The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet
There's a robot for any carpet type, whether it's high-pile or low-pile. These smart devices navigate your home automatically clean up debris and clean under furniture.
A lot of them come with advanced features, like mapping, which allows them to navigate around your home and keep track of furniture positioning. They also can increase the suction power to clean up surfaces that are dirtier.
iRobot Roomba 694
The Roomba 694 from iRobot is a robot vacuum for entry-level use that performs well on both bare floors and low-pile carpet. It has a good suction however, it struggles with larger debris such as grains of rice or sand. It also does a good job at cleaning pet hair, but it's not impervious to tangling as premium Roomba models like the j7 or I6.
The Roomba is simple to use. It features three buttons on the top cover. "Clean," which launches a cleaning session, 'Dock,' which puts it in its charging station and 'Spot,' which activates a targeted cleaning. You can control it using a smartphone application that allows you schedule cycles, stop/start the cycle and change settings. You can also connect it with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.
This vacuum is a little slower than the others, however it's still able to reach the majority of crevices and corners. It has a huge dust bin that is ideal to reduce the frequency at which you need to empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which lets you set the robot to avoid certain areas or to stop cleaning completely to stop it from becoming stuck.
It's not the best for its price, however it's superior to other models. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with superior cleaning efficiency on carpets with low and no pile. It also has a longer-lasting battery and a more efficient route. It is also more robust, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, and costs less over its lifetime, and charges faster than 694.
You may also want to consider other models from the iRobot range, such as the v7 and the 981. They're more expensive, however they offer significant improvements over the 694 in terms of cleaning performance on both low and bare floors, use the most efficient cleaning method and have a larger dirt compartment, are more efficient to charge, can move more easily, and are more easy to connect to smart home devices.
Shark RV1001AE IQ
This budget self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does a good job on carpets with low piles and hard flooring. Learn Additional gets into corners and edges and it automatically increases suction when it detects carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning embedded dirt on carpet in the middle. The IQ has a small footprint and also a self-emptying function. However, if you wish to change floor levels on the map, or set no-go zones you'll have manually reset it to do so, which is a bit of a hassle.
The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation features however, it's not able to access no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing technology allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is effective however it can be caught on rug tassels.
In our tests, we observed that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to get rid of a large amount of debris on bare floors, and a fair amount on medium-pile rug. It was less efficient on shag carpets, where it struggled to reach dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It was able to maneuver the legs of chairs, small spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a bit slower on bare flooring but it was able to recover speed and was more efficient than the other robots that we test.
The IQ is a more suitable option for most users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a larger dustbin and lasts longer on a charge, and is capable of moving itself over obstacles. It also has mopping attachments that can deal with sticky debris. On the other hand, the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and can even create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It can even restart cleaning from where it left off if it runs out of battery before having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice commands, which is a major benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum around, but it does offer powerful cleaning capabilities at an affordable price. It's a budget-friendly option for buyers who don't require a complex mapping system or app to control the device. The robot can run for more than an hour and includes the remote, a cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.
The 11S is slim and sleek, and features a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like brushed aluminum. It's a nice contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more utilitarian and industrial.
The eufy11S did well in our tests at removing larger particles and fine dust from hard floors. However, robots that vacuum and mop was unable to give medium and high pile carpeting an effective deep clean. The device is also prone to bump into furniture and people that are in its path, but it's able to detect these obstacles using sensors. It stops and emits a loud ring when it comes across an obstacle. Then, you can manually guide the device around it to restart it.
shark i robot vacuum is another fantastic feature of the eufy11S. It lets you set the robot up to automatically adjust suction strength based on the type of floor and the level of the mess. The remote control makes it simple to direct the 11S to your desired place.
If you don't have a lot of furniture in the space where you'd like to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.
Edge Cleaning is another option that can limit the time spent on each area to just 20 minutes. This will extend the battery's life. This feature allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner cleaning edges and corners.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robotic vacuum that is a top performer on carpet. Its performance is also great on floors that are not bare. It is able to remove rice and other fine debris effortlessly. The suction power doesn't decrease as the dirt bin fills. Its air-sealed and allergy-friendly design traps allergens and keep your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin which means you don't require additional filters or a vacuum bag.
It's not as powerful as the more expensive models, but it's still excellent for dealing with stains and deep cleaning. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide live feeds of images on your smartphone, and it features one of the top obstacle avoidance systems we've seen. It has a huge bin, a long running time and an easy, bump-free clean-up.
The Complete C1 is unlike most robots in that it can switch between the standard head and turbo to suit different types of flooring. The turbo head is ideal for carpeting that is high-pile and low-pile and the standard powerhead can be used on unfinished floors and light carpets. It also comes with an automated height adjustment system, which lets it easily adapt to different types of flooring without any manual adjustments.
This model is included with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on hard floors and carpets of medium pile. The motor can also be easily moved and can reach hard-to-reach areas. It comes with five levels of surface adjustment as well as a brushroll off switch to prevent hairs from getting tangled.
The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll and an UtraClean mode that goes back and forth over the same area three times for the best cleaning possible and a self-emptying trash bin that can be emptied with the touch of a button. The sound level of this model is greater than other models. However, its powerful motor with 1,200 watts and sturdy construction are worth the extra cost.
If you're willing to spend a little more it's worth it. Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-round canister robot vacuum that is more effective on carpet than the Classic C1. It is more effective on all kinds of floors, is more solidly constructed and comes with a HEPA filter.
