She has vast experience treating all general psychiatric disorders such as mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and psychoses. She also has a particular interest in eating disorders and established and supervised an Eating Disorder service while working for the NHS.

Dr De Silva is also a licensed psychologist in counselling and offers individual and group psychological treatments. She holds an Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counselling Psychology and is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society. She has also served as an examiner of the senior level for the Royal College of Psychiatrists for five years and provided academic input into Oxford University's Clinical Psychology course.
