Bentley Keys Are Bold, Adventuresome and Uncompromising

Bentley cars are brave, adventurous and uncompromising. Their most important accessories reflect the same attitude.

The keys issued by the University are coded according to the person to whom they are issued. Departments are responsible for complying with the key control policy, and for ensuring that all keys issued to individuals leaving the University are recovered.

With Bentley's 100th anniversary set to be next year and the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition Mulsanne. It pays homage to the company's founder, W.O. Bentley, and even contains the remains of one of his personal cars.

The special model available on the long or regular wheelbase Mulsanne or Mulsanne Speed, was inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. used as his personal car. Its influence can be felt throughout the interior and even a Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet that features an open display window that displays an image of the original crankshaft of the 8 Litre that is displayed inside.

W.O. is emblazoned in the form of a B-shaped photoetched air vent on the chrome application through the back of the vehicle. the car's signature, a front grille patterned on the 1930s-appropriate Onyx color of the limited edition, and an optional chrome application that wraps around the lower spoilers left and right. The front grille is also a a unique design, with an aluminum shell that replaces the body-colored mesh of Mulsanne. It also includes the Flying B Logo.

The key box is engraved with Bentley wings and is fitted with an black flock lining. Key pouches on their own can be purchased to match or contrast the key box. The commemorative set also includes a bespoke 1:18 scale model of the 8 Litre and an air-borne 'B' paperweight and an illustrated brochure that includes previously unpublished images of the original 1930s 8 Litre.

The knurling of the metal-to-metal key fob mimics textures found in the interior, like the seat temperature controls and the shift knob. "We wanted the knurling to look as uniform and elegant as possible," says Van Braekel. It was important to keep the size and shape of the fob the same.

Bentley Mulliner customers are able to specify any color from the Bentley portfolio, as well any combination of hides or veneers, and custom embroidery. Nearly 400,000 stitches provide Bentley's signature diamond-in-diamond quilting across the entire cabin, and the mood lighting can be adjusted to suit a range of different moods.

Standard exteriors include illuminated treadplates and brushed silver clocks and the new 22in wheels that feature self-leveling Bentley logos. Customers can also get a custom Bentley logo laser-etched onto the rear fixing, paying homage to the 1930 8 Litre W.O. The car was inspired by the 1930 8-liter W.O. Employees must keep track of their keys to their department and not lend or transfer them to other people.
