The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you are seeking a robot vacuum and mop that's middle-of-the-road. It offers a great mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.

During tests, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium-pile. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.

1. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It has impressive cleaning power and numerous features, including a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your habits for cleaning and suggest automated schedules to give you an effortless cleaning experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the push of a button. You can opt for an overall clean that focuses on the removal of large debris such as cereal and rice or two detailed maps of your space to ensure that your entire home is properly arranged.

This robot vacuum is effective both on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as quickly as some others do, and it can even clean up pet hair with ease. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot says it will improve with future models.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that concentrates on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that uses an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it hug walls and furniture. It's a great improvement over the hockey puck-like design of most robovacs, though we found it to be incrementally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with superior filtration that blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We think this is a nice claim but not enough to justify a premium price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors that remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles, like stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your entire home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, and set up virtual boundary markers, so it can recognize areas that require more attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it comes to robots that combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as good as those found on more expensive models. The mopping system is superior as its spinning pads scrub your floors much better than the vibrating pads.

The only issue is the absence of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, that's not a major issue for those who want to own one of the best robots available. The robo-vac's dust tank also larger than many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.

In terms of the mopping device, I was awestruck by its ability to remove the tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping modes that it has that are less abrasive than the more powerful ones, produce little noise, allowing you to work or even watch television without interruption. It will gently bump into a wall or furniture and move on whenever it comes across one.

The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and automatically transfers garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app is good at nagging you only when something is in need of attention, such as the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled cleaning session that was cancelled because of a full dust bin.

You can also design and merge rooms to modify the way that Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is helpful when you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or when you have to frequently get rid of clutter like clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the best performers in my tests cleaning up debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first attempt. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying them with a towel before sending it into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum with all the features you could want. It has the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has self-cleaning bases that automatically empty and cleans mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. Although these features are useful, they also make the L10s Ultra more in the category of luxury, which might make it somewhat more expensive than what some homeowners need.

The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum detect and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for families with pets or children.

The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability that clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our hard-floor test and taking out all but the most stubborn juice stains. The mops are also efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our tile, wood, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't as great at tackling sand on the floor or the quaker oats that are on carpet.
