11 Strategies To Refresh Your Bentley Key Fob Programming
Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit, has created a unique keycase to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the brand. Made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it comes with a flying 'B' paperweight, a set keys and a brochure featuring never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

This is the ideal way to greet a new owner of a vehicle.

Aesthetics

Bentley is a firm that takes its aesthetics very seriously. It's evident in the exact placement of its quilting, the selection of leather from cattle by-products, the wood from sustainably managed forests and the unique patterns on its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you approach it, displaying its sculptural beauty and power through carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever built. The rear tonneau, for instance, displayed the largest piece of dark-stained, book-matched Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to a production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this bespoke design, craftsmanship and attention to detail that have established Bentley as the most sought-after automobile brand. The company continues to push the boundaries with the latest technology and craft, including the introduction of a digital instrument cluster with an electric tilt-opening back glass sunroof, a handcrafted docking station for Apple iPads and electrochromic "smart" glass that can be changed from opaque to transparent with the push of the button.

A century after its founding, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership following years of wrangling with BMW was able to celebrate its centennial in the year 2019. The marque planned a number special occasions and launches to mark the occasion before pandemic planning became a priority.

Design

Bentley is known for its extravagant and luxurious automobiles, but even keys are designed to stand out. The Bentayga Key is made of sterling silver with an enormous B' logo to signal to everyone that you're a Bentley. The key is also inscribed with the dates 1919 and 2019, to mark the company’s centenary.

Bentley Mulliner reinvented and designed the Mulsanne to be the ultimate Grand Touring vehicle. It features two opposing pairs of rear seats that were inspired by luxury private aviation offering passengers unbeatable comfort and security. A customized heating, air conditioning and ventilation system has been developed to provide each passenger with the ideal climate control setting.

The Mulsanne has a twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine that generates 560bhp as well as 479lb-ft torque. This incredibly powerful power is paired by a new suspension system that offers Bentley's signature quiet ride.

Bentley has introduced a special specification for cars made after the year 2019 in order to celebrate its centenary. This is known as the Centenary Specification. This includes cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests seats, the interior and other areas of the car. This is a great way to celebrate the occasion. A bespoke Bentley key case is also included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key has a button that opens the trunk, and another button that can start the car. It also has a button to switch on the parking break. There is a knob to fold and unfold the mirrors while parked in tight areas. Utilizing this feature will help you get into and out of your car more quickly.

Each key takes two days to make. The key is cut by hand, shaped by hand, stitched, sealed, and then polished to create a high-end result. It is lightweight and durable, and it fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to the Volkswagen Phaeton's massive car key, but feels more heavy and luxurious.

It also comes with Secure-A-Key which can help prevent keyless entry theft. This device is inserted into the remote control fob, and disables it when the key isn't used for a short period of time. thekeylab.co.uk stops thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices which can unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's unique design is a reflection of the company's values that include high-quality craftsmanship and engineering expertise as well as modern technology. The headquarters in Crewe are home to more than 4000 employees who are responsible for the design, development, and production of Bentley vehicles. These workers utilize techniques passed over generations and then apply them to the latest in technology in the automotive industry. This is British manufacturing at its finest.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers create their own car. The "mood station" allows guests to select images that inspire them. They can choose anything from picturesque vistas to sporting events. Each time a selection is made, a pattern appears that reveals the model and color preferences of the personalized Bentley.

The guests are given a key case made by hand that contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can be fitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the pathway of the opening door with the owner's logo or name as they approach the car.

Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man-hours to construct and construct a Mulsanne. The key to this time-consuming effort is a deliberate refusal to take advantage of modern technology. Instead of using a machine to place the perfectly matched cross-stitched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Drivers are required to park their vehicles manually, rather than relying on the built-in sensors to direct them to perpendicular and parallel spaces.

At the event, Bentley presented its Mulliner personalization options with a special example - the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays tribute to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited-edition cars include an exclusive key that shows a slice of the 1930 8 Litre's crankshaft.
