that moves dust from the edges into the main path of its'mouth.' It's a bit smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

Its mapping system is reasonably sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of hitting things such as its charging station, and isn't great in climbing over carpets. It did a great job of removing pet hair on floors that were not paved, though, and in our tests, it was able to pick up 89.5% of kitty litter, which puts it ahead of all but the strongest robots we've tested.

Although it's controlled through the app and the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base, which allow you to select the cleaning mode and turn the robot off and on. Additionally, best robot vacuum mop combo for pet hair can use these to set no-go zones as well as see maps in real-time. It's a bit chatty, as well, and will inform you of what it's planning to do next ("start cleaning") or warn you that something's not right (it doesn't have enough power to charge, for instance).

4. ILIFE A4s

This model is high-tech and sucks up pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable effectiveness and effortlessly moves around furniture legs. It comes with a feature set that is impressive, including two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station and real-time obstacles avoidance technology. The Wi-Fi enabled device is controlled via the Neato App which schedules cleanings and maintenance requirements are tracked. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with carpet, hard carpet and flooring, however it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck by power cords, toys or other unexpected obstacles.

In our tests of hardwood floors and kibble it performed well and was able to pick up everything from one grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in one pass. It had some issues with rugs but, generally, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that contain both types of flooring as well as a mix of pets.

The A4s Pro is a bit expensive but it's an excellent buy for people who want to be able to leave the house hands-free so they can get out and do other things or do chores. The A4s Pro also offers a useful auto cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to handle tough dirt and spills, and is equipped with an electric ElectroWall that allows you to define boundaries where the robot isn't allowed to access.

This budget-friendly robot from a popular new brand is the cheapest we've ever tested and offers an outstanding value for the money. Its navigation system is basic and uses a super-basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, making it less efficient than the other models on this list. However it's still able to get under furniture and into corners and its mopping feature was very effective in our testing, picking up stray pet hair and other debris easily.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as well-built however it is superior in cleaning pet hair off all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning low-pile carpet and floors that are not covered. It also uses smart-pathing navigational software for greater mobility. It can be directed to a specific area, and comes with a range of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It also lets you stop and restart a cleaning session which is ideal for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent knots from pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless dock station can hold up to 30 days of dirt before needing to be emptied. It comes with angled side brushes to reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, allergens, and dander.

This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It is compatible with a smartphone application that allows you to change the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app lets you view the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications if it encounters any issues during the cleaning session. You can control it with your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary lines.

The iQ excels in cleaning floors with no dirt and it does an adequate job with carpets that are sagging and low-pile. However, it doesn't offer the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It's also expensive and the recurring costs can add up over time.
