A modem is a box that connects your home network to your internet service provider. A router is a box that lets all of your wired and wireless devices use that internet connection at once and allows them to talk to one another directly.

A modem is a device that connects your home, usually through a coax cable connection, to your Internet service provider (ISP), like Xfinity.
A router connects your devices to each other and, in hard-wired connection setups, to the modem. The router connects to your modem and then to your devices (laptops, smart TVs, printers, etc.) via either an Ethernet cable or, in the case of a wireless router, WiFi signal.

What are WiFi Boost Pods and how do they work?
WiFi Boost Pods are devices that can be paired with a compatible xFi Gateway to create a mesh WiFi network in your home. Pods help eliminate areas where WiFi coverage drops or is weak, also known as "dead spots." They provide extended, more consistent WiFi coverage throughout your entire home.


Pods can be purchased by eligible Xfinity Internet customers with a compatible xFi Gateway at an Xfinity Retail Store or online at xfinity.com/xfipods.

How much do Pods cost?
If you are an eligible customer, you can purchase a Pod for $119 or two Pods for $199. There will also be a shipping and handling fee for online purchases. The cost will appear on your next Comcast bill as an "WiFi Boost Pods" line item.

Each additional Xumo Stream Box is just $5 per month. If you'd like to cancel your service for any reason, you’ll need to return your Xumo Stream Box.

Xumo Stream Box will replace Xfinity Flex as a streaming box for all new Xfinity Internet customers. Xfinity Flex will no longer be available for new Xfinity customers; however, existing Flex customers can continue using their Flex boxes unless they return their box for technical difficulties or want to add an additional box to their home.




Xumo Stream Box service comes with a $15 one-time Xumo Activation Fee (plus tax) for new customers.
The activation fee will be included on your first Xfinity bill after signing up for Xumo Stream Box.
Your first Xumo Stream Box is included for no additional monthly cost with your Xfinity Internet service.
Each additional Xumo Stream Box is just $5 per month.
