How to Replace a Kia Sportage Replacement Key
The key in many Kia models has an entry system that is keyless into. The key can be compared to the remote control and is able to be replaced with a brand new one from a Kia dealer or a locksmith.

How to replace the remote key or the smart key?

Once the new battery is installed then turn the key fob off and then turn it on in the ignition repeatedly until the door locks cycle. You can then test the Kia's Key fob to ensure it's functioning properly.
How do I replace a smart key
You may have either the standard keyfob or Smart Key, based on the model of Kia Sportage. The difference between the two is that the smart key has an incredibly small key blade that is hidden inside, while the standard fob isn't equipped with. Both types of key fobs have batteries that eventually will need to be replaced. This is a simple procedure that takes less than two minutes.
Be sure to turn off your Kia, and be on a level, well-lit surface before you begin. Be aware that there are tiny pieces inside the fob that can be removed if not careful.
The release button for the small size is located on the lower backside. It could be an oval or circular slot. You can open the key fob by pressing the button.
After the key fob has been removed, you can remove the battery that was in it. The new battery is one called CR-2032 and can be purchased on the internet or at your local auto parts shop. Once you're done you should be able to lock or unlock your car with your key fob even if the engine isn't running!
