How is John Snow's contribution relevant today?
John snow was a british physician who founded modern epidemiology . Best known for leading the development of anaesthisa and medical hyginie. Born and raised in England in one of the poorest neighboorhoods i the city. Growing up he has experienced unsniatary conditions and contamination in his neighboorhood. In the 1830s a friend of john snow and him worked together to conducte research on Englands edipemics further on in his career he became a founding member of the epidemiololgical society of london which was formed in May 1850 in response to the cholera outbreak of 1849….
The most important contribution of john snow evolution to public health was his work epidemiology during the 1854 Broad street cholera outbreak in london. With john snow taking to approach to investigate the source of the outbreak helped him figure out the foundation for modern public health practices. He created a systematic and data driven investigation to figure out the patterns of the diseases spread. The ingestigation contained john snow visiting households and gather information about the cholera cases and recorded data details like location and symptomons . With the recorded data he was able to see identify clusters of the outbreak which were located by the broad street water pump. Which helped john come up with his theory that the disease was waterborne. After his observation he took a approach to remove broad street pump handle.
His contribute is relevant today to public health mainly because of innovative work during the 1854 cholera outbreak. John investigation to find the synotoms, location,
