We were using a basic count down of 3...2...1 and we went off of the time of the object hitting the ground. We weighed each object. Then we used my dads fishing scale to weigh objects. It weighed down to 100th of an ounce. Then we tried dropping the baseball and football with a stopwatch but we couldn't tell which one hit the ground first, because they hit close to the same time. Then we started dropping each object one time, but we was still using the same method with the time. So, after that each one. We dropped it twice and average the 2 times for the one object.
What Scientists Said In A Summary
Scientist said by dropping 2 objects of different weights at the same time that they should hit the ground at the same time. Scientist said by proving this you would have to have a tube to cut out all wind resistance. What we did was drop the items in outside conditions and was not able to control wind resistance. We would have to say that air resistance would be the difference between are objects hitting at different times. Also it is hard trying to start and stop time at the precise time at start and finish as would in a science lab. So there will be some time difference in my reaction time and hearing.
