What Is Fridge Freezer Samsung And Why Are We Dissing It?
Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings

Samsung's Family Hub fridge is a 389-litre fridge and an 225-litre freezer. It's a big American model with a top-quality temperature control system as well as numerous clever features.

You can personalize it with removable panels to complement your collection of matte black Rick Owens clothing and tie-dye Crocs.

All-Round Cooling

Separate cooling circuits in refrigerators with All Round Cooing help keep your food fresher. Conventional refrigerators have a single evaporator that cools both the freezer as well as the refrigerator compartment. This usually means that the low humidity air from your freezer is pumped into your fridge, and can cause your foods to dry out. This can make food taste bland and unpleasant.

Each shelf level is equipped with multiple vents to circulate cool air. This ensures a constant temperature even if you shut and open the fridge door.

Optimal Fresh Zone keeps fish and meats fresher for as long as twice as long as conventional fridges, and without freezing them. This feature is an absolute game changer for anyone who loves cooking but doesn't like the hassle of defrosting frozen meat or fish.

All Round Cooling utilizes an All Round Cooling cooling plate that is located at the back of the refrigerator to keep cold air and prevent its loss when you open the door. It also helps reduce the need for power defrosting which saves time and money.

Samsung refrigerators feature one of the best Ice dispensers we've tested. Its patent-pending Twist Ice Maker dispenses large cubes in a single twist, and it can be stored in the drawer below when not being used. This creates more shelf space and makes it easier to locate your most loved drinks and snacks.

With Reversible Doors, you can choose the direction that your freezer or fridge opens. This allows you to easily fit your fridge into the layout of your kitchen and keep your fridge neat and tidy.

Samsung's Family Hub is the central control for your SmartThings-connected home. It uses a large touchscreen that is mounted on your refrigerator. It will show live video from your smart doorbell, place orders for groceries in accordance with an automated inventory, or suggest recipes based on the items you have on hand.

Samsung refrigerators come with drawers that flex at the bottom, which are an efficient storage solution. They allow you to store larger items, like pizza trays or cans of drinks. They can be turned upside down when not in use and they can be folded flat to take less space. This is a fantastic feature for those who are passionate about baking and cooking, but have limited fridge space.

FlexZone

The Samsung FlexZone side by side fridge freezer is unique in its 3-zone system, which allows you to add an extra freezer drawer or refrigerator compartment. This flexibility lets you design your fridge freezer to meet your storage needs and requirements. It also makes it easy to upgrade to a bigger or smaller fridge by the addition of a FlexZone module.

The sleek design of the refrigerator will complement any kitchen decor. The stainless steel finish of the fridge is elegant and sturdy. It also has an anti-fingerprint finish that keeps the surface looking new. The refrigerator also has an external water and ice dispenser, making it even more convenient.

This fridge comes with a FlexZone bottom-right compartment that can be converted from freezer to refrigerator. This lets you store things like ice cream, bags frozen vegetables, meat, or fish in the freezer. It was a great performer in our tests too, but the lack of a voice control feature and SmartThings integration on the 21.5-inch touchscreen was a missed opportunity.

The rest of the fridge has plenty of room to store food, including two crisper trays and an upper FlexZone drawer that can be customized. This drawer lets you choose among five different settings based on your requirements for the fridge-freezer compartment. There are five options: the freezer setting, a soft-freeze setting for wine trays, or deli trays for example, a meat setting, a fish setting, and a beverage setting to store snacks, drinks, and frequently used items.

This Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator is ideal for families who want to have a fridge and freezer in one unit. It's a little less spacious than the top-of-the-line French door models, but it comes with a number of useful features and is an excellent alternative for those with little space in their kitchens.

Samsung Fridge Freezers are very energy efficient due to their digital inverter technology. This technology regulates the temperature inside the fridge to ensure it doesn't change too frequently and keeps food fresher longer. Its energy efficiency has earned the ENERGY STAR Certification.

SmartThings

SmartThings isn't as popular a platform that Alexa and Google Assistant are but it does come with a lot of smart devices that you can add. It's also baked into Samsung smartphones, tablets and TVs - plus some fridges. That may be enough to warrant it for some, particularly if you have multiple Samsung products.

The SmartThings app is a bit elegant and well-rounded It comes with a 'if you do x, then y' automation section that is surprisingly effective. fridge freezer samsung can set up things such as an alarm that goes off when water sensors detect a flood, or turn on the lights when your phone senses that you're in your home. It can also control your refrigerator if you connect it to a smart socket, however we've had mixed results with that.

SmartThings requires a hub, which isn't cheap. Samsung has a range of models, including the SmartThings Station, which you can connect to your router and is used as a nightlight. There's also a cheaper SmartThings Hub Dongle that can support Z-Wave and Zigbee and Thread with support in the near future.

Once you have your smart fridge, smartphone and hub connected it's easy to use. The SmartThings app lets you manage your fridge from anywhere, with notifications sent to your smartphone whenever it's opened or closed. You can set up schedules to set the temperature, and even set reminders.

SmartThings is a founding member of the Home Connectivity Alliance, which is working to make major appliances in the home from a variety of manufacturers compatible. In the near future you could control your Samsung washer/dryer, Electrolux oven, and LG TV from the same app.

SmartThings isn't as well-known as Alexa or Google Assistant but it does include some major names on its list, including Arlo Nest, Belkin, and Lifx. It's also compatible with Matter, a protocol that allows accessories to pair regardless of their brand. For the majority of people however, combining Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is most likely the best option.

Family Hub

This fridge freezer is the most modern one you can find. It comes with a 21-inch touchscreen built into the door, as well as a host of smart features. You can access entertainment apps, leave notes for family members (think a huge digital version of a notepad that is stuck to the fridge), check weather updates, and much more, all thanks Samsung's own voice assistant, Bixby.

The touchscreen lets you manage recipes and food. You can add ingredients from an app and check out what's in your fridge using internal cameras. You can create a grocery list on the move and track food items to check their expiration date. You can even download an app for recipes that will provide instructions while you cook.

This is the second generation of Family Hub fridges and Samsung claims that it's spent the past year adjusting them to the needs of customer feedback. One major change is that you can now set different profiles for every family member so that they can tailor the information and apps they can access. It's not as effective as Alexa integration into your fridge, but it's an improvement over last year's model.

Family Hub is not only an application for managing groceries and entertainment but also controls Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can be used to control Matter-compatible devices such as lights, plugs, and locks.

Samsung's fridge has been in use for a while and, while it still provides a decent amount of features, the touchscreens don't really stand out as an essential feature for many people. They're more fun and semi-frivolous accessories than anything else.

This could change when there are more software updates, but for now these models are the best for those who want to have the most comprehensive connected refrigerator they can get. If you're not among them, you can always choose a lower-cost model without the Family Hub to save some money. If you have a lot of smart home devices that you need to control with one screen, or you like the idea of having a fridge equipped with a large touchscreen, it could be worth the investment.
