“Sunny, don’t forget your bag!” Tubbo calls out to his daughter as he steps out of their home. She may be almost fourteen, but she’s just as forgetful as the day Tubbo met her. Sunny rolls her eyes in annoyance, but grabs it anyway.

They’re heading over to Phil and Missa’s home‒ well, just Phil’s now. Digging into his own bag, Tubbo made sure that the bag of plant seeds was still safely tucked inside. The bag was for Tallulah, Phil’s granddaughter who he’d claimed as her daughter now. Tubbo watches as Sunny closes the door behind her, the wood making a heavy thud, and they begin their trek.

Tubbo loves Sunny, because of course he does, but something has her on edge recently. She’s quicker to anger, making more reckless decisions that have put her into danger. Just three weeks ago, Sunny had been dragged from the border by a federation worker. Her excuse had been, ‘It’s just a forest, I’m not going to get mauled by a bear!’

Tubbo had grounded her for two weeks inside the home, Tallulah being the only one who could still come over since Sunny refused to talk with Tubbo during it.

The forest wasn’t the thing they were all worried about, it was the border. And frankly, what was beyond it. Everyone alive had agreed to not explain to the kids why. Because if they did, they’d have to explain the whole story, which none of them wanted to remember.

They planned to have another large meeting too,‒ if you could call it large‒ since more and more of their kids were testing the boundaries of how far they could go. It was pure luck Pomme had made it back alive, as she was collecting flowers and other plants to make paint. She had unknowingly walked past the border. Baghera had told them it was a miracle Fit had found her first.
