Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin
You need a double stroller to take your twins from A to B. Our range of twin prams includes twin buggies that can be configured in different ways to suit your requirements.
Look for a stroller that can be folded in one step and easily lifted into your car. You might also want lightweight designs that are easy to maneuver and navigate, particularly if you have busy high streets to traverse.
Side-by-Side
This is the most common double pushchair. It usually seats two children side by side. They're generally bigger than single pushchairs. This can make them less agile on footpaths. It is also difficult to move between kerbs when the car seat is in place. However the extra width means that they're usually easier to navigate through doorways and are more evenly distributed making them less burdensome to carry around on your back.
They can be used as twin prams from birth and many models can be used with a carrycot and 2 car seats. Some models can be converted to a single mode with a basket on the side (like the Cybex Venus).
One of the best examples of this is the Bugaboo Donkey 5 which, in Twin Mode, allows you to put the rear seat and a carrycot side by side. This allows you to create a fully enclosed twin room and is ideal for infants. The pram comes with very cool accessories, such as the newborn cocoons that can be positioned either facing forwards or in any direction (for twin-facing prams). It's not as light as other models however it's very cleverly created.
pushchair with car seat Pushchairs And Prams is a brand known for its innovation and this pushchair that converts from a single to a double is no exception. The clever frame can be expanded to accommodate a second seat and can be used it as a twin right from birth with the addition of two newborn cocoons (PS59 each) that create enclosed lie-flat spaces for babies. The large shopping basket that is behind the seat allows it to be used in mono mode for one child. It also has a rear and front suspensions that can handle bumps and uneven surfaces more easily. It is a top pick among our reviewers.
Available in a range of stylish colors.
Tandem
If you are planning to have twins you will need a tandem pushchair. This will allow both children to sit together and see each other. They are ideal for trips to the zoo since the kids can watch the animals together. These are also great for parents who want to watch both their toddler and their baby simultaneously.
Some tandem pushchairs are extremely adaptable, as they can be converted back to single mode. This is especially useful when you are planning to have more children than two (or in the event that your child who is the oldest does not require a buggy any longer). This will save you from having to store an empty buggy, which can be expensive.
For example the Cybex Venus can be used in double or mono mode, and features a clever frame that opens wide to accommodate a second seat. This isn't the heaviest of pushchairs, but it does come with a large basket for shopping which is located behind the front seat when in double mode (and in the back of the seat in mono mode). The seats can be set to face each other or one could be placed higher, so that it can be able to look over the other and see what they're up to.
Other double tandem pushchairs such as the Joolz Geo 3 can seat one on top of the other or side-by-side. The sleek, compact frame makes it easier to navigate through doorways and aisles in supermarkets. Some models can be used on uneven terrain or as a jogging walk thanks to their large rear wheels and four-wheel suspension.
Another advantage of a tandem pushchair is that it can often include two carrycots, or a car seat, and a buggy seat. You can save money by creating an overall travel system from the beginning and not making separate purchases. Keep in mind that tandems are more heavy and longer and may feel less stable when bumping into kerbs or navigating uneven surfaces. These pushchairs also need to be dismantled to fit in cars.
