韓国人です。
名付け方はですね、「行列」って言う規則で決められた字を使って名付けます。格家門にそれぞれの「行列」のチャートがあって、生まれた世代によって決められた１字にいい意味の字を選んで２文字又は１文字の名前にすることが昔からの慣習です。
名前をみればどの姓氏（家門）の何代目であるかが分かります。例えば、金氏家門で20代目に生まれた赤ちゃんの場合、20代目の行列の字である「正」に、いい意味の「優」を組み合わせますと、金正優（キムジョンウ）って名前になります。兄弟やいとこの場合も同じく20代目の字を使って名付けます。この金さんの子供は21代目の字を使って名付けられます。
最近はハングルの名前も増えてますが、公共機関などでは名前のハングルと漢字の両方の記入を求められることが多いです。
