Good morning everyone I Nikita Chamoli will be introducing you about SAP ABAP HANA.

Before explaining SAP I will brief you about ERP so that we cab connect exactly what is SAP ABAP HANA.

ERP Enterprise Resource Planning is an integrated information system that serves all departments with an organization. That's taking all the data- integrate and process into a single system. It is easy to adapt , scale and maintain.

So, why knowing ERP was an important key because
SAP is an ERP PRODUCT and currently erp market leader.

It has a very high level of integration among its individual applications which guarantees consistency of data throughout the system.


ABAP is a generation programming language that was developed by SAP to provide optimal working conditions for programmers.


HANA stands for High performance Analystic Appliance is a hardware and software combination that enables customers to analyze large volumes of data in real time.

This was the basic domain knowledge in this I would be briefing you all about the SAP's Transport management system that represents the centralized change and transport system for all Real time 3 tier architecture systems. This enables Admin to manage the change request and minimize human interventions in handling which helps in organizing the development projects in streamlined manner. The Change and Transport System is a tool that helps you to organize development projects in the ABAP Workbench and Customizing, then transports the changes between the SAP Systems in your system landscape. Changes can be linked together logically, or can be completely independent of each other. When you have finished your work, you can release the task & request respectively The change request is then used to copy the changes from client to other clients or systems. This automatic procedure is known as a transport. Transports of changes by the CTS allow you to develop in one environment, test your development work in a test environment, and then, if the tests are successful, use it productively. We can divide clients into mainly three categories : 1.Customizing client-SAP system requires a client where Customizing settings, and ABAP Workbench developments, can be made ▪ 2. Before we can use the Customizing settings and Workbench we need to test them extensively for errors Such clents are called Quality Assurance Client ▪ 3 Separate client is required for productive use of the System. This client is known as the Production Client. Transport layer is assigned to each development class and all the objects in that class. Any changes to customize object in the do not automatically transport to target system. There are Two procedures to use import which is done by BASIS team:- ▪ 1.Mass Transport ▪ 2.Single Transport 1. This procedure imports all the request waiting for import in the queue. It’s a secure way and a good solution if we have large number of transport to administrator. 2. Procedure of Single Import for frequent transportation.. If organization doesn’t include fixed import times Or if we want to maintain production system directly. Transport Organizer is set of tools in the SAP for managing development project in the ABAP workbench and in customizing for preparing and managing transportation between the system. The Transaction codes used are SE09 or SE10 It Provides functions to create, document and release of change request. There are multiple ways to manage and record the changes for the object, which are Record Changes in the Change request for repository object. It Wors with Change request from creation to release. Also Checks whether transported request were successful or not.




Types of Request is A source of information in the transport organizer that records and manage all the modifications during a development .



Workbench Request is A source of information in the transport organizer that records and manage all the modifications made to repository and customizing settings during a development work. For every change to the repository object we need to assign that to specified workbench request. From the system if transport route is defined for the package of these objects the system determines if the change request are transportable and to which target system. We can only save the changes if we assign object to a change request.


Customizing Request Few request for copying and transporting changed system settings from client specific tables. Its main feature as said is to customize the record client-specific that is made in a single client and usually these will be done in transaction SPRO. Customizing request in the System are all transportable or local depend on System settings. It uses Standard Transport layer to determine automatically if change request are transportable and to which target system. We can only save the changes if we assign object to a change request .

Transport of Copies as the name explains is to Transport object to a specified SAP system. The Objects are transported with the current version in SAP system. Original location of the object will remain. No delivery to another SAP System.

In release request or relocation the user cannot use reaslsed request and tasks in the transport organizer to edit the repository.


For the instance if user wants to do any modifications for the objects which are present in the released to create new transport. To Modified Request The user can use modifiable requests and tasks in the Transport Organizer to edit and transport the repository .
