Sherree forwarded part of your letter to me. Your kind words brought tears to my eyes. I agree with you, God caused our paths to cross. We minister to many different people, but you stood out to me. I knew there was a reason that God allowed us to talk for awhile. I felt like God has placed His hands on you. There are some people God has put in places for a purpose. I felt like that was the case with you. God knows what it takes for each of us to be saved. He has a way of calling us out or setting us aside for His perfect plan for our lives. Why? Because we went astray and in His infinite wisdom He knows what it takes to draw us back to Him. Some of that is what the old people used to call, "Coming up on the rough side of the mountain". The hard lessons are the ones that really stick with us. They can be and often are, life changing. Our pastor teaches us that we want to become better, not bitter as a result of our tests and trials. I know some of us bring it on ourselves with the choices that we make.
I tell my grandchildren that I cover them in prayer, but it's up to them to make wise choices also.
I'm thankful we serve an all wise God that is long-suffering and forgiving. God has given gifts to each of us, but it's up to us to use the gifts to the glory of God or not. I wish I could sing, I would love to. My 2 daughters can really sing, but not me. I make melodies in my heart and make the joyful noise the Bible speaks about.
Seek God's face and His will for your life. Make plans for when you are on the outside again and what you will do. Seek God's face and be encouraged. Tell yourself, "I am what God says I am. I can have what God says is mine". God knows the plans He has for you. Let His word be, "a lamp to your feet and a light to your paths. He will never steer you the wrong way.
