The song 'El Picket Sign' gives and impression of a fun and almost boppy/lively tune. Although the songs quite depressing , sorrowful and outcaste however, tune of the song is really cheerful. This is not really helpful for the grape boycotters as if American don't know what the song means. Furthermore, if this song is in Spanish it doesn't do much for the protesters as its wont affect American a flake. When it was performed Americans didn't listen to what they had to say as Americans thought it was useless and unmeaningful. On the other hand it could create a depressing and discouraging song. This is shown in the quotation/lyric 'Ya tenemos mas del ano Pelando con esta huelga' which mean 'We've spent most of out year fighting for this strike' in English . The word 'ano/year' suggest and long period of time and something you've really worked hard for. But on a deeper level, the word 'huelga/strike' suggests that they are giving up on everything they have to try create freedom and equality for all. Contextually, Mexicans and Filipinos
