Why do you think it is a life long dream for a chef to be prasied and congratulated by a previous tire company? This is the story behind how a tire company became a world class reward for resturants around the world. During the late -19 hundreds a duo of brothers who settled in France, Andre and Edouard wanted to keep the heartbeat of their fathers tire company but they quickly encountered problems. People who had cars would hate to drive them because of the way the roads were layed, with potholes and cracks all throught France. The brothers set off to make a way people wanted to drive cars more, so they could get more cars that need their tires replaced. Later, Andre created a guide called the Michelin Guide that had a map of decent roads, good resturants, and hotels. Kind of like a paper version of Google Maps. Since most people were foodies back in France, Andre would rate the resturaunts. If the food was good and worth a stop, one star; If the food was really good, worth a detour, two stars; and if the food was out of the world, worth a proper visit, three michelin stars. From then onward the Michelin Guide had become really popular across France and started to go international. To this day the Michelin Guide has over 30 million copies. As time passed by the cars became cheaper and more advanced and now the Michelin Tire company has over 200 million tires across the world. This is the story of how a tire company became a world class food rating system.
