The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet
If you have carpet with a high or low pile, there's a robot vacuum for you. These smart appliances navigate your home automatically clean up debris and clean under furniture.
Many of them have advanced features, such as mapping, which helps them navigate your home and remember furniture positioning. They can also boost the suction power to tackle dirtier surfaces.
iRobot Roomba 694"
The Roomba 694 from iRobot is a robot vacuum for entry-level use that works well on carpets with a low pile or bare floor. It has a good suction and is able to clean most debris, however it isn't able to handle larger debris such as rice or sand. It also does a decent job at cleaning pet hair but it's not impervious to tangling as top Roomba models like the j7 or I6.
The Roomba 694 is simple to use. It features three buttons on the top cover. Clean, which launches a cleaning session and 'Dock' that places it in its charging station, and "Spot," which initiates the targeted cleaning. It is controlled by an app for smartphones which lets you program or stop/start cycles as well as alter settings. You can also pair it with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.
This vacuum cleaner is slower than others, but can still get into the most crevices and corners. It comes with a large bin, which makes it easier to empty. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers, which lets you program the robot to stay out of certain areas or to stop cleaning altogether to avoid it from getting stuck.
Although it's not the most efficient model in its price range, it's better than many other alternatives. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning capability than the Roomba 694 and it is able to clean both carpets with a low pile and bare. It also follows a more efficient cleaning path and has a longer battery life. It is also more durable, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, costs less over its lifetime, and charges faster than 694.
It is also worth considering other models within the iRobot range, including the v7 and the 981. They're more expensive, however they provide significant improvements over the 694 in terms of performance on both low and bare floors. They also follow an efficient cleaning path, have a bigger dirt compartment, are quicker to charge, move more easily, and are much easier to connect to smart home devices.
Shark RV1001AE IQ
This budget self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does an excellent job on carpets with a low pile and hard flooring. The combo brush can reach into corners and edges and it automatically boosts suction when it senses carpet. It also is effective in cleaning dirt that is embedded in carpets that are mid-pile. The IQ has a small footprint and also a self-emptying function. However, if you wish to change floor levels on the map or create no-go zones you'll have to manually reset it to do so, which is somewhat of a hassle.
The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated features, however it isn't equipped with no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. Its smart-pathing system allows for superior maneuverability, and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is effective, although it can get caught on the tassels of the rug.
In our tests in our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair with ease, removing huge amounts of hair from floors with no flooring and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less efficient with shag carpets, as it was unable to reach dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. This Web site was able to maneuver the legs of a chair, tiny spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice that it was a little slower on bare floors but it quickly recovered and performed better than the other robots we tried.
The IQ is a more suitable option for most users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery life, and is better at navigating around obstacles. It comes with mopping tools that are able to clean up sticky messes. The iRobot is, however, feels better constructed and has less components that require maintenance or replacement, incurs less recurring costs, can create virtual no go zones with its companion application. It can even resume the cleaning process from where it left off in case it runs out of battery before having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice commands, which is a big plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The eufy RoboVac 11S isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum on the market but it does provide excellent cleaning power at an affordable price. The RoboVac 11S is designed for budget-conscious consumers who don't need a complex mapping system, or an app to control it. The robot can run for up to an hour and includes a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.
The 11S is slim, sleek, and features a tempered-glass upper deck that resembles polished aluminum. It's a refreshing departure from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.
The eufy11S was successful in our tests to remove larger particles and fine dust from hard floors. However, it was unable to give high and medium pile carpets a thorough clean. It also has a tendency to smack into furniture and people in its path however, it's able detect those obstacles using sensors. When it encounters them, it halts and emits an alarm so that you can manually steer it through the obstacle before getting back to work.
The BoostIQ mode is a great feature of the eufy11S. It lets you configure the robot to automatically adjust suction force based on the type of floor and the amount of dirt. The remote control makes it simple to direct the 11S to your desired location.
Single Room Mode is a great option for those with small furniture in the space you want to vacuum. The eufy is capable of spending up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.
You can also choose Edge Cleaning that reduces the amount of time spent in each area to 20 minutes for optimal battery life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner by cleaning edges and corners.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum that is a top performer on carpet. Its performance is also great on bare floors. It can pick up small particles like rice easily and it doesn't suffer from suction efficiency even as its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens, keeping your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you don't have to buy additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.
It's not quite as powerful as other models, but it's excellent for deep cleaning and fighting the toughest stains. Two front cameras provide live feeds of images on your smartphone, and it features one of the most effective obstacle avoidance systems we've seen. It also comes with a huge dustbin, a long running time and a speedy and smooth clean-up.
Unlike most other robots, the Complete C1 can switch between a standard powerhead and a turbo head to accommodate different floor types. The turbo head works best on low-pile or high-pile carpeting while the standard powerhead is ideal for bare floors and light carpets. It also comes with an automatic height adjustment system, which allows it to easily adapt to various types of flooring without any manual adjustments.
This model comes with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on carpets with a hard surface and carpets with a medium pile. The powerhead is also easy to maneuver and can get into difficult spots. It comes with five levels of surface adjustment and a switch that lets you turn off the brushroll to avoid hairs getting caught in tangles.
The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll as well as an UtraClean mode that cycles across the same area three times to ensure the best possible clean, and a self-emptying dustbin that can be emptied with the press of the button. Its sound level is slightly higher than other models however its powerful 1,200-watt motor as well as sturdy build make it worth the extra cost.
If you're willing to pay an extra amount it is the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is a fantastic all-purpose robot vacuum. best robot vacuum is more effective on carpets than the Classic C1. It performs better on all kinds of floors, is more solidly constructed, and comes with an HEPA filter.
