How does the billing work on a pay as you go SIM for a GPS
Your Programmable Wireless account will be billed monthly on the first day of each month. This charge will cover a combination of your data consumption and any optional features you have chosen, including national and international roaming.
Depending on your Data Metering Plan you will be billed for the data consumed by your device(s) each time it connects to a network and transmits/receives a message (Command). There are multiple options, ranging from Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) which charges per byte of data, through to Quota and Developer plans which impose a minimum monthly spend but give discounts on the per-megabyte rate.
What happens if you run out of credit?
As with any mobile phone or SIM card, your pay as you go SIM will typically come with a set allowance of calls, texts and data. This will expire at the end of the month or you can change it if you wish, which is why it's important to read the terms and conditions. Some providers will offer an introductory price for the first month, but this can often increase to a higher rate each month so it's worth keeping an eye out for deals.
