Playing violent video games makes people violent in real life for three reasons. One reason to support the claim is that when people play video games, they tend to make risky decisions such as bullying. According to the third paragraph of the article “Violent Video Games and Aggression” by Lauren Goldbeck, states, “The longer that individuals are exposed to violent video games, the more likely they are to have aggressive behaviors, thoughts, and feelings.” Another reason to hold up the claim is that people who play violent video games are more likely to imitate negative behavior coming from most violent video games. Evidence from “Pro and Con: Violent Video Games” from the fifth paragraph states, “By inhabiting violent characters in video games, people are more likely to imitate the behaviors of those characters and have difficulty distinguishing reality from fantasy.” The third and last reason to back up the claim is that people who experience or play violent video games might undergo health issues or mental problems. As stated by “Daily Violent Video Game Playing and Depression” by Susan R. Tortolero, “The link between violent video game content and depression is plausible in light of research indicating that people’s exposure to real-life violence, either as victims or witnesses, is associated with poor mental health outcomes including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.”
